Well, it's confirmed the bug exists for existing saves. Only brand new saves remains for testing.

Origin set to online, DAI in-game account logged in: av. FPS between 30-35,
Origin set to offline, DAI in-game account not logged in: av. FPS between 45-55
EA/BW still could not find a solution for this.

I kind of expected that, but sheez.

When I disable Origin, the game's FPS never seems to have an issue. I hate going into Task Manager to shut Origin down, but it's necessary when there is a lot of action is happening in an area like the Hinterlands crossroads.

Yeah, sorry for playing Captain Obvious
No Captain Obvious response. It's just a fact, Jack. Thank you for BETA testing. Mine unexepectedly ended when I first reported the missing keybindings.
I love the Mako! It steers like a broken truck at times, but it's still great fun driving around, plus it packs a punch

Should have done more betatesting and less rage-deleting saves
Now I have to redo them and gain 8 Power points quickly to go to the cursed Fallow Mire.... -sigh-

I love it how decided to celebrate a Mako crush landing with a few bursts of vertical climb. It's like a Redneck got a hold of the Mako and started driving it like he was mudding on some open field.

Which brings me back the whole game flow and mechanincs thing... but yeah. Thanks for the effort.

I liked the Mako, but it should've been an optional vehicle and sometimes the option to use to justify having it. I also loved the second version of it from the Firewalker DLC in Mass Effect 2. I loved it as well, but again it should be the other option. I think bringing back both vehicles to do some exploration by vehicle and foot would be great in my humble opinion.
Just curious when the facecode import/export thing is going to happen, I'm waiting for that + mouselook + mouse key binding before I give DAI another go. Would you say, 3 months? or 6? or 9? or 12?
I've seen no indication that a facecode export is going to happen at all.
Dark Amaranth... the fact that you feel the game will be improved via patching in 8 months (as opposed to improved through expansions) is telling.
A 'AAA' game should not require nigh on a year of patching after release to finally be... done, ready, out of beta, have major gameplay or storyline bugs fixed, or generically improved. However you may personally feel about the controls, UI, tac cam, crashes, whatever... the game should have been released with these very major issues already addressed. From day 1. Glitches and bugs are what you patch for after release. These issues are what you solve before release. Not for the full year afterwards. (And to those who nitpick over dates, 8 months from now is November 6th, a mere 11 days short of a year, so don't start)
This game wasn't done. For PC or console, though better prepared for console. It's shameful. Yes, shameful.
BioWare and EA employees should be actually, truly, and literally ashamed at this launch. It may be the fault of some EA execs and a project lead, and not the rank and file, but I know if my work was released to the public in this state I would be ashamed even if it was my boss' call to do so.
Now, some will call me out as being toxic and unfair. I'm not. I'm simply pointing out that the team has already raised the bar, and that this time around they failed, crushingly, to even come close. I'm not toxic. I'm disappointed.
"Well they tried something new, new engine, new Skyrim-esque style, new features!"
They have done no such thing. They're using a documented flawed engine and did so for development dollars, scrapping already done work on the original engine they planned to use. They're recycling concepts from other games but are watering them down and therefor making them worse despite the attempt at imitation (yes imitation, which by default means not creatively new), and the features they've put in have all been done in other games with far better execution. Heck, even their first SP DLC isn't "new", it's the damned Emporium! Explain to me how that wasn't in on release? (Which incidentally would have eliminated fully and completely all issues related to appearance and voice that have cropped up with each patch... scars vanished or skin got old? Remake your character like s/he was before! Voice bug? Voice fixed! The only issue it cannot address is the male elf arms.)
Sorry but no matter how you try to nice it up, EAWare f'd this up, in a major way. Besides wanting the emporium to fix my voice so I can at least complete the game for some feeling of trifling "value" for the $70 I spent on it, I have nothing left invested in EAWare. No desire for any future release. The last three releases have destroyed the last tattered vestiges of integrity this studio had. A shame too. I've been inside the walls. I have friends that work there. I know the passion they have for what they do. It's just a damn shame that somewhere along the way they stopped doing it well... let alone as the leaders in the field they once were.

You expect this from EA? ![]()
I am old school and remember when games first came out on old computers. Games were tested much more when we had floppies, They cost to much to have them patched. So when you bought something, it generally worked well. Heroes of Might and Magic Xeen had four CD's when it was released, It was one of the first CD games I bought, and I do not remember having any issues with it. just seems the more modern games and gaming companies make products that are not acceptable. SO much so that I started table top game night again with a group of old folks like me.
I've been following this thread off and on since it's been made and have got to say you guys have some serious overreactions.
Yes there were a few issues with the PC version. A part of me misses the true tactics of Origins. But I also like some of the more action oriented implementations as well. Overall I feel like this is one of the best games I've ever played. Sure it has some issues but overall it is a stellar game.
Some of the "I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER BIOWARE PRODUCT. BIOWARE ARE SELLOUTS. A MONKEY COULD CODE THIS GAME AND NOT MAKE MISTAKES" sound really depressing. I mean if I were someone who worked on this game and read some of this drivel and down-right hate I'd start drinking.
Why not try to be more positive and constructive in your criticism so you all don't sound like a bunch of self entitled douches. Just word things more positively, you will prolly begin to feel better about yourself and your online interactions.
Overall if any dev reads this and stops at my post, you did a great job. This is easily one of the best games I've played in along time and has all the things that still make bioware games great. Go home tonight and know you did a stellar job. I've played almost every bioware game since Neverwinter Nights and still love every single game since then, warts and all.
"..This is easily one of the best games I've played in along time.."
You do realize, I hope, that this forum is for the PC COMMUNITY? PCs that have Keyboard and Mouse as input device controls?
I am speaking about PC gamers who played DAO+DA2 and so are very familiar with past DA game's KB+M controls ... that expect said controls with DAI from Mike Laidlaw's video comment about "made for PC gamers by PC gamers" and "we've gone back to our roots"... whose roots, btw, is PC games with KB+M device controls. I cannot over emphasize proper use of KB+M controls.
"Stellar job"
No question its visual awesomeness and voice acting (except Bull's character is so totally not Qunari). But, compared to expectations from Bio's marketing videos, it falls flat. In other words, DAI was overhyped. Add insult to injury, my post that said (paraphrasing) just before game release...." hey guys, did you read the small print at the end of the video that said this is not IN_Game grapahics..".. was deleted. A truly revealing PER SE moment, don't you think?. I mean, what was BIO afraid of? I mean, BIO had staff specifically looking for such comments!!!
How you gush with so much inthusiam from so unintuitive game controls and undelivered marketing expectations is beyond my understading. In case it is not clear, here is my feeling.. I was betrayed and BIO lost my trust. For example: All future ME4 BIO communications is just Marketing Speak not Truth Speak.
"..sure it has some issues.."
You got to be kidding me!

On the other hand, if you did not play DAO+DA2, please say so. I can then understand where you are coming from.
A counter point to someone's stellar job comment.
I didn't even know I was supposed to get an Amulet of Power in Valammar. I happened to have a recording of my exploration of Valammar, and I went back and checked, and sure enough, Varric's Amulet of Power was not there. This was for a character created before patch 5, exploring Valammar after patch 5.

I finally finished my 1st run of DA:I and it was ok for a MMOish console port. Started a new melee character this time but i will not play with the DS3 i ll try mouse and keyboard again. I am for some laughs.
I find I don't really blame Bioware, nor EA... I blame the entire industry, and us the players who allowed the industry to sink so low.
Snip
My viewpoint is quite different with regards to "industry". Blaming the industry is like blaming "company policies". Company policies are made by people, from HR, approved by lawyers and senior execs' (ie: company president, CFO, COO..etc + Board of Directors = people).
In my view, it's greedy people or perhaps more accurate, companies run by people who care about profits and not gaming.

I consider a patch to be free while an expansion and DLC are paid addition. I'm not saying both won't happen but, I think there is a lot that will be done via patches. Of course, if they do a full expansion, then that will likely need a patch or two as well.
DLC small, usually items only addition (10-20 USD price range.)
Expansion big, story, items and features all added (30-50 US price range with enough additions to be worth it.)
Patch/Update may or may not add a dab of new items, generally fixes some bugs and issues. (Free.)

Unfortunately your words are wasted on ignorant, Sartoz. ![]()
Looks like they are filled with hatred and anger and makes everyone sad.
My bad. Thought you were talking about ME3 - BF4.
Still, having in mind the work they're putting on the Mako alone, I doubt the next ME will ever compare to that.....thing (BF4
).
Well, I'd answer, but I'm afraid to now. Have no idea what may be construed as inappropriate. A warning point now for 'language'...somewhere on the forum... it's too bad the warning was so vague and the posts deleted before I had a chance to amend anything.
Still... best not complain. Oh, wait, I'm good at that. Vis:
I was unaware the majority of people playing a mature-rated game (where you can see woman pillows! and internal fluids, wait, 'fluid' is a loaded word... oxygen-carrying red material inside human bodies) on this forum were minors or so closeted to the point where I have to couch everything in soft language to avoid offence - offence rarely ever more detailed than "you was bad".
I look at it this way - if that stinkin' filter doesn't filter it - especially when I use no special characters to circumvent it - then it's NOT inappropriate - unless I'm the victim of a particular bias. If no one tells you which words in particular - and gives you absolutely no chance to maybe change 'em before arbitrarily deleting them, then I think the practice needs to be reviewed because it's floating dangerously close to censorship.
Having a damn dictionary - I recommend an Oxford - on hand when swinging that banhammer wouldn't bloody hurt either.
