What features were you hoping for?

Don't know how much we can talk about what with the NDA an all...

Suffice to say that I thought I could say "YAY!! I LOVE IT!!", but now looking at the released patch 5 notes I have to say "Okay, that's still a good direction, now how about the rest?"

Edit: Okay I saw an earlier smaller list, now it's updated with a lot more stuff, awesome B)

The only PC specific change is a mouselook toggle which makes the combat even less tactical and bring the gameplay closer to controller play? Ok, exactly i was looking for to abandon the forum again. Have a nice month everyone!

I have no idea why they would add mouse look. Wre people asking for this?

Well, we're deep enough into 2015, where we should have flying cars and game companies that tell the truth.  Sadly, we have neither.  I'm not going to complain that much about (the lack of) flying cars - I shudder to think about my elderly in-laws up in the sky...and then inevitably smashing into something.  Maybe that'd be a good thing for ME....but I'm selfish and I'm trying to think about the greater/bigger/social good.

That being said, we have a gaming industry that's hell-bent on going backwards (isometric views) with some RPG's.  It's "profitable" if you port it to Android (cell phones/smaller screens), but it's not the best gaming experience.  It's a novelty at best... People/consumers think that they'd want to play it on their phone...but they really don't.  They want to SEE it...on a big enough screen.

My guess is this is the only change sometimes mentioned as feedback that makes the control feel more like playing with a controller. And that might be their goal beside adding a tiny bit of flexibility like autoattack and such. It is slow but my keyboard and mouse firmly transforms into a controller when dragon age launches. Well they are not because its long gone from the hdd.I understand this process takes time, maybe 10 or 12 patches until they refine the limited pc control scheme into the seamless actiony controller style control. They might work miracles and Inquisition becomes the best console port of 2015. If Pillars of Eternity will be a p.o.s. i might give Inquisition another go after 1 or 2 more patches. What can i say i love the music and some of the cutscenes and with completely avoiding anything other than the main missions it can be a good action game if they translate the ****** joystick to kb+m.

Dont get me started on A.I. driving! I dont want Skynet driving my car. :D Especially not A.I. made by Bioware programmers, we already know they have a habbit of making suicidal mages and rogues. :D

Am I right in assuming that Black Emporium and Mirror of Transformation are coming later as a DLC?

It'd be palatable for the consumer, at first...for one that desires to be in charge of one's own destination.  There would still be roadways/streets for driving.  Eventually, we'll just move people faster and more efficiently.   Perhaps it will be matter/transference - we can only envision how advanced we'll go in regards to "transit".  Maybe flying cars will catch on....but first we need to see how the privatization of lower Earth's orbit/space goes.  We're getting there....

This just in (and very relevant to this thread, I would say):

PC gaming expected to be worth $35 billion by 2018

http://www.vg247.com...illion-by-2018/

Now, let's see if Bioware/EA wants to get back on the wagon with this money carrot waved in front of their noses....

Yeah, problem is when for any reason an unavoidable  accident happens A.I has to make a moral decision on which person's life is more important to save and such things. There are a lot of more sophisticated argument about this everywhere you look, i think i just leave it as who cares, because not happening anytime soon anyway, nor buying another BW game either.

This was just another misleading **** usual from BW. You get to test black emporium with patch 5. *Missing part: but we dont say if black emporium will be in patch 5 or it will be free at all. Well, most likely it will not. Thanks for testing and be surprised later!*

The market has always been here, with us PC gamers.  Always.  That doesn't change......the companies do.  Their loss.

Some of the previously-listed patch 5 features are being worked on again based on our testing feedback.

Meanwhile, we're testing the next bits.

Yes, it's slow. Yes, it should have been done earlier. But, it is moving.

Not surprising and is "part of the process" when testing a Beta.

I'm convinced that the DLC has priority and will be released when it's spit-polished, along with whatever feautures are ready at the time. That will be Patch 5.  Patch 6 will include anything left over from Patch 5 plus new improvements. That's my thinking..

On a side note, the fact that Bio is focused on "fixing" exploits annoys me.   I can only conclude that it's seen as a possible bypass to Multiplayer revenue stream(s). In the meantime, DAI remains in my "closet storage chest" for now..

And Bethgael, thanks for testing the Beta for us...

Please refresh our memory here:

Who came to the "PC Concerns" thread to tell a bunch of complete strangers how much they love a certain console game ported to PC and it's console UI?

And then you want us to think you don't care ...

I don't really come to the forums to talk to you. It's mainly to share my opinion with Bioware. This may be a foreign concept to you, but rest assured, it is probably more common than you realize. If I see a trend, or a thread being what I consider "monopolized" by complainers, I'll share a positive opinion (if I have one) to balance out the negativity. Thus Bioware will see that not everyone is unhappy with their product. In fact, the very act of my posting an opposing opinion is a statement that I honestly disagree with opposite opinions and don't care about what I consider silly overblown negativity, something that tends to feed itself on social media.

No need for a moral judgment with A.I.  This isn't Captain Kirk outsmarting an alien probe.  We build these things to react and do a job.  It's not going to be "sentient" in any way.  It's going to smoosh two airbags into our faces because our human driver sucks.  Maybe the computer will call 911 and alert others of a crash, but I'll fight Skynet.  Humanity should always rule.  Robots should serve.

@almostfaceman - You basically proved "KilrB"s point with your post.  What sort of person tries to balance out a forum with a malleable point of view, depending upon how the wind blows?  Reread your post and realize how ridiculous it might seem.  Self-introspection is one thing, but an active blogging experience where you attempt to do the same with/against people does not work.  Stop lying to yourself.

This is the PC Community Concerns forum.  If you don't have a concern?  Well, you know where the door is.  This thread was created by a Boooware developer because Booooware wanted our feedback about what was a concern, and not about how "almostfaceman" likes this game.  We get it.  You're a positive guy full of ideas, and none of them are helpful here.  Tell Booooware to fix this game.

@Sartoz - You said it.  It's a shame that these patches are just fixing exploits/minor bugs, and not dealing with real PC-gaming issues.  I appreciate our communities' sacrifices and it looks like the company isn't heeding any of them.  Bummer.  Not that I'm surprised.  This was merely a delay to appease us.  It's now March and NOTHING has been fixed of any significance.  For shame, Boooware.

What i said was true about Black Emporium not being tied to patch 5 but its common knowledge by now shared by Bioware and looks like i cant share anything on my mind now because ive just got into beta (whether its a good thing or not).

I don't think you read my post, since I stated quite clearly that my point of view was not malleable. I said "if" I had an opposing view. Not that I would state an opposing view for grins and giggles.

I'm still waiting for one from you, dear Sir, if I may.

In the meantime, let me say that you certainly seem to love the sound of your own voice, don't you, Sir?

In this case represented by the soft click-click of your comfortable typing behind your screen, supporting Bioware and making such bold statements as posting on threads without any useful information to contribute.

One would assume you simply wanted to talk to us.

And as a nod to your avatar, I'd love to see your business cards, Mr Bateman, Sir (or are you Batman? did we finally find the masked avenger ?).

Mine are very light-ivory with softly engraved-like letters. I'm considering adding a bit of color, Patrick.

What do you think?

This is not your personal blogging site. Neither is it your diary.

So unless you have something actually useful to add by keeping in mind the title of this thread, you are doing little more than trolling, in which case I suggest you take it elsewhere.
