Haha tell me about it! I tried to transfer my mods from my storage drive but I gave up once I started to work on the load orders for like gazillion mods!

How credible is that source? It really doesn't make sense that EA would move it to an engine that belongs to Konami

Check out the recent headlines. I can safely say that is probably not a reliable source, considering I can't find any other source for that rumor. It also appears to be a blog related to K-pop and Korean celebrities. Plus, some of us remember the German article about DA:I back last year prior tp release. If it doesn't come from EA/BioWare directly, don't take it at face value.
Besides, this is EA we're talking about. With DICE already in their hands, does anyone honestly believe that they'd give up that much power over one of their bigger selling companies? As Pere points out, why the hell would they do that?
<checks her clock> Yep, it's a full moon. Never mind. Carry on everyone.

Ahh, I remember that armor. It was quite popular at it's time
It's nice, but not my cup of tea.
One set of armor + shield + weapon I loved was the Gift of Kynareth mod. I also loved the Sotonhorian armor set, and the Pure Steel Blades (my Battlemage used those blades, in fact).
OH!! And do you remember the super-famous Deadly Reflex mod?? It was wicked cooooool!!!! All those beheadings and cutthoatings... ![]()
Damn, it still looks great even by today's standarts ![]()
Ah, on-topic: my contact couldn't find Varric's amulet in a new Patch 5 savegame, so it seems the bug affects all the saves. That pretty much confirms I'm taking a pause in DA:I until EA/Bioware/whatever becarios are doing the patching solves that mess.

Well... its official now, Bioware and Frostbite does not mix
Ya thunk it? I mean... GOLLY... after four years and it ain't finished? Too bad no one in the Empire realizes that. The painful saga will continue.

Oh hell they had a mod in Morrowind, armor/weapon sets unique and dedicated to each of the nine. Forgot what it was called... and yes Deadly Reflex! For Skyrim we have Deadly Combat, vanilla combat for TES games have always been... lackluster in my opinion - but mods, hell the mods - combat mods are essential really. Bethesda acknowledges/encourages this, "mods make the game better"
In DAO advanced tactics, deathblows, and balancing mods for me became essential.
Very disappointed since DA2 the lack of mod support, Bio says they would like modding for DAI but due to frostbite... meh, yet this unmoddability already began with DA2 and seems to be the direction where they wanted to take the franchise.

We knew, but it's just nice to have it become official, although I'm quite surprised EA let Bioware switch engines just like that - if the rumor is true.

With Morrowind I was absolutely obsessed with Solstheim mods...(I even made my own removing dirty Fort Frostmoth from my North homeland! (I was RPing a Solstheim native Nord)), especially Solstheim Castle and The White Wolf of Lokken....they were just great ![]()
I also created my own family, filling my castle with Children of Morrowind, maids, dogs, cats, toys all around...the ambient there was surprisingly lively ![]()
Ohhh, and I did loved so much the Twin Lamps questline/faction mod (the one made by Juniper, if I remember correctly). I REALLY hated slavery in Morrowind! And finally being able to do something about it was just epic ![]()
Ahhh, so many good moments with modding....
For those interested in SkyWind:
As for DAI, looking forward to future DLC and patches.
Status updates/completion estimates or didn't happened.
I've already suffered a lot of dissapointments due to big projects never completing. The one that hurt me the most was the AMAZING "Elsweyr: Deserts of Anequina" mod, which aimed to seamlessly (as of part of the world, 0 load screens, not in a world apart from the one in the main game) create the province of Elsweyr in Oblivion.
IT-WAS-LOOKING-SO-FREAKIN'-EPIC!!!! SOOOO GOOD!!! I enjoyed every bit of it's Alpha version....then it stopped being updated.
My rage at that moment was also epic ![]()
SOLSTHEIM CASTLE was a MASTERPIECE
It had so much attention to detail, interiors/exteriors both top quality, hell I still remember when I walked into the tavern and this was played lol
All this reminds me of how Bio wanted to emulate TES, but they forgot what allows TES to truly shine - MODS!

(Off to sleep, more tomorrow!).
Games got the complexity of their technology and since it's been a learning curve, I doubt adjusting for unknowns and limitations was easier at the time so I don't buy the concept patches have gotten harder to implement. The DirectX issue among others are widespread and largely independent of hardware configurations (ATI/Radeon users are still reporting the issue). If it helps this new empire EA is carving out, fixing the issue helps with their future game releases. It's no good having an online client, Origin and wanting to compete Steam when your client is causing conflicts with Windows and killing the game.
Otherwise, Inquisition won't be the last Frostbite game to have issues and I doubt EA does PC releases out of charity so I'm also calling into question the premise they don't really need that section of the gaming market. Remember, brand new PC games, especially with Origin will continue to give them sales well past a game's console generation.
As for constant disappointment, I swear- I can't stand another no-show at E3 on Fallout 4. I want that game so badly and the lack of information is making me sad. Non-existent games and mods that don't get finished are frustrating. On a note of mods, does anyone know of any good vampire story mods for Skyrim?

And there is an article that says ME4 switched to a cross-platform angine called FOX.
"BioWare has already made some great strides in the game using the FrostBite engine."
and
"it has been rumored that they would release the first gameplay video trailer of Mass Effect 4 at CES 2015 this January 2015!"
So, is this alleged gameplay trailer done with Frosbite or FOX?
Which will ME4 actually be done with?
Why switch when Frostbite worked soooo well for DA:I?
Aren't the people who did such a great job with Frosbite on Inqusition working on ME4 right now?

I hope they have switched to the Fox Engine for ME4. After having so many issues with DA:I and BF4 I'm not buying another Frostbite game. In less I get a 100% guarantee that all of the engines flaws have been fixed prior to the ME4 being developed. Knowing EA any guarantee given will be a bold face lie...I mean marketing speak. lol
In other news, Shadow Realms may be back:
http://www.lazygamer...-shadow-realms/
... interesting speculation on why.

It would appear the credibility of that web-site is in doubt, but given the problems that have arisen using it in DA:I and EAware's apparent inability to solve them, it would not surprise me if they gave up on it so soon and left us holding the bag so to speak.

That article came out Jan 5, 2015 and it's cancellation was announced Feb. 9, 2015 . I suspect that the reboot that article talks about was going to cost more than EA wanted to spend on that project. Bioware redistributed it's assets from that game to other projects within the company such as dlc and projects for SWTOR and possibly the new IP that is in the works that we don't know about.

Thank you for clearing that up then.

Now that is the sticky point, isn't it?
The time for rumours and BS is starting for ME4. On the other hand, a cross-platformer engine which includes mobile devices is something EA or its studios might be interested in getting. The FOX engine itself has very good graphics capabilities but is it suited for action/rpg style games?

I found Cassandra's boggy amulet earlier, but I can confirm that Varric's Valammar Amulet of Power doesn't show up in a new Patch 5 character save. Just got there tonight. I even tried zoning out and back in without looting anything, but no amulet.
Oh well.
It sucks, but it's not the end of the world for me. I'm not currently playing on Nightmare, so a few extra ability points aren't going to make or break my game. If I reeeeally wanted to, I could probably hack them in with Cheat Engine, but I'm not going to bother.
I hope they patch it soon so I can try out a Nightmare character.

Yeah.. they are.... but as I said elsewhere the season for the rumours and BS has started....
It's truly unfortunate they couldn't use the truly flexible MT Framework engine 2.0 that Capcom utilized for Dragon's Dogma and Resident Evil 6.
