Interesting occurrence in game today, was having a conversation with Cul when in mid sentence a Codex entry popped up out of nowhere, scared the crap out of me. Closed the entry and sentence continued. ![]()
It's truly unfortunate they couldn't use the truly flexible MT Framework engine 2.0 that Capcom utilized for Dragon's Dogma and Resident Evil 6.
Seein' as how any and every one at EAware that had the faintest idea how to make a PC game had left or been driven away by the time they started Inquisition I have to wonder if it would have mattered what engine they used.
This game is an epic train wreck, yet all I see over the internet is GAME OF THE YEAR.
Well sure, same thing happened with R2, "Game of the year" 9/10, 10/10, 10/10, 9/10, etc etc, when we all know what happened.
so no one know how i make my black look black??
There was a BlackIsBlack mod on Nexus. But only for DAO sorry!
Soo that's great and all that they are listening and added an auto-attack but.... i feel like its still kind of half assed? Why is it that I have to assign it a hotkey? why can't it just let my left click on enemies have the auto attack initiated? now i have a useless freakin button on my mouse since I will never use manual attack ever ever again.
so now i have to always remember to hit that auto attack button when i select a target.... i mean in all the other games you just had to click on him and boom attack.
And have they added mouse keybinding yet?
and that's cool that they added farther zoom on tac cam, but why the heck cant you zoom in and out with the mouse wheel? honestly who thought that was a good idea. Oh and if i move the 'tac cam' in a position that would say be under a structure or bridge it pops down to view 5ft from the ground so you cant see ****.... sigh... this is still unplayable.
Testing auto attack so more and it doesnt even work right! sometimes it will stop auto attacking on a target after some moves so i have to reengage. if you do an aoe spell you also have to reengage.
the whole point to auto attack was so that you didn't have to keep worrying about your character doing their default attack on somethign so you could focus on your abilities and the overall battle and tactics! again instead of just remember to hold down a button all the time i have to remember to constantly be aware if he is auto attacking and to repress the button if he stops....
Honestly I just don't understand how they made auto-attack some hotkey function when in the end they can kill several birds with one stone by simply making the auto-attack/click-to-move/interact/loot functions in tac cam available in action cam.
Then to accommodate different playstyles they just have to add an option in the ingame menu.
Hell this just makes me wanna sign up for the beta cause it's almost like they dont know what they are doing!
EDIT: Well, guess beta is closed, oh well, beta testers - what the heck are they doing?!

Beta has been closed since a bit before Patch 5 was released ![]()
Patch 5 has been released? It says patch 4 on the news section.
I'm so out of the loop with DAI now waiting for the game to be fixed towards the end of the year, playing other games in the meantime.
This game was rushed to release, that I've pretty much gathered by now. In the future, no more buying Bioware games at full price for me, as they seem to release unfinished games and call it 'GOTY'. On another note, EA should win the 'worst company award' for a third and fourth time.
Loaded my game after downloading the patch, had restarted a mage: unable to activate the fade rift in the Temple with the pride demon.
Fighting/movement is smoother, but I've had two crashes - one to black screen/re-boot. Playing with display set to medium, rather than low.
Are other people experiencing this as better with Patch 5?

Either they don't know how to implement M/KB interface at all, which is looking more obvious, or it is not possible to implement because of the original design.
If you wear the hat of Lead Designer then the buck stops at your desk! The tactics and classes have been gutted. The UI is disgusting.
You can't blame EA for the design of this turkey unless its because of FrostByte. But then why wasn't this issue raised?
We have had 5 patches since 18 Nov 2014. And we have a chest in Skyhold!
The much maligned DA2 was streets ahead of this sorry mess. And it had mods but no toolkit.
I run with mods from Nexus. I have custom PJ's, 1000 inventory, auto loot and can even romance Cassandra as a female Mage.
Gave up waiting for Bioware to do anything.
Check out the recent headlines. I can safely say that is probably not a reliable source, considering I can't find any other source for that rumor. It also appears to be a blog related to K-pop and Korean celebrities. Plus, some of us remember the German article about DA:I back last year prior tp release. If it doesn't come from EA/BioWare directly, don't take it at face value.
Besides, this is EA we're talking about. With DICE already in their hands, does anyone honestly believe that they'd give up that much power over one of their bigger selling companies? As Pere points out, why the hell would they do that?
<checks her clock> Yep, it's a full moon. Never mind. Carry on everyone.
That't right.. no other source for that rumour.....Guess they wanted publicity off ME4....???
So, is this alleged gameplay trailer done with Frosbite or FOX?
Which will ME4 actually be done with?
Why switch when Frostbite worked soooo well for DA:I?
Aren't the people who did such a great job with Frosbite on Inqusition working on ME4 right now?
I am unable to find this trailer... another bit of speculative fiction?
@Vash654 i confirm what you already posted, auto-attack not really that good. After the auto-attack is disengage my character won''t move anymore with my mouse. My character gets stuck. Yes already posted this in beta-forum,no reply. But lets hope this gets fixed. I've already said it before tac-cam or pause-cam is critical for players playing on hard especially on nightmaremode. The downside is tactics, not enough choices to really get into it. Feels more like action game with a little bit of rpg sauce. again for me personally, If other poeple like this sort of games thats fine by me. For me its not. Sorry for my english not so good ![]()

just this conceptual prototype but it's obviously frostbite engine.
It would appear the credibility of that web-site is in doubt, but given the problems that have arisen using it in DA:I and EAware's apparent inability to solve them, it would not surprise me if they gave up on it so soon and left us holding the bag so to speak.
Well, hypothetically, the game compiler would remain the same... say C++. The main difference is in the engine's API calls. So, as long as the engine renders the graphics on the three platforms (ie: PS4/PC/XB1) OK.. a posible switch is in the cards..... all you need to do is get the FOX engine and test it yourself for a possible go no go decision.
EA, on the other hand, sees an advantage is having all of their studios use the Frostbite 3 engine....

Do you know its limitation(s)?
ummm ... yer sarcasm meter might need a lil' tune-up there Sartoz.
Sigh... I'm so totally jaded right now....maybe Spring might cheer me up ![]()

That happened to me the first week I played the game....many moons ago.
so no one know how i make my black look black??
It's possible the CC uses a different colour pallette from the game graphics, in which case you are so ... unfortunate or vice versa. During the pre-game launch time frame, the devs had problems with eye colour pigmentation.....which frankly I could not understand.
I don't have a solution since game chars have different face colouring from the CC depending on the light source.
