It seems likely that the PC improvements are simply not a priority. I think that's the most reasonable explanation for the excessively long dev time and the numerous delays on the seemingly trivial issues.
Just had a look at DA2. Haven't played it for quite some time. It is light years ahead of this travesty.
Click on a companion and the char menu appears. Look at tactics. All there.
Was never happy with DA2's hair but pfft!
Everything else is at your fingertips! DA2 was supposed to be rushed, but DAI was 4 years in the making????
I suppose it took that long to remove all the PC stuff.
If you want to use mods, simply move everything from your merged folder and paste into the patch folder, then delete the empty 'merged' folder. Do this at your own risk , and always backup your saves. Working 100% for me.
What I did was 1) Create a merged file using DAIMod Manager, 2) Rename the "Patch" folder to "Patch Backup" and 3) Rename the "Merged" folder to "Patch"
So ... we have achieved a consensus: DA:I is proposital so wrongly that we start to love DA:2.
Its like a well thought campaing to improve DA:2 sales ...
mistery solved.

Oh Maker. I caught myself becoming a cannibal.
From looks of things the team is doing the best they can with what little they've got, they've acknowledged the fan/dev disconnect, shocking patches and now the beta program serves to assist in both issues. They still left this thread silent most of the time but what else can they say or do here?
With the Patch 5 beta I didn't expect a miraculous turn of events with EA suddenly putting money into post-release support when frankly we all know they simply don't give a sh-t, and the stranglehold they have on Bioware seems to be tighter now that Ray and Greg has retired along with other former Bioware employees.
It's already a trend in today's businesses to have owners who don't have a bloody clue about the industry calling the shots in operations. All that matters to them is the bottom line, there's no passion for games. It's just how it is in the AAA industry, and hell management has to answer to them as well. I already predicted that DAI will only be PC-friendly towards the end of the year, not before, and definitely not now. If you guys are pissed, just move on and play other games for now.
If it's not even PC-friendly by then, then it's just proof that EA's grip on Bioware is complete, and it's time to boycott.

Mesquite and good BBQ sauce can make near anything taste good.
But it can't make this turkey palatable.

Your timing is a bit off, the boycott needs to start now.
NOW
Until everyone on PC, Xbox 360, and PS3 can play the game they paid for ... no $$ for you EAware.

I may have been way too optimistic in prophecizing that this game will be PC-ready on May 19th, a six-month anniversary.
I just had 3 crash to desktops in about as many hours of gameplay.
Wooooooo.....
@KillrB I'm a fairly positive person but

I really don't think Xbox 360/PS3 owners will ever see this game run properly.. Frostbite engine 3 just does not scale that well. I do think things will get better on PS4/Xbox One and PC eventually.

That may well be, but it didn't stop EAware from selling it to them even knowing full well what was going to happen.
They owe those customers the game they paid for.
(edit)
Failing that they owe them a full refund or a WORKING game of similar price.
... and a big apology.
Have they actually put the patch notes up at all?

I agree with you wholeheartedly.

That's just been the track record of the company, Cyan. But it proves what they told you at PAX South. They are going to focus on the next gen consoles and mobiles. Like everyone else, I wanted to believe that they would make the PC version playable. I honestly just don't see that happening. I wish I could be so optimistic. But I will say it again, support for the PC version is over. They did what they felt was satisfactory (when we know damn well it wasn't).
And people wonder why us gamers can't be taken seriously these days.
So you mean people will take us seriously if we say everything is fine when they clearly aren't? It's that kind of thinking that has put us here in the first place. When are people gonna realize that gamer's doesn't owe gaming companies anything, they owe us. Without our money they wouldn't have a job... The world isn't black and white people, the game isn't entirely bad and it isn't' entirely good, you need to see the grey in life. Or just put your head in the sand, but then don't come crying later when things aren't as you want them to be.
I really hope there's a different team working on the next mass effect and they'll talk to us. Given the only PC thing they need to get right is, NO FRIGGIN MOUSE ACCELERATION OR SMOOTHING IN SHOOTERS YA MORONS, i can work with crappy UI (and there's no need for a tac cam) if the shooting part is done right.
The only thing they can ****** up in ME is the story, oh wait they already did... Kidding aside, yeah Mass Effect is certainly a much harder game to screw up gameplay wise.
Though there were a lot of changes in ME that wasn't related to gameplay or story that was not very reassuring. Like how Shepard made decisions and said things that you had no control over whatsoever and how the dialogue with your teammates were fairly limited outside certain plot points. The next ME is the last chance I'll give Bioware.

Weird thing I had yesterday was with a mission. It was the sidequest in which Cullen joins you to fight. In the area outside the building my armor was painted a really light green color instead of the usual dark green, it was like the shaders for the armor were messed up. Inside the building they returned to normal. In the other areas of the game there was nothing wrong.
An Updated List Of Studios EA Has Bought And Then Shut Down

Yeah. Blizzard wants you to think even the janitors there are regularly playing blizz games. Bioware developers right now just seem like droids of a division motivated to make money no matter what by EA.
Yes, EA is going to shut down BioWare on the heels of what was said to be BioWare's most successful launch financially. ![]()

Why not? They did that to Westwood Studios when they took over Command and Conquer and Earth and Beyond (MMO).

funny you should say that http://www.kitguru.n...r-studio-maxis/
And yet, oddly, I'm not concerned.
But hey, if it makes you feel better.
