Funny, since "sperm whale" is the proper name of a water faring mammal.

Hell, I was banned for 24 for a single word.  It cleared the filters fine, I just think the mod had never encountered a dictionary before and thought the word meant something it didn't.  *Shrug*  I did muh crime, I served muh time.

As I said elsewhere, you would think a game with a mature rating wouldn't necessarily have children, nuns or the overly-sensitive, easily offended roaming through it having their virgin eyes devirginized by we profanity-slinging trogs.  We are lusty and voluptuously profane.  Sinners all, tacky wastelanders just waiting for victims upon which to perform... uh... devirgining.

Laugh profanely with me:  H!H@H&H#H%H$!

Of course, wouldn't be surprised if talking about it is probably a bannable offence as well, so watch yerselfs.

Nothing like trying to intimidate people into silence over piddles. <_<

Well the game may be rated mature, but anyone can read the forums. I'm sure they are not interested in getting angry letters from crying grandmothers whose kids are now repeating what they read on a game forum.

Well, I just got hit by the disapproval of mods and a post deleted for the FC: Blood Dragon quote. Oops.

Yo, Vetlet -

Was it this one (it has been edited to remove the profane offensive profanity), perchance:

 - "It had laser breathing dragons. Best money waster I ever spent. "At least is not - THIS WORD HAS BEEN CHANGED TO A FARSCAPE WORD IN HOPES OF OFFENDING ONLY CONSERVATIVE DELVIANS CAUSE I'M A NERD -->frelling<--- THIS WORD HERE.  THAT ONE.  BACK THERE.  - feathers!"
Amazing..."
-

I also agree with you.  Every frelling shooter ever frelling made from now frelling on should have the frelling ability to do frelling devil horns after a frelling victory or frelling level up and make the frelling f-key frelling the frelling finger.  Frelling Perfect.

OoO! Imagine if Hawke could have done it.  DA:II would have been worth it just for that.

Just a heads-up - if you have the 'inform me of whoever quotes me" on in the prefs, the person quoted gets a email record of what you posted. Then it would just be a matter of asking them to retrieve it for you.

For your own private records of course.

Just frellin' sayin'.

Here's a thing:  when I were a lad, parents actually monitored what their children got up to, something about taking an 'interest in their lives'.  Radical idea, I know.  Also, by the time the average American kid is five, she's been exposed to a thousand times more profanity and horror than she'll ever see in this inane place.

Crazy world, innit?  ;)

Yeah, well. Logic and sense have no place in a lot of things – game forums, child rearing...

That, my friend, is unfortunately true.  When I were (again) a lad, they just plunked you in front of the tube and forgot you.  Now they buy you a phone.  Kinda have to wonder what's worse...

I said my first bad word - the Eff one - I have been informed, when I was the tender age of two or so.  So it was probably among my very first.  I guess that what's you get being brought up by bikers.

@Errationatus yes, that one! I didn't know you could monitor who quotes you!.

And I was even trying to not be offensive with how I put it. In Scotland, frell is often used as punctuation, so I thought I was being good :-/

It's not so much 'monitor'.  The email alert you get usually contains the post made to you as well.  Usually.

In the US you can rape and mutilate a woman in prime time, but her nipples and any naughty words she might use to object are considered horrible no-nos.  I'd call it a double-standard, but that'd be giving such stupidity waaay too much credit.

Canada is slightly more progressive (mind you, Iran is more progressive than a lot of the US), but not by much.  All those Puritans booted from the Isles, no doubt.  Poisonous bunch.  Your neck of the world tends to be less anally-cranially inverted when it comes to that sort of thing, if I'm not mistaken.

Also,  Alba am feasta!  (Sorry, my Scottish Gaelic is a bit - read: a lot - rusty.)

" Dubya75 above says this, "We volunteered to Beta test, not to be treated like goddamn second rate citizens!"but my post stating that "most Beta testers have Eppeens the size of sperm whales gets removed by a moderator and I get a warning...seems a bit unrealistic.

He was expressing frustration. You were directly insulting other posters. It's not rocket surgery.

I disagree, given the butt hurt and self entitlement that most of you recent Beta patch testers are expressing.  You have an inflated opinion of your importance to Bioware and I am tired of hearing the rants from you all.

Feh on your feculent fecal cakes called shards!

"Removed for insensitivity".  Is that what they call censorship now?  *Shrug*  I'm not tiptoeing verbally because some weak-minded cretin might get 'triggered'.  That's what Thorazine is for.  I don't get traumatized over words and I question the sanity of anyone who does.  There are far worse things over which we should be concerned.

Oh, well how would you like it if you volunteered to do something nice for someone and didn't get so much as a "Thank you." Say you made dinner for a sick friend then, that friend never said thank you, or even spoke to you at all again. Never told you they were feeling better, never even waved at you after you made dinner for them?

I'd wager they wouldn't be your friend after that and, that's what was done to us. We were blown off w/o so much as a "Thanks, we' don't need you anymore."

First of all, I apologize for the long post.

People started to share their PoE playthroughs on Youtube. The game looks very, very promising. I know that the numbers of the isometric RPG fans are limited but Enhanced Editions of the old classics such as Baldur's Gate and Icewind Dale sold way better than anticipated so I assume, now the genre has the attention of the new generation as well.

I'm pretty sure DAI will see tough competition from TW3 Wild Hunt but Pillars of Eternity may cause an upset on DAI PC player numbers.

I love DAI but Bioware, as a loyal friend and customer, I find your lack of competence since DA II disturbing and having a hard time on believing in your promises. I was trying to be patient and blaming the gears of the capitalist system we are all participating in for this rushed state of the game but the pricing strategy on the latest DLC showed that you certainly do not care for your fan base as much as they care for you. Anyhow, I do not believe you care about it since as you are losing some fans, you are gaining new ones.

Just my two cents though, a friend to a friend.

@ Dark I don't get all upset over a volunteer position. Most things I do volunteer for IRL are done anonymously anyway.  Wanting a pat on the back is your self esteem issues.  I just am pointing out that it is tiresome in these rants and wish you all would stop. Find something IRL that is volunteer work that you do without any recognition and learn to help others in a meaningful way. No I do not think that Beta testing a PATCH for a company is meaningful. They are a corporation, not a person in need of help.

NO, it's a common courtesy issue. Maybe you do and do and give and give to people who don't know how to say "Thank you" but I don't never have and never will. I don't take people for granted and, I don't appreciate being treated like a second class citizen.

As for volunteer work, yeah I do it if I believe in the cause and, think it will actually help and, you know what - people say thank you. It's simple common courtesy, that's all I ask. Someone does something for me, I say thank you. I don't think it's too much to ask.

I beta test for other games and, you know what - they all say thank you and, they keep volunteer testers in the loop as to when things will go live, when the next beta will begin, etc...None of that happened here, we got ignored and still have not been told anything, not even if the beta is over for good or not.

As far as I know, nothing we tested and reported bugs or errors in went anywhere but in the trash. The issues weren't fixed, we were ignored. Looks like a PR stunt that failed to me and, now they can't even admit that's what it was.

I pity you : you should have a really miserable life to think so... And btw, you don't position anonymously IRL, unless volunteer for you mean just giving money...

No organisation will accept an anonymous to help others : common sens of responsability...

Please go away : i'm not agree with some  really angry remarks sometimes in this topic, but YOU bring nothing here, apart some flame war and a twisted poor mentality...

JPR out!

Bingo! Like everything they did to promote DAI before launch.

A pitiful attempt to regain sympathy of the PC gamers and patch their game without disbursing a dime on QA. That's what I thought all along. Didn't want to intrude and be a d...to fellow Pc gamers and members of the Pc Group while it was still going on.

Now it's official. Just forget about this game Dark, if I may. No point in getting ulcers.

This from the person who felt they had to post to let us know their post was edited. Twice.

My response to your censored post was removed completely. No one noticed. No one cared. Neither do I. Their home, their rules.

In the case of the beta testers, Patch 5, we were told what was going on before it was released. This time, the devs (or dev) stopped communicating out of the blue one day and didn't bother. Until that point, the Mod who was popping in was actually really lovely. Change in attitude from an apparently working programme to something different. No one's butthurt. Or concerned about their own importance. We're disappointed in the apparent failure of a programme that we were all thinking would work--which affects all PC users; those we were trying to assist.

The people in this thread, in other words. We weren't there for freaking Bioware. They already did their dash with PC users. In the absence of further communication, we don't even know if they intend to continue with it.

If you can't understand that, then apparently there's a "thinking from B to C" problem and it cannot be explained to you.

Bioware basically asked for a hand, people replied... if I ask someone to help me carry boxes into my apartment, when they don't have to... I'm going to say thanks, and offer them some iced tea. am I wrong here?
