I can't help but feel that if Bioware had actually remembered why people like Dragon Age Origins so much then this thread wouldn't have happened, or would have at the very least have been far shorter.

I swear at times that they seem embarrassed by Origins.

They are embarrassed by it...their inadequacies and mediocrity are so obvious in the light of the first game!... and they are envious of it's brilliance and like Athena punishing Medusa out of spite for her superior beauty, they convert it into something so twisted beyond recognition that it turns us to stone as we play it!

I've just encountered a bug or at least I think it is with my game I've been playing on Hard and was noticing the fights were extremely easy so I checked options and my game is set on casual ok maybe I adjusted for some fight but didn't realize it so I reset it back to Hard and saved. Jumped into a battle to close a rift and zap those bad guys went down way way to easy checked options and game reset itself back to casual everytime I jump into a fight the game automatically changes difficulty back to casual. Anyone else experience this issue?

I just tested this out. My difficulty did not change.

I first played Origins on the Xbox 360 and thought it was great. Quick keys for powers but everything was available through the radial menu. Even now if I jump back on it, the only thing I find restricting is the lack of isometric camera. Yes it has been cut-down from the PC version but it was by no means a lesser game.

Yet that talent that created two brilliant control schemes that played perfectly to the strengths of the two primary control options (controller. keyboard and mouse) has seemingly vanished.

The keyboard and mouse scheme really does feel as if it were an afterthought. I can understand that the console versions were their priority since that is where they would make the most sales, but PC seems to have lacked even the smallest measure of care. Hell I don't like to praise the game but even Dragon Age II shows more care and attention to the PC player than Inquisition.

I only ever play on PC, so I don't know much about the console playability. I was just going by what I remember people mentioning. Lack of auto attack and other issues on the consoles.

But I agree, the PC controls are sad in this game. Why can't we have good game play on both platforms?

A.I. problems should be addressed immediately. I'm having a really hard time in my nightmare playthrough because my party keeps staring at the foes while I'm fighting with them. They are not moving, just watching the battle. I issue commands and then it's all the same again.

It happened to me several times in the first playthrough and I finally let it stay because frankly, on a PC, that's the only way I could play the game without losing my ****.

Bioware has a long laundry list of stuff to fix and yet, I am still hopeful it will be polished by May 19 or so. If not, I will move on. I love Bioware and I hope they understand this, but relationships end when the one side stops trying.

Paragraphs, my man. Paragraphs!! :)  On my 2560x1440 screen I had to hit Ctrl+ many, many, many times!

EA got heir money and GOTY. So as far as their are concerned, they don't give a rats' tuches about what gamers' think.

at 4am, with no coffee, I'm lucky if I can spell my own name right, let alone make proper paragraphs.

I noticed that from my first play-through, figured the dirt & grass was being used as insulation, as iirc that was a thing in various parts of Europe during the darkages, and there abouts.

I'm with you on this SSV Enterprise, but apparently... (snort)... it's *SUPPOSED* to be there. I swear, it was a wild acid trip I was on when I first saw that and birds flying through mountainsides. Then that overly aggressive bear does a superman landing on me and well... my standing-still mage didn't enjoy the 'trip.'

lol!

Grass roofs have been around since the medieval days . The soil provides a great degree of insulation during the winter and during the rainy season the soil and grass provide a great water barrier. The whole thing is making a comeback  in a countries like Norway and Sweden. This is where Bioware got the idea from.

Anyone experienced flying loots? I mean you kill an enemy and loot "drops" to the air. Unreachable, force you to load from your last save for not to miss that loot.

SIgh, i'm getting tired here, the game is going nowhere and by all standards is a dead product right now. I wish i never spent those 50€ and i'm not saying that lightly, since even destiny was pretty much worth the money for me....

Have had some floating loot, but only a very few times. Quicksave and reload appears to do the trick; something I may have learned from a prior game (ie; NWN1).

You know what? I just came to the conclusion that I need to visit the Netherlands. I want to see grass on roofs while there... in Amsterdam. Yeah. Looking up prices on airfare now.

Nope, but I still experience 'flying' NPCs (well they're hovering 2 feet above the ground), not a lot, but when I do see them I can't stop laughing  :P  Sometimes it's just half their body which is flying, so they have one leg on the ground, while the other is hanging in the air, weird. Funny, but weird

I check back here now and again to see if my concerns about the controls and tac cam is fixed so I can continue my playthrough. It seems like it's a waste of time. My motivation for playing this game is by now depleted.

I get that making a story compelling for everyone everytime can be hard and I except that personally I can't like every direction Bioware takes the story but I do expect a game that is fun or at least playable. Not like this game.

Bioware was one of my most beloved developers since the kotor day's. I was so certain of the quality of their games in the past that I even bought a Xbox 360, which I had no interest in whats so ever otherwise, only because it was said that Mass Effect would be exclusive for that format.

After being this disappointed in DA:I and the handling of the PC community thread from Bioware I've come to the conclusion that I wont buy the next Mass Effect nor any other game from Bioware for that matter before I've tested it in some manner and see that it's controls isn't a nightmare.  I feel sad that it has come to this I hope I'll see Bioware return to their former glory but I wont hold my breath.

This is Lord_Ziljon, last survival of the consolification of our beloved bioware games, signing off.

For those of you pointing to Witcher 3 as being the antithesis of the "broken" control-scheme of DA:I, here's a preview from a journalist: http://www.neogaf.co...d.php?t=1014355

And I quote:

Maybe NOW you'll get with the times, and realise that playing with a controller make you no less of a PC gamer.

you know, I've played several games with kb+m, and then controller. If you are used to controller, the controller feels more natural. If you are used to kb+m, guess which feels easier. I've done this for Borderlands series, and Witcher. Weirdly enough. And only once I'd console gamed a bit, did the controller feel ok for each.

In short, dear troller, Go Forth and Multiply.

Gadzooks. Airline prices are nutso. However, there are regular... REGULAR, LIKE TWICE A WEEK REGULAR, Group trips to Netherlands to lower the costs. Huh. We're all playing a stupid game of cat and mouse and yet, twice a week, people all over the US are going to the Netherlands twice a week. Wow.

Casuals, mostly on consoles, are where $$ is, and EA/BioWare has taken this route for the AAA games now. Hence the blatantly obvious console interface and controls, lowering of difficulty and James Bond styled main campaign.  It has been 4 months since the release of this game and we still do not have even 5% improvement in our PC gaming experience. It reflects how the old loyal fan base is being treated. I do not know why they are alienating their loyal fan base in the pursuit of some stochastic new next gen modern loyal gamers  because in the end, most of them are casuals now. EA/BioWare indeed has tons and tons of casuals. Casuals are similar to Justin Bieber fans. They only follow the hype and remain loyal for a short while and then move on. We are nothing but a noisy minority who will either adapt to the present conditions or abandon the franchise itself and seek something that will satisfy our tastes. Either way BioWare and EA do not give jackshit about about both the parties; the number of units sold is the only priority. I wouldn't be surprised if they have more devs working on the multiplayer since that's where the $$ are pouring in continuously.  They will happily and willingly throw away the entire base under the truck if it got them Skyrim-like sales. Once you lose the loyal fan base, you will surely get in trouble.

This games is obviously enjoyable for most of the newcomers and the graphics whores(Dragonknight's review on metacritic). It does have some enjoyable parts, true, but it does not increasingly offer what i seek from BioWare. Great Stories with great combat, where my decisions matter. What do we gain by clearing Exalted plains or Fallow Mire? How does it effect the story? Please do not give the excuse of acquiring "Agents". Agents are 95% useless since all they do is speed up War table quests. Practically, clearing all the areas available has no effect on the story and the people around us. Just go through the main campaign and finish the story withing 10-15 in game hours and that's it. Not worth the price tag.  If our opinions still do matter, stop dumbing the game down. Stop going open world. Bethesda will always outclass you in that department. I do not play Dragon Age for open world settings. I play for it's story, complex characters and decisions, where they matter.  Keep your game unique.

Whoa!! It says controller feels superior to  KB/M. The same can be said about DAI. That is in the hands of the developer or perhaps the reviewer is not "au fait" with KB/M. I think the W3 options will have a lot more choice then this POS,

Playing with a controller does not make you a PC Gamer, it makes you a gamer playing on a console.

I'm assuming that the W3 devs will learn from Bioware's mistakes. Hopefully.

The whole Dragonknight review is sacasm. I read the whole review back in december, i wanted to know how the f. hell can somone give a 10/10.

This is the most hilarious part :D:
"By having a cohesive reasonance of 2 best elements from 2 outstanding RPGs, and adding tons of creative elements, this game simply becomes one larger than the sum of all parts."
