Well, I think it's better not to break more stuff while pushing a patch that supposed be fixing things (like ZoS is doing with the TESO)

Just looking around and looking for alternatives to a good tactical rpg now. In some cases Divinity: Original Sin was brought up. Never played it myself
Divinity Original Sin is a fantastic game. It's got that sort of weird European humor, but its an isometric game with turn based tactical combat.

I know it was said a thousand times over, but I feel the urge to repeat: Hey! Bioware! Your console port to pc is absolute GARBAGE!
I am so outraged that I bought a pc game with controls optimized for console users, I have no words.
So I will just quote my experience, expressed in a much politer manner then it deserves to be:
If you're playing a warrior and you knock someone back and you're holding down attack button because your hand hurt, too bad now they're out of range and you're waiting out a long period of pointless animations. If you're playing a range class, have fun spamming click button like you're playing minesweeper or something
No longer can you click and move because that doesn't exist on consoles. If you click anywhere your character does their attack animation which is very long so you're sitting there wasting time. No longer can you click on loot to pick them up because that doesn't exist on consoles so you're forced to run up to them and click open button which is so daft as to why they decided this should be forced on PC players. (Btw if you miss click you're attacking and waiting out the animation again). Used to holding down mouse button to change your camera angle? Too bad watch this attack animation for couple seconds. Can't see the rift because it's bloody in the sky and you want to change your camera angle? Watch this cool attack animation.

I just want to know why Zevran is offering me a mission on my wartable... I killed him in DA1.. dead, DEAD!! Now he's all like.. he, I see you are working with the crows, why don't you let me get in on that.. WTF!!!
Apparently my "import" of my DA1 history just glazed over this fact..

Have you tried running the game in windowed mode or windowed fullscreen for a while, turn off origin in-game aswell? Just a tip, hope it works for you.
Before getting my refund, I attempted all of the following, as well as some things I've forgotten.
- updated drivers
- updated/reinstalled C++
- reinstalled DirectX twice
- "repaired" the game twice
- clean reboot
- created a new admin account
- both origin and DA3 shortcuts set to "administrator"
- underclocked
- cranked up the fan all the way
- disabled Origin in-game overlay crap
- played with Origin set to offline mode
- changed Nvidia graphics card's "power management mode" to maximum performance
- made a new character
- changed the graphic settings to "low", and turned off all the ones that had that option
- deleted a bunch of files at the behest of an EA Games advisor
None of it worked, thus the refund.
Edit: yes, I did the windowed mode routine as well.

I do not know if it complete tone deafness or intentional misdirection, but this was clearly designed for a PC using a controller, not not for a what 99.9% of PC users mean by being designed for a PC platform which means keyboard and mouse.
I am an old PC gamer going back to release play of the first true PC games. I have tried using a controller for weeks at a time on a number of games and find them terrible compared to keyboard and mouse. I understand there are folks who grew up using them and find them natural but they cannot begin to do what a properly designed k&m interface can do. With mods, my Skyrim game has literally every key on the keyboard hotkeyed to something and I remember what they are all for.

I'm not seeing any crashing to desktop, just a crap ton of bugs. SLI fix for the flickering textures, etc, is on my wish list. Control, camera modifications need looking at as well. I had a couple of moments where the sound would stop. Not all of the sound though, just voices, and attack sounds. Could still hear the environmentals. I managed to fix the cutscene issue by adding a switch to the EXE. Random bugs include quests that magically completed. I.e, was told to talk to a guy about my horse. I saved, came back later, and the quest had resolved itself, and I was told to just get the horse. Sometimes my adventures end up on top of trees, or looking like they are stuck on top of large rocks, etc. If I move far enough away, they rejoin the party. Fog is over saturated but only if SLI is enabled. Its a shame the play testers never saw any of this, and I suppose if you take SLI out of the equation, the other problems are not real deal breakers. I also have the game on the PS4, and many of the issues above don't apply. Less problems, but still not as polished as it could be. The money is in the consoles, and that's where EA would want their partners to focus. I get that from a business perspective, but if thats the case, don't release games for the PC at the same price, without putting the time needed to make it a true PC experience. Simply not the same crowd.

It wasn't designed for the PC at all. It was just ported over pretty much as is, and the original game, being a console game, was designed for a controller.

@CarnieHeart,
- both origin and DA3 shortcuts set to "administrator"
Try to run it without ''as Administrator'', worked for me (no more DX crashes) so you can try that too.
Edit: Oh wait, you have a NVidia GPU, so It won't probably work anyway, when I was using nv card I have crashes too in many games like Dead Rising 3 or Sleeping Dogs, now with AMD GPU I don't have any, just saying..

No big issues for me just some annoying things :
- Mouse button not recognize! --> hey we are on PC so the mouse is our best friend. Please allow us to click on!
- Blue screen when we go a little bit to far on graphics settings (with the beta drivers) --> really! a crash of DAI is enough
- Disable Origin in game to increase game experience --> no comment
- Framerate stability --> from 200 max limit to 25 fps (or lower) it's not very stable
- Is it possible to see PNJ on top camera while we are under trees (not very comfortable for fight --> where am I?)
- Menu interface --> Not PC friendly (except trees power)
- and finally Auto-attack --> I need to select attack again if I changed my target but without action from me I want to attack the same ennemy
For the rest, thanks for the game, it's really huge in terms of content, you made a great job.
It's quite graphically descent (after DA2
). regarding story... it's too early for me, I am exploring first!

Funny how the thread degenrated from well constructed feedback to uncoherent whining
I really do believe that Blizzard should hold QA training seminars for the industry.
You really weren't SC2 player and Esports follower for the last year of Wings of Liberty. Zerg was utterly broken and the Broodlord-Infestor composition was unstoppable, and we are talking about a game which was (and still is) played for a large sums of money, with players who make a living out of the competition. It took an ENTIRE YEAR to fix the mess (which they introduced in the first place, by buffing Infestor's Fungal Growth ability). They reintroduced twice the battlenet interface. Each time to HORRIBLE bugs which took about 2 months each update to patch.
Diablo 3 was a massive debacle, but that game I didn't even bother so I can't comment much outside the hatred of the always online DRM and the notorious error 37. AFAIK it took them a period of a year and a half to get rid of the god awful auction house, fix the drop rates and add significant endgame content (still vastly inferior to Path of Exile).
Blizzard (especially since Activision) isn't really the go-to company here.

That's a shame, because as that games stands today it's fantastic. You're right though, they made some questionable decisions. The Auction House pissed me right off, but I give them props for removing it (never thought that'd happen). There reason was exactly my reason: that it undermines the core of the game.
They've now refocussed on what makes the Diablo franchise great, and Diablo 3 has benefitted greatly from that.

You tearing me apart BioWare
Here's some fun story of mine.
First it appears that this masterpiece requiers Quad Core CPU only, fine it's 2014 after all(Battlefield4 runs nicely on DC CPU thoug). Got a used Q9300 from a friend. Then my motherboard breaks up. Oh, my dear P5Q, you worked so well this 7 years. Fine, i have a P5QL at my job. Lets play already! But then evil controller appears! No you cannot plug keyboard/mouse and gamepad at the same time, bad user! Bad! Fine. Then it starts to crash randomly for no reason. Some say it's all about video ram size (It's alway about size). I have GTX760 2Gb. Fine, let's go with low settings. Still crashes. Lets set EVERYTHING on ultra, runs fine, no freezes, low fps but fine. Still crashes. FINE! I'll quicksave every 5 minutes! But then people refer to my MALE mage as "she"... GODDAMNIT. Oh, and apperently game needs only 2Gb ram out of my 8Gb. Awesome! And all this trouble for some GAME.
yeah, but.... did you get your money's worth? They say this game can be played for about 100 hours. Others, many on this forum, say this game can be played over the course of a week or longer. There is a rumour the game lasts for months, possibly years and without any upgrade.
Another rumour says that pre-orders of DA4: THE MMO will offer vouchers for physical rehabilitation therapy in place of Dragon Age in-game extras. Marketing may spin this as immersion and player engrossment rewards.

I stumbled upon an issue, I think it can be called as a bug.
Evacuate Haven Quest - Enemies are being stuck on the wooden fences while trying to jump over them (when they are entering the encampment). Sometimes they can not be targeted via tact screen.
Also, sound is an issue for me. When I load a savegame ambient and combat sounds are being delayed about a couple seconds, until I reload.

Just looking around and looking for alternatives to a good tactical rpg now. In some cases Divinity: Original Sin was brought up. Never played it myself but I just looked at the metacritic scores:
D:OS is an AMAZING turn-based Isometric RPG. It has all of the strategy that people complain is missing from DA2/DA:I. The game is insanely fun, and there literally is a million ways to play the game. It encourages thinking outside of the box. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants a turn-based strategy RPG.
