It's running at triple its usual memory for me atm (idling!), so it's definitely doing something shonky.
Holy crap! "Shonky" sounds a bit optimistic.

Try setting Origin to safe downloading mode (in the advanced settings). That was the only way I could get it to work (it was kind of slow, but not too bad).
This is the first time I've ever had a problem updating through Origin, so there's definitely something wonky going on somewhere.
Mark and Aaryn confirmed that the DLC will release tomorrow for Xbone and PC (along with the trailer for everybody).
Thanks! I'll give that a try the next time I can stand to look Origin in its big orange O.
As to the DLC, have they decided how much they're gonna try and milk everyone for it?
One question for them what managed to download the patch: remember the Black Emporium? Is that in this patch or perhaps conveniently in the DLC? I don't recall the notes saying.

I just did a computer restart and am running a game repair so we'll see how it goes.
There has been some in-camera discussion re; that app. ![]()
Re: BE. It was only tested with the testing of P5, and was always intended to be separate DLC not a part of any patch--however, whether it is a part of this specific DLC has not been confirmed.
DLC is going to be released tomorrow.
LOL no slick. DLC TRAILER is going to be released tomorrow.

Is this really the patch 6?
No follow attack for melee?
JPR out
Try binding that autokey button in your settings.
It's not a perfect "autoattack" but melees do follow. (Tested that bloody thing for hours on my warr).

Of course it hasn't. This is my shocked and dismayed face.... one second....
... no wait....
.... nope, dammit... ah!
That's better.
Y'know, if Bioware were a religion, at this point it would have five devouts left and three of them would be Elhanan.

Actually several sites have confirmed with Aaron Flynn that the DLC is out tomorrow.

ETA: And there we go, comp restart plus repair and Origin's back to its regular only-painfully-bloated self. Better than the "OMGWTF-bloated" it was before.
Looks like I won't need to buy that hat:

*snip for teaser promo art for teaser promo trailer that promos the game while teasing the people who can't play it.*
When I first saw this post and wrote out my reply. I was completely and utterly ropeable. An overwhelming amount of emotions swept over me causing an impulsive tirade of abuse to flow from my mouth(fingertips) resulting in everything I reread to myself amounting to nothing more than profanity-laden gibberish and nonsensical jibes.
After taking a while to compose myself, I've found a more grounded way to get my point across. Now this rant will be fairly long, but hopefully somewhat structured. There will also be a tl;dr version at the bottom for the more *casual* readers (oh no I'm appealing to the casual demographic).
BioWare is officially dead. Done, dusted, gone. Yes I know we've been screaming this since DA2 was released but now it's concrete. Their name should just be dissolved and studios re-branded with an EA prefix... Or something even more generic for all three like EA creative studios, or EA Art-R-Us offices or... to save time, here's a list of names that could work..
- EA RPG Studios
- EA Dialogue Wheel Workshops
- EA Romantic Pixel Productions
- EA Artistic Takeover Offices
- EA For PC Gamers Studios
- MONTR-EA-L, E-AUSTIN and E-DMONTON-AYE (because they're Canadian)
When EA took over BioWare back in 2007, I can only assume the reason they even kept the name was part of some sort of contract or agreement, or as an elaborate plan to placate the fans into ignorant bliss that not much had changed "under the hood" since they still bore the same name. Unfortunately strategies like this only last so long as the internal structure is re-worked. If an object's parts are removed and replaced with copies of it's original parts is it still the same object? The answer is no and the same is true for BioWare. In BioWare's case it's worse than that as they struggle to even resemble the same company. And because it is so obvious they are not the same company made up of the same outstanding individuals and company principles/models that were once present... Because their 'tone from the top' has changed so drastically. Any and every product that EA pumps out under the BioWare name is a complete disgrace to the BioWare whose games we could all once love and cherish. The proverbial salt in the wound.
Now despite all this bashing I understand enough to know that just because EA are a cheap and nasty giganormous super-conglomerate verging on monopolization of the industry, it doesn't necessarily mean that they're making money. In fact the recent closure of the Maxis studios is evidence to the opposite. But when your crown-jewel, gambling-glorifying game series FIFA rakes in over 1.5 billion dollars profit in over a single year, and you're still not turning a buck. Maybe down-sizing or at least rethinking your business model isn't such a bad thing to do.
Which brings me to my next point. What does this have to do with Dragon Age Inquisition?
tl;dr - When your business model is to make games to make money instead of the opposite, you start to alienate more and more of your fanbase as you begin to include things in your game because it will make money as opposed to it making sense. And releasing a DLC for Dragon Age Inquisition when the base game is unplayable for enough people that you actively make a point of fixing it, is a giganormous super-conglomerate slap in the face to your consumers who would have otherwise purchased your content, and in turn, it does not make sense to do it yet it is profitable to do so, so they did it. In doing this your company is not only hurting its consumers but it's hurting your company as well. No-one is winning here.
Bioware's still on my shyte list--but I remain stubbornly kind of optimistic-ish.
My dear Bethgael, you live in a beautiful country with hardy and admirable people. And where even the grass doubtless stalks and eats things at night in some appropriately horrific Aussie creature-ish way. Optimism - and likely kevlar undies - seem like an rather ingrained Australian trait to me. ![]()
I can't help but feel that if Bioware had actually remembered why people like Dragon Age Origins so much then this thread wouldn't have happened, or would have at the very least have been far shorter.
I swear at times that they seem embarrassed by Origins.
So, the 'ultimate party' thing they had going last week on twitter. Results are Warden, Alistair, Morrigan and Varric. That must burn. lol
I imagine a description will go up when it goes on sale. And the folks who run the wiki will no doubt have it well-documented within 48 hours.
The name and the achievements seem to indicate that it takes place in the Frostbacks and has something to do with the Avvars.

Yeah, the kevlar itches sometimes, but what ya gonna do? Or that could be the midges. 'Swot I get for living next to the wetlands a swamp. ![]()

Couldn't figure out why game would not launch. Now I see its updating. OMG ,I hope they don't break it again.I just ordered a EVGA GTX 970 to replace my 680.I have a pair but didn't bother to install the other 680 due to what people said about pathetic SLI support and I could never get skyrim to run right in SLI either...Mammoths floating up into the air and then falling to their death and all.
They are trying to kill modding? Surely they can't be that stupid.
It's probably just patch incompatibility no?

Well... DLC. Nice, I guess. Not buying it until the controls are fixed. I can't bring myself to play Inquisition until that is done so there is no need for me to buy the DLC. I really hope they get things fixed soon. There is no point in buying DLC for me if the game is a chore to play.

Angry Joe just posted his angry rant about BF:Hardline. Just what Bioware needs, another fire for EA to put out.

Hey, if you like, I can find some way to send you some real winter, if you're missing it at all. Records broken all over Atlantic Canada this year, with some totals in some areas topping five hundred centimeters.
Pretty much fed completely the hell up with it, meself.
I'm happy with this patch because it seems the game is finally running stable. Its like, playable now.
No way until it's tested on PC.
I doubt that the Jaws of Hakkon fixes the PC KB+M issues nor the tac cam. It probably was part of the original game which was cut out and now is sold as a DLC. My opinion, of course.
In any case, it is now confirmed that resources are diverted to MP + DLC support + development.
Is it? I must have missed where they said that. I was led to believe Xbox folks got it first and for a month before anyone else.
If for both PC and Xbox now, someone must have woken up and remembered that extremely possible huge dip in cashflow and gave it a rethunk. Brains happen, if slowly.
*Shrug* Still utterly indifferent to it, aside from how hard it will likely fail, I'm afraid. It's difficult to expect much from this company any longer.
The patch is pushing 1.4Gb, by the way, at least for me. Oops. Just under a gig and nine days for it or something. Efficiency is an art too, though not in this instant.
I need to know the total download size as I have a cap. Thanks in advanced.

Good to hear. Do you run on a Nvidia GPU?
