Getting people's hopes up, most likely.

You BT's just suckers for punishment or wha?  Dunno whether to salute you, pity you or salute-pity you.  ;)

Getting people's hopes up? Not sure what you're talking about.

Are we suckers for punishment? No. It is no punishment. We do it willingly in order to try and help this poor development team get their **** together.

No salute, pity or any variation of the two is needed.

Patch 5 with its fixes just out, yah?  Patch 6 out to fix patch 5 already?  Nope, but hope yet springs eternal in EA land.  That is indeed some serious hope.

As to the salute?  I'll do it anyway, simply for the attempt to help fix this immense bollixed load of bollocks.

Ye all deserve it unreservedly.

As a side note, I checked DAI.exe. No version number at all. Either file or Product.

Ugh.

Why i asked i thought Patch 6 was out is all no problems.

Pity those who believe that this "game" will suddenly become amazing with "patching".

Salute those who put their time inline just to beta test something that didn't need beta testing in prior.

Not amazing, but it is quite entertaining currently, and the patches do add to that enjoyment. While the storage chest and armor tinting station are not as needed in this current campaign, they will be more helpful in the next.

What can I say? One person's trash is another person's treasure.

You like the game. I don't. I can't even finish it. Do I hate it? No. Would I recommend it on PC to any of my friends? Absolutely not! Consoles? Of course!

What are the issues you have with it on your PC? My game runs fairly smoothly on a GTX 670, and the latest patch increased FPS a little.

My GTX 970 with i5-2500k (not even overclocked!) gives me pretty smooth sail on Ultra. I had AMD r9 280X Vapor-X prior to that and similar experience: no crushes, no stuttering. My game is (and always was) bug and crush free.

My issues are THE controls, THE UI and infinite boredom of single player mmo...

I have no issues with controls, UI, or solo MMO's, so am generally pleased with the results. However, the game is huge, so each fairly complete replay is about the same as two other sessions of the prior titles. So this may mean fewer Inq's, but possibly more replay time.

Still, would like to see DLC or a mod for auto-harvesting; may increase the pace a bit.

No sarcasm intended; played SWTOR solo, and the worst thing there besides a lack of pause functionality was the throng of other Players. The majority were civil; mostly just looked alike with the same companions. But there were a few Griefers, and the lines for some public quests were a bit long at times. In this regard, DAI offers the best and removes the worst, plus adds Pause.

As for controls and UI, I have had little issues with a basic KB&M, though I do understand that not being able to re-key a gaming mouse may be disappointing. The controls are better for me than SWTOR, Skyrim, and the ME series, and the UI has not been any trouble at all.

Jump/Goto is not how subroutines work, in C/C++/Pascal anyway. A sub routine is encapsulated, a GoTo just jumps to your own code.

You misunderstand. At the very basic level, all subroutines use a jump. This is abstracted out in higher level languages, but the jump is still present.

We're EVERYWHERE mwhahah. :P

Yeah I suppose we do have to me a bit masochistic, or at least head cannon our toons that way to do what we do to them LOL.

Why i asked i thought Patch 6 was out is all no problems.

The version number of the game (viewable via uninstall a program) is a bit confusing, it's one higher than the patch number so, patch 5 is version 1.0.0.6. Easy mistake to make.

Technically true, But then an IF-THEN-ELSE construct is also a jump = GOTO,  from a machine code perspective.

From a human code writing viewpoint, GOTOs can be awful to follow. personally, I was never a purist with regards to "Thou Shall Not Code Any GOTOs". Probably my assembler background where branch instructions are pervasive.... 'cause a branch intruction = GOTO.

I think getting the game to play well with mouse/keyboard and working out bugs introduced by last patch is the priority with the beta testing.  Unsure if I'll sign up for the next beta test if there will be a another.. It's really hard to look at the skyhold outfit unmodded for so long and going out on collection quests.

Exactly, work on the mechanics and functionality before the cosmetics of the game. As much as I hate that SKyhold outfit and, want it changed, unless a simple solution can be thrown in last minute with the bigger stuff, it can stay as is for a bit longer.

I think I would be okay even if they just recolored the outfit red/black/gold to go along with the Inquisition colors. I imagine it's some sort of technical issue of getting rid of it altogether and letting us just wear armor. If clipping is the reason for why the outfit is there, once again please just let us deal with the clipping since there is a lot of things that clip through objects already anyway.

Why not just let folks tint it?

Or is that too hard?

Ha, Bioware is NOT being up-front about this whole Skyhold outfit fiasco.

How come modders are able to write a simple little script in Cheat Engine to allow your character to keep his/her armor on at Skyhold, but Bioware STILL has not offered any such solution?

I've heard the clipping excuse from one of the devs. What a load of guff! They really insult our intelligence sometimes...

Let it be known: There are absolutely NO clipping issues with wearing armor in Skyhold. Absolutely NONE whatsoever!

And I can say from personal experience, it is MUCH better to have armor equipped in Skyhold.

It makes logical sense that there is a trigger in the game code that says "as soon as you enter Skyhold, unequip armor and weapons"

WE DON'T WANT THAT, BIOWARE!!! Have we not made it perfectly clear by now? It is pointless and stupid.

If they were able to ADD such a ridiculous trigger in the first place, it should be pretty easy to undo it. So why has it not happened? Who knows....

As I beta test more, I just begin to realize the utter lack of quality/details of weapons/armor in DAI.  Did the art team hire a inept intern to do this?  Who was the brilliant person who came up with the cheese wheel shield?  Please tell me it is some internal joke I'm not understanding. It must be the same individual responsible for one of the first unique swords you run into early on in the game.  The one that looks like a metal tree branch of some kind.  sweetish fingers or something like that.. grr

Yeah....the cheese shield and the banana axe...because EVERYONE wants that rubbish!

And yes, armor and weapon details are pretty disappointing especially considering the rendering capabilities of Frostbite 3.

Don't even go look at Lords Of The Fallen's incredibly detailed gear, it will really depress you...
