ATTENTION!!!!!! - JUST AS A WARNING FROM A PC GAMER TO FELLOW PC GAMERS -  CENSORSHIP MUST BE STOPPED - IMPORTANT PLEASE READ

Look, I know this post is incredibly long, but I learned a valuable lesson today and I want others to also. Call me crazy, stupid , trolling or even a liar, that is fine but just READ IT

Just noticed an article on PC GAMERS website about the newest DLC for DA:I , the author has an interview with a Bioware game dev and essentially was praising him for DA:I. Yeah thats right PC GAMER.com, a site marketed towards PC GAMING praising BIOWARE about a game that currently is absolutely HORRIBLE on PC!  Now I can say this because I paid $70+ for this game and have not even played more then 10hrs and quit when I reached the horrific blinding white fog and after I could no longer handle the stuttering and constant texture flicker.

Not once in the interview about the games DLC does the author mention the issues PC gamers are having, which is strange wouldn't you agree?  After remembering the relentless advertising campaign PC GAMER.com had for Dragon Age Inquisition things started to become quite clear to me. This was not a truthful article I was reading, this was a designed DLC commercial disguised as an article! How, as a pc gaming targeted demographic website could you possibly talk about DA:I without mentioning its universal PC buyers regret or even  this thread?

So being the advocate for others learning from my mistakes or should I say EPIC mistake of buying DA:I, I decided to make the very first post under the article. I was the first to post it appeared as no one who read the article before me had posted ( in retrospect OR HAD THEY???)  which didn't surprise me as the article had just gone up. There was however, something that happened that did really SURPRISE ME.

So I wrote in my cordial post about the issues many of us have been having with this game. I also linked our EPIC mega thread here to steer people in our direction to properly warn people reading this article that the author was praising a game that doesn't deserve praise on its PC platform at the moment. I said many of us on the PC version feel we have been ripped off by false advertising and more then 90% of us would instantly accept a refund if we were offered one after encountering these bugs.  I simply stated in my post I found it strange in an interview about a PC game wrought with issues by a PC gaming website, that this PC COMMUNITY CONCERNS thread  or any of the games issues was completely ignored and disregarded.

Well imagine my surprise when someone else posted that my warnings and this thread successfully deterred them from making the mistake many of us feel we made. They thanked me for my honesty and said this Article about the DLC made them want to purchase the game but my warning and all of us here made them immediately cease.

Someone else asked if I could elaborate on said issue and when I went to post my rather lengthy elaboration ( i know lol, im doing it here too TL:DR ) , I couldn't post it , So i refreshed the page  and

I was SHOCKED at what was no longer there! My initial post was gone! , deleted by PC GAMER.Com ! Along with the post of the other reader thanking me for it! Not only was it gone, I have now become permanently banned form posting on PC GAMER.com WEBSITE!!! Hahaha Seriously ! They perma banned me! Not just my DISQUS account but an IP address ban! Seriously attempting to thwart my efforts on product awareness.   I didnt use any profanity, make outrageous claims nor offend anyone else posting as I was the "first" to post yet still, I had been banned lol -  Maybe I was actually adversely affecting their designed "advertising disguised as an article "' revenue!

As a longtime ( about 10yrs now) subscriber to their physical magazine I was appalled! Imagine such a dedicated customer being treated like this!   Maybe all the articles I have continued to read and show my financial support over the last decade have had the same designed motives around them. Motives to sell for companies not to inform buyers. Another poster reading had also noticed this removal and asked why these posts were deleted and here was PCGChris' hilariously transparent response

"The comment was deleted because it was pointlessly inflammatory and negative. Interviews have a specific focus and interviewees have a specific area of expertise: attempting to 'gotcha' developers with questions about stuff that they do not work on is not productive.

Regarding the PC version: the controls aren't great and there have been some issues with patches (though for the most part the patches have resolved issues.) Otherwise I've spent 90 hours with the game on PC and enjoyed it a lot."

-PCGChris

REALLY PCG CHRIS?  LOL Some Issues? SOME???

Turns out the folks at PC GAMING.com don't  mind playing games that are ripe with issues. Maybe he doesn't know why GPU intensive demanding games should be properly tested to run on SLI rigs. Maybe he doen't even have an SLI rig. Its not like he works for a site/magazine designed for PC gaming , oh wait HE DOES!!!!!

Immediately I canceled my subscription and will no longer EVER visit their site! Having had some contact from a managerial customer service rep who has emailed me many times over the years thanking me for my continued support for the years and years of subscription, I instantly blasted him with an email eloquently saying WTF man??? And told him the reasons I could no longer support their product , site or authenticity of their authors! I also told him I wasn't going away quietly.

DISPITE All the rage towards EA and BIOWARE at least we can all give them a kudos and some respect for not censoring our cordial posts that only contain truth without the use of   profanity or harassment. I have had posts deleted here and warnings issued but that was agreeably my fault , profanity filled posts are quite toxic and have no place in forums designed for discussion and I understand that.

So to all you who are serious about preventing internet censorship and letting the truth be spoken, I suggest you too heed my warnings about PC GAMER.com. If this is how they treat longtime customers, and suppress relevant information , do you really ever want to trust their words? I suggest visiting this article yourselves and maybe post the warnings and issues we have all been having since November. You may help make a difference in a fellow PC gamers wallet too . Though don't be surprised if you too get the ban hammer . You will also notice the types of replies that PC Gamer.com allow to be posted. Positive revenue inducing posts only! http://www.pcgamer.c...pproach-to-dlc/

I'm sincerely ashamed I ever gave that company money and even more ashamed I ever took their word as honest journalism

Anyone currently defending BioWare has no clue whats going on and how things should go. The lack of communications (here and in beta), the lack of caring about PC combined with exuberant prices for DLC means they're doing everything wrong that can be done wrong.

1. Theyre hardly replying in here and from what I understand they hardly replied in the beta forum either. This is NOT done. No, they have no obligation to interact with fans but they should. Why? Because this is how you keep in touch and keep your own company grounded. BW has instead opted to ignore criticism (something theyve done since forever) and just bow out of the conversations. They have no frigging clue how to handle their online presence and its pissing me off. Bad news is also news!

2. They obviously focussed more on the console version as indicated by lack of traditional PC controls and a poor tactical camera. Combined with a load of annoying bugs this means that the PC community was ignored once again, or at least not thought about as much as they pretended. Because that was the worst part of it, they said this was going to be a PC game and it simply wasnt. Theyre actively blocking out modding, theyre ignoring the pleading of their fanbase regarding PC controls (the thing that arguably makes a PC game a PC game) and again, are ignoring the community.

3. 15EUR is a lot of money for DLC that we know NOTHING about, and that is to top it off also timed exclusive. Yeah sure I dont get affected by it but what the actual ****? Its all the more amazing and confusing since they need to still fix things in the PC game. Yes I know different teams and all that but surely you cant deny that making DLC has put the PC concerns on the backburner

Anyway thats my rant, I hope BW makes a giant change in community support because this... this is just atrocious and I know it can be done so much better

It almost feels like half the people in Bioware now are new employees that have no experience with PC games and/or PC RPGs, had no involvement with the golden era of Bioware and just know how to create game for consoles. Hence why they were all shown in video with a freaking xbox controller, even the dev who designed the combat.

The other half sold their souls to EA and became business people. You know who I'm talking about. Those involved in the PR with got (made for PC gamers by PC gamers lol what a joke).

Those people that were part of the great games Bioware put out back in the days abandoned ship long ago.

I hope that Dragon Age Inquisition doesn't have a Hardware Limitation Activation

Article:
http://www.guru3d.co...hastly-drm.html

I opted not to play Battlefield Hardline because I decided I was done with the series. Here's the deal EA has locked the number of times you can activate Battlefield Hardline to your hardware. So if you switch out your GPU too many times, bam you won't be able to play it. That's the case for Hardline according the Article.

Post your original comment here, disqus should have a copy of it.

Great idea, Damn I wish I thought of that! My anger and outrage at the time blinded my logic :)

I only use one email account for everything. That's me just binge stubborn and not having to remember more passwords, you know your getting old when you have a book of passwords beside your $5k gaming rig only protected by the passwords contained in the book lol But  most of us know most security threats come from that Ethernet cable not your front door :) .

So here is the problem, after being incredible angry about the ban, I tried to create another DISQUS account using the same email address to reply to the fellow PC gamer insisting elaboration.

Problem was you can apparently only have one DISQUS account per email address, so I figured whatever, I have 9 posts tied to that account ill delete it and create another one and post once again if only just to link this thread. WRONG , I deleted old account , made another tried to post but still couldn't due to the ban.

Angry but not deterred, I remember I indeed must have another Email address for my Windows account . I searched through my 1 inch thick password / EVE online journal (lol don't judge me)  found the address and password , logged into 1589 new unread emails lol,  quickly created a new DISQUS account to post in the article  before PCG Chris convinced another to waste thier money and BOOM . Still got the you are banned message . That is how I determined it was an IP ADDRESS ban.

TL:DR  My Original post is gone along with the first deleted account. But I did just notice your LINK to here on that particular article - CHEERS!  Good work my friend , good work

The gamers that buy their products gets the shaft.... Honestly, I don't understand that type of thinking.

I will depend on player youtube videos, metacritic user reviews and user ratings mainly. Of course i should not abandon common sense while evaluating the information from the hc-fans-nomatterwhat videos and reviews. Its a shame i trusted bioware enough not to look for any info before i hurried to the closest store to buy their shame of a product excuse for PC game. In any case PoE wont be a console ****, since it is made for pc gamers by pc gamers. Controllers, lazybox, and awesomebuttonstation excluded.

I gave them respect, my time, and efforts. I was polite, even tried to joke with them and the other beta testers now and then, when it was appropriate. In the end I go silence from the devs.

Okay fine while we are testing and they are working on things but, a few seconds to type "Thanks for your help, patch 6 will be going live tomorrow." would have been all they needed to say but no, we didn't even get that much.

There's such a ting a courtesy, and a little of it goes a long way. Not even taking 10 seconds to say "Thank you." is a great way to say you don't care and aren't listening to the person and, that's what the devs did to us.

Yes I'd accept an apology, if I thought they meant it but, the silent treatment is not what you do to your players and, especially not to volunteer beta testers.

Would you think much of a boss that totally ignored your family after they provided a couple of dishes for the company picnic voluntarily? No, you'd expect at least a "Thank you." form your boss, some acknowledgement of their efforts. Even if the boss said to you "Tell them thank you for me." Okay but to totally ignore volunteer efforts?!?!?!???

Agreed; last November when I started. While my current gameplay has slowed due to RL interference, there are many reports of multiple campaigns, so am pleased with the patch and DLC progress thus far, and hopefully mods in the near future.

Well, you get the respect you give, and from what I've seen of a lot of you, you rail against the devs non-stop. Hyperbolic silliness at its... best. Perhaps if you were to talk to them like you're not a troll in your mom's basement, things would be different. But we'll never know.

Actually the beta forums are extremely respectful of the devs and the game. We report bugs, and banter among ourselves. Occasionally we'll make pointed comments about things that  [still!!] need fixing. But there was no railing.

It's also worth noting, since this is the second "in the basement" comment, that a fair number of the beta testers are adults with teenaged children of their own, who own the freaking basement and have other paid jobs. That stereotype wasn't even accurate in the 80s.

Yes, but sadly, the devs did not reciprocate (I can't believe I got that word spelling right).

Oh really now? How about you restore my post and show everyone where exactly the profanity was???

Unless you count the use of the word "pooop" in it's other form ONCE in 8 paragraphs, in which case, I'd say you were just looking for an excuse to remove a post which your boss didnt like because the truth hurts.

Well, it seems that with the PoE release (it costed me 25$) I will forget for a long time this game : with ME3, it will be the second game of Bioware where I will not buy any DLC...

And I like the game (not unlike ME3) :)

But I'm too old now to adapt to wonky-tonky kb+m controls... I need something comfortable...

And if I want to play a game with a controler, I can buy it on my console...

I will see later in the year what becomes ofthis game...

JPR out!

LOL yeah I received a warning point because their profanity filter failed to pick up a rather common swear word. Their filter failed. So I got slapped across the wrist.

Funny thing is, the less than proper alternative to excrement is not censored in the game but it is here. Bad when you get censored for typing the name of a quest in the very game the forum is about. *shakes head* makes no sense to me.

Funny, since "sperm whale" is the proper name of a water faring mammal.
