Just out of curiosity for those that are still having DX crashes, are you running Full Screen or Windowed? Also is HPET enabled on your machine (google it)? I know squat about DX but these errors (when I read the messages) appear to be threading issues to me.
Im sure BuyO'ware will implement some more fixes in time for a new DLC to release- But its been to long to actually have any hope for this game to run on any SLI setup. They don't know HOW to fix the texture flicker and White fog problem, and it certainly is not NVIDIA's fault a horrible game developer and publisher make a game that has SLI bugs - If the Developer of the actual GAME cant fix the issues, how will NVIDIA?
Who makes a graphically demanding game that is apparently made for PC GAMER's yet doesn't test SLI? Or implement proper Keyboard and Mouse controls?? EA/BuyO'ware that's who! What a joke of game!
The video game industry is on the verge of a bubble pop due to consistent lack of product quality, false advertisement and shady DLC practice. DLC's that were surely made as a part of the original game.
Can anyone even think of a Dev or Publisher that they still think is honorable these days? Gamer's truly making games for gamer's?
BETHESDA?
Well maybe, but even they dropped a broken Patch for Skyrim that messed with the lip movement and voice syncing n claim they weren't gonna fix it Ever
ROCKSTAR?
Well they make a damn fine product but even they get ridiculous when it comes to addressing their CUSTOMERS on fixing their games issues. They say deal with it! We'll fix it when we have the time! Imagine if any other industry behaved that way. I know Id be outta buisness fast
CCP?
The makers of Eve online are more or less held hostage by their players who will riot in game n break the games economy if CCP tries any funny buisness, n CCP have tried lol But at least now they have player voted representatives who actually meet with the dev's quite regularly to discuss any impact of changes .
BLIZZARD?
Well I have only ever played Diablo 3 of their "recent" games and we all know how that was received, many liked it, many didn't. I don't recall hearing any shady doings but I could be very wrong as I don't pay attention to them at all really. Blizzard just isn't a company who makes games I look forward to playing.
VALVE?
I'm pretty sure they are really just focused on counting their money from their Steam Powered money making machine.
I hope things get better for us Enthusiasts
Well EA /BuyO'ware, I hope you ENJOY my $70!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
YOUR NEVER GONNA GET A DIME OUTTA ME AGAIN AND I'M ONE OF MANY YOU'VE INFURIATED ! SLEEP IN THE BED YOU'VE MADE
Well , at least I'll always have Eve online ![]()
So have the terrible PC issues been fixed yet (especially controls)? I'm waiting to buy the game and have been keeping track of things hoping something gets done since I enjoyed the first DA (DA2 was **bleep**).
I'm losing faith in video games in general these days... is it me or do more people feel 2014 was the worst year for video games ever? Maybe I'm just getting too old for games since I'm about to turn 40. It feels like video game companies try to push out crap games and then make money through hype, they don't want to make games that you play for countless hours anymore; if you stop playing a game you're looking to buy a new one so they make more money if their games suck.

Short answer? No.
Long answer? Nooooooooooooooooo.
Has anyone been having lag problems in Adamant and the Fade? This has just happened recently, I'm not sure if it's my system, as it is quite good.
GTX 980
i5-4690k
8.00 GB of RAM
Everything is set to ultra, except for textures (fade touched) and the MSAA is set to 2x.
People are still getting DirectX errors- I tend to play in half hour-forty minute bursts. I've only gotten the one but I'm no landstick because I haven't played the game for long sessions at a time. The cutscenes either improved after the start of the game or were patched, although I can tell they're still 30fps capped which conflicts with my normal higher framerate but it's not the stutter fest so I'll tolerate it. I refuse to buy DLC for this game until the reports of Windows and Origin bickering over the game stop and the resource allocation issues are solved. I expect a game to use the CPU/GPU/RAM and so on it needs, not to resource spike and I won't dedicate extra money to a game I'll have problems with on the OS it was designed to work with and matching/exceeding recommended requirements with my desktop.
I can't even put this on lowered settings on my laptop yet, despite its hyperthreading emulating four cores because I use my laptop for casual, at-a-friend's gaming because I'm not going to risk damaging a component over a game that can't restrict itself to the resources it needs or is told to stay down on. Let's just say, I'm not blaming NVIDIA here. They should be working on increasing the game's efficiency and improved framerates but instead, they have to dedicate time to someone else's mistakes. Next time, delay the game for another few months because at the point in time, the game will need more than the normal amount of patches usually dedicated to any release.
Above all- exploits aren't important! I don't want to see another changelog dedicated to ways people can't get advantages/resources. PC, and indeed all platforms deserve undivided attention to critical game breaking issues. I'm fairly frustrated, considering I've learnt this happened with Battlefield 4, the Direct X errors with the Frostbite engine. I couldn't support any new Bioware franchise logically at the moment using Frostbite because whatever's wrong hasn't been fixed.

Don't despair young'n, it may have been a bad year quality-wise for "AAA" games but there were and are plenty of quality games in every genre available from smaller/indie companies.
Grim Dawn
Wasteland 2
Darkest Dungeon
The Vanishing of Ethan Carter
Elite: Dangerous
... and quite a few more.
Spend your money with these companies instead.
We can stop the flow of crap games from the so-called AAA companies.
All we have to do is stop buying their games until they either change their ways, or go broke.
And since we know they aren't going to change our only option is to try and put them out of business so other, hopefully better, companies can take their place.
When they try to pull another EAware by "aquiring" a small company that makes games we like do not keep buying those games in the futile hope that things will continue to be alright because history shows us it won't.
STOP buying their crap games, we'll only get MORE crap if we do.

The directx crash is a flaw in the frostbite engine itself. It was one of the many issues that that plagued BF4 when it was released. It is still effecting BF4 today. I was not able to make the connection tell I reinstalled BF4 and ran into the same crash again. Also, there are several threads dedicated to the issue on the EA Answer HQ.
http://answers.ea.co...on/td-p/1915085
The fact that BF4 came out in 2013 and the issue is still present today give me little hope that it will ever be corrected in DA:I.
Thanks KilrB, I'm checking out some of those titles and they look good but I'll have to do more research before picking one up. Maybe that's my issue, I've only been looking at larger titles where they've all been underwhelming.
It's nice to see games that play to a strength too, those look like RPG games that are trying to be RPG games. Not some hybrid RPG/MMO/FPS/Sports/Action/Whatever other label you can slap on a game to appeal to a larger audience in the hope a lot of people buy before hearing the bad fan reviews. It seems review websites are easy enough to buy off before the game releases so their opinion doesn't mean ****, review websites are nothing more then extensions of the video game companies marketing departments, who work for the video game companies and not for their audience.

Good rig but, try turning Vsync to Adaptive in the Nvidia Control Panel and, Post Processing effects to low in the game - it makes a difference in performance and stability but, is barely noticeable appearance wise.

Yeah give WASTELAND 2 a go - It may be different then what your used to being a turn based rpg game but it really is great - The fact that DA:I won alot of RPG of the year award is a clear indication of rampant corruption in many large websites so called "awards"
A few good sites gave the RPG of the year award and even game of the year award to WASTELAND 2 . It really does deserve much love. Though it ain't for everybody.
Its the real Fallout 3 many OG fallout fans were looking for even though I did absolutely love Bethesda's iteration

Just to set the record straight, again, Wasteland pre-dates Fallout by 10 years so technically Wasteland 2 is the real Wasteland 2 that many OG Wasteland fans were looking for even though the Fallout games were/are a pretty good imitation. ![]()

I think it might be my PSU, it is somewhat old now and today my computer shut off while I was playing Inquisition. I think the PSU is not drawing enough power. I hope nothing was damaged.
So, I'm not seeing anyone else reporting this that I could find, but after patch 5, hair is back to being super shiny and plastic and freckles are gone (poor Harding).
My mesh was already on ultra, and unlike last time, no other adjustments seem to be working. I redownloaded the patch only to find all my sound and graphic setting put back to default, but after customizing, same problem. The work around that was a band-aid for patch 2 is also not working here.
Anyone else having this problem or have some thoughts? :/
Also, just my two cents, but it is seriously aggravating to see all these harmless exploits getting curtailed with every patch, and yet there are bugs that render some quests unable to complete that have gone unaddressed since the beginning, never mind the "fixes" that break something else! Plus, if you're going to make the Keep completely dependent on unlocked quests in-game, maybe make sure it actually unlocks the quests you've done. What is has and has not (which is a lot more) chosen to import is ridiculous.
*rant over, soapbox away*

Believe there is a new setting in Graphics for Shaders or Shading; set to High or above, and this will allow you to lower Texture and meshes if desired for increased FPS.
Ah ha, didn't notice it at the bottom (or else I just didn't think to turn it up that high). Unfortunately, only high mesh AND shader solves the problem, which adds a bit of lag overall, but at least I'm not blinded by the glare coming off everyone's hair and faces anymore. Thanks. ![]()
So, please enlighten me: WHEN can we excatly expect this last, 4th or 5th (I don't even know any more), patch to come out and finally fix the AI and Tactical Camera once and for all? Please. Any ideas? Have they even hinted us about when is the beta expected to end the patch finally get launched?
Thanks everyone for the help, I've been away from this forums for a while, hence the questions.
Never is probably the most realistic answer.

Never is really a realistic answer without any intention of trolling.
does anyone think the devs are killing exploits because that's about the only thing they can do that won't likely cause more bugs?
Ah, you still haven't heard that there are no Amulets of Power on coffers in Patch 5 due to the "Crestwood exploit fix"? ![]()

Honestly I would not expect this. If they were going to do something like fix the Tac cam they would have said so by now.
BioWere know exactly what a good Tac cam looks like...they included one in DAO.
The controls in DAO were great...totally intuitive. You started the game and all logical movement and viewing and tactics etc. flowed from the off.
This game is a completely anti-intuitive mess and Tac cam is a weird wrestling experience with some invisible force that tries to counteract every and all motions that you try to execute to get a good view of the situation. It is as claustrophobic an experience as crawling the wrong way into a sleeping bag and then being sat on. It is a thing of nightmares.
The latest "patch" does nothing to improve it...it is useless. You can see that BioWere deem it unnecessary since button mashing through on normal or easy is where their head is at. They have not made the game for PC players who want a tactical RPG experience to play through on difficult levels.
We are months after release and no effort has been made to make this a game for PC. None. They are just throwing out half baked "fixes" which are simply tweaks of the existing system. Look at armor tinting. No new menu with colour chart and new colours or anything like that...just a couple of lines of code that let you reuse an already existing function...nothing...
I suspect the engine and their way of working with it has serious limitations that preclude any chance of a decent PC experience being produced without them having to spend money...something they will not do.

Yes, you would expect Bioware to know how to recreate successful game mechanics based on their own previous experience having done so using far less capable game engines.
But just to illustrate that the opposite may actually be true, instead of simply uncapping the zoom mechanism to allow you to zoom out further (especially in tac cam), they went and done the unthinkable...
They added a slider in the settings that pre-determines your zoom level in tac cam. I mean, Wow! That is special.
(And BTW, infinite zoom IS POSSIBLE in the game engine! The modding community proved this with cheat engine - But apparently Bioware with all their fancy DICE software, can't seem to implement that logical thing).
So my question is this: Who makes such a dumb decision? Someone who REALLY DO NOT HAVE A CLUE, that's who.
No one is going to convince me that the programmers currently sucking air at Bioware, knows ANYTHING about PC gaming using KB&M. All evidence prove they do NOT.

They really cracked me up when i saw the zoom was through the options menu. I was like "dude, ever heard of mouse wheel?". I guess their idea of mouse wheel is this:
