ATTENTION!!!!!! - JUST AS A WARNING FROM A PC GAMER TO FELLOW PC GAMERS - CENSORSHIP MUST BE STOPPED - IMPORTANT PLEASE READ
Look, I know this post is incredibly long, but I learned a valuable lesson today and I want others to also. Call me crazy, stupid , trolling or even a liar, that is fine but just READ IT
Just noticed an article on PC GAMERS website about the newest DLC for DA:I , the author has an interview with a Bioware game dev and essentially was praising him for DA:I. Yeah thats right PC GAMER.com, a site marketed towards PC GAMING praising BIOWARE about a game that currently is absolutely HORRIBLE on PC! Now I can say this because I paid $70+ for this game and have not even played more then 10hrs and quit when I reached the horrific blinding white fog and after I could no longer handle the stuttering and constant texture flicker.
Not once in the interview about the games DLC does the author mention the issues PC gamers are having, which is strange wouldn't you agree? After remembering the relentless advertising campaign PC GAMER.com had for Dragon Age Inquisition things started to become quite clear to me. This was not a truthful article I was reading, this was a designed DLC commercial disguised as an article! How, as a pc gaming targeted demographic website could you possibly talk about DA:I without mentioning its universal PC buyers regret or even this thread?
So being the advocate for others learning from my mistakes or should I say EPIC mistake of buying DA:I, I decided to make the very first post under the article. I was the first to post it appeared as no one who read the article before me had posted ( in retrospect OR HAD THEY???) which didn't surprise me as the article had just gone up. There was however, something that happened that did really SURPRISE ME.
So I wrote in my cordial post about the issues many of us have been having with this game. I also linked our EPIC mega thread here to steer people in our direction to properly warn people reading this article that the author was praising a game that doesn't deserve praise on its PC platform at the moment. I said many of us on the PC version feel we have been ripped off by false advertising and more then 90% of us would instantly accept a refund if we were offered one after encountering these bugs. I simply stated in my post I found it strange in an interview about a PC game wrought with issues by a PC gaming website, that this PC COMMUNITY CONCERNS thread or any of the games issues was completely ignored and disregarded.
Well imagine my surprise when someone else posted that my warnings and this thread successfully deterred them from making the mistake many of us feel we made. They thanked me for my honesty and said this Article about the DLC made them want to purchase the game but my warning and all of us here made them immediately cease.
Someone else asked if I could elaborate on said issue and when I went to post my rather lengthy elaboration ( i know lol, im doing it here too TL:DR ) , I couldn't post it , So i refreshed the page and
I was SHOCKED at what was no longer there! My initial post was gone! , deleted by PC GAMER.Com ! Along with the post of the other reader thanking me for it! Not only was it gone, I have now become permanently banned form posting on PC GAMER.com WEBSITE!!! Hahaha Seriously ! They perma banned me! Not just my DISQUS account but an IP address ban! Seriously attempting to thwart my efforts on product awareness. I didnt use any profanity, make outrageous claims nor offend anyone else posting as I was the "first" to post yet still, I had been banned lol - Maybe I was actually adversely affecting their designed "advertising disguised as an article "' revenue!
As a longtime ( about 10yrs now) subscriber to their physical magazine I was appalled! Imagine such a dedicated customer being treated like this! Maybe all the articles I have continued to read and show my financial support over the last decade have had the same designed motives around them. Motives to sell for companies not to inform buyers. Another poster reading had also noticed this removal and asked why these posts were deleted and here was PCGChris' hilariously transparent response
"The comment was deleted because it was pointlessly inflammatory and negative. Interviews have a specific focus and interviewees have a specific area of expertise: attempting to 'gotcha' developers with questions about stuff that they do not work on is not productive.
Regarding the PC version: the controls aren't great and there have been some issues with patches (though for the most part the patches have resolved issues.) Otherwise I've spent 90 hours with the game on PC and enjoyed it a lot."

REALLY PCG CHRIS? LOL Some Issues? SOME???
Turns out the folks at PC GAMING.com don't mind playing games that are ripe with issues. Maybe he doesn't know why GPU intensive demanding games should be properly tested to run on SLI rigs. Maybe he doen't even have an SLI rig. Its not like he works for a site/magazine designed for PC gaming , oh wait HE DOES!!!!!
Immediately I canceled my subscription and will no longer EVER visit their site! Having had some contact from a managerial customer service rep who has emailed me many times over the years thanking me for my continued support for the years and years of subscription, I instantly blasted him with an email eloquently saying WTF man??? And told him the reasons I could no longer support their product , site or authenticity of their authors! I also told him I wasn't going away quietly.
DISPITE All the rage towards EA and BIOWARE at least we can all give them a kudos and some respect for not censoring our cordial posts that only contain truth without the use of profanity or harassment. I have had posts deleted here and warnings issued but that was agreeably my fault , profanity filled posts are quite toxic and have no place in forums designed for discussion and I understand that.
So to all you who are serious about preventing internet censorship and letting the truth be spoken, I suggest you too heed my warnings about PC GAMER.com. If this is how they treat longtime customers, and suppress relevant information , do you really ever want to trust their words? I suggest visiting this article yourselves and maybe post the warnings and issues we have all been having since November. You may help make a difference in a fellow PC gamers wallet too . Though don't be surprised if you too get the ban hammer . You will also notice the types of replies that PC Gamer.com allow to be posted. Positive revenue inducing posts only! http://www.pcgamer.c...pproach-to-dlc/
I'm sincerely ashamed I ever gave that company money and even more ashamed I ever took their word as honest journalism
