I disagree, I find controls sloppy and poorly implemented. When I hit "i" I don't want to have to touch the mouse again until I'm out of the inventory. I can't stand this convoluted mess of keyboard commands for some things and mouse clicks for others.

I must say this is the third sh*tstorm in a row for their three last games. Quite the record.

Nope it is not. Look at the last EA releases. All of them are... bad. Titanfall? Yes, anybody remembers that game? Anyone?

How about, Dead Space 3? Battlefield 4? Crysis 3, anybody?

It seems that every time EA even just touches a brand: it turns out to be something half-way done and rushed, like a bad arcade game with your favorite characters in it. It's like playing WarZ Infestation: Survivor Stories within a city of Neverwinter. It is playable, but I won't enjoy it.

Yeah, at that point someone should have said maybe frostbite isn't the best engine for our game, if we need to invest so much time just to simulate four legged creatures in our open world Fantasy environment...

Have to admit, it does look gorgeous though, so there's that going for it.

I don't actually think Bioware had a choice what engine they should use.

Well see it on the plus-side: If Bioware was owned by Bethesda it probably would have run on Id Tech 5.

But I see your point. I wonder how it would have turned out if they kept improving the Lycium engine for DA:I...

Super annoying how when you click on a camp on the map it centers the camp on the map instead of allowing you to double-click then OK to travel. This has become SUPER annoying after spending 70 hours doing it.

Makes a  lot of sense.  So we should be boycotting the review sites that give us these bogus reviews?

Even Angry Joe sold out.  I have unsubscribed his channel.

Hold them accountable. Shame them. Help honest people make money for honest reviews.

This guy has a nice voice, sense of humour and he is honest. He also does blind Let's Play.  He deserves your (all youse) subscription. That's my honest opinion.

I actually liked both Dead Space 3 and Crysis 3 pretty much.
I don't think Titanfall is that bad either, but it didn't turn out to be the CoD-killer they wanted it to be. But at least it has a higher metacritic user-score than any of the latest CoDs since Modern Warfare 2...

I literally could not decide, each option sounded better than the last so I have to go with all of the above.

It is good those guys incgamers.com are on this, but its really bad that no one else is.  Practically no reviews mention the issues with the PC port, and even fewer ding the score for it.

I smell corruption.  No big sites have mentioned this at all and any of the problems going on.  When destiny launched there were a ton of articles popping up and how people were angry over a lot of things like the story etc.

So on a whim i decided to do a couple things....as i've stated before while loading...at any loading screen, from start to menu, from menu to loading any area....my game would freeze and just.....sit there for like 5 to 10 minutes at a time. So i took the patch folder out and deleted it. Loaded it up and BOOM. Fast. Not 5 minutes to the menu...then it froze. Okay okay. Then End tasked it, went to "check for update" on the origin client..loaded it up again. froze before logo. Then i decided to take origin and the game off of "Run as administrator" AND turned off Superfetch (i find it useless anyway). BOOM loaded up nicely.  Now while i did all this, i'm sitting in the livingroom with mute on. So i'm going to do more testing and see what happens. I'll let you guys know what happens. Especially for those of you with the same or similar issue.

That was not what i meant, i game on pc aswell, i was replying to the ridiculous notion that console gamers care more about graphics then pc gamers, they are not the ones shelling out lots of cash to upgrade their graphics cards every 2-3 years.

Neither am I.

I have to upgrade my machine because Windows 7 won't run on it. And I have to leave XP. Windows 10 comes out around April. I will be buying my new machine in June. I won't use cheap parts. I daresay it will be top of the line, hand built. (not my hand, I have an IT friend) But I am not made out of money.

1. Nope it is not. Look at the last EA releases. All of them are... bad. Titanfall? Yes, anybody remembers that game? Anyone?

2. It seems that every time EA even just touches a brand: it turns out to be something half-way done and rushed, like a bad arcade game with your favorite characters in it. It's like playing WarZ Infestation: Survivor Stories within a city of Neverwinter. It is playable, but I won't enjoy it.

1. Then you weren't around when DA2 and ME3 came out. I'm not talking about sales (even then take a look at the charts for DA2 on the previous page of this topic). DA2 was unanimously criticized. ME3, with its dumbed down story, DLC Day 1 containing a character who was was from the utmost importance to the story and, last but not least, its memorable ending(s) triggered the biggest (organized) outcry ever seen for a video game, forcing BW to release an Extended Cut DLC after using the Indoctrination Theory as flame shield. Then that said IT was banned from BSN as soon as the storm calmed down. That's how BW treated the people who actually gave their writers a lot of credit while every one else was claiming their heads.

2.  Well kudos to you, your description is very accurate. You nailed it. As for the second, I can only understand people who don't pay 70 bucks for a half-*ssed game. Gameplay is an important part of gaming, like it or not.

So finally managed to rack up some decent game time the last few days, and have only got back online now to have a look at what other peoples impressions and opinions are.

..and yeah - the PC version feels more like a half baked port. Great game, seriously great game, but the controls are definitely curious and surprised they released in the state they did.

The loot searching, loot collection, targeting and attack, tactical cam and general camera work, are the biggest issues for me. I'm pretty competent with the game play but it feels incredibly restrictive and more difficult than it needs to be, and I'm surprised by the number of people saying PC controls are fine on nightmare, since I can barely find my mouse cursor in combat half the time.

Still though, at least from my end, the rest of the game is pretty fantastic so far and while controls are an exercise in frustration, they're the only complaint I have.

They should have also compared it to State of Decay

You have me at comparing Bioware to a state of decay.

They wanted Battlefield series to be a CoD-killer (thus the dumped down gameplay, and Hardlines oncoming anytime soon), now they tried that with Titanfall.

So to beat Skyrim and entire TES series at their own game they took yet another franchise and made a joke out of it, hoping that people will eat this dish raw no matter what. After all it's DRAGON AGE written all over it.

Ok, i am really big fan, but i have to admit , tactical mode is unplayable on PC. Its so badly designed that i cant properly fight, and this frustrating. It is nowhere close to what DA:O system was, and this needs URGENT improvement.,  Please, Bioware. I want to enjoy my gameplay, not to be angry of frustration when i can not tell to character to hold position, and after first ranged skill this directive become cancelled, where i cant barely see something , and all is very awkward.

Please, correct it, it really mess my game on PC. I do not want to buy controller, if this game made for PC it must be controllable, not just have nice stroy you can run as shooter (it is nice, really, but not enough) on easy mode. I am nightmare player, and i want PROPER tactical combat mode.

In general i am ok with the looting(having to manually walk to the item/object) and no auto attacking, it is fine.

Trying to hunt on the TES grounds is an idiotic move since TES was never story or character driven on the contrary to BW. It's like a blackbird wanting to sing like a crow. They could only fail. TES is also IMO not a reference, they might created an open world but their game is not 2 cents worth without serious modding. Bugthesda had at least the decency of releasing the modding tools and encouraging their community to improve what their own lazyness dev-team couldn't.

Oddly enough that stuff works while in tactical cam. Right click on an enemy in tac cam the character will continue to attack all day long, want to pick up loot? Right click on the loot and the character will run over and pick it up.

With the release of Dragon Age: Inquisition, we've been hearing a number of concerns from members of our PC community, including:

  • Driver support
  • Hitching and frame rate issues in cutscenes
  • Feedback on keyboard and mouse controls
  • General user interface optimizations for PC

We've been following these issues closely and are looking into them.

Player experience is a top priority for us. Our goal is to address as many of these as possible in our upcoming patches, including some in our next patch, which is underway. We’ll release further details in the coming days and will continue to monitor your concerns.

Your feedback is important to us, and we appreciate your contribution to making Dragon Age: Inquisition a better overall experience.

UPDATE:

If you are having DirectX issues and you have an AMD Radeon graphics card, please update to the AMD Catalyst 14.11.2 beta driver.

We are aware of issues with certain NVidia graphic cards and we are working with NVIDIA for a solution

When will this update release?? I paid $60 for this game and cannot even play it?? Why release a game you know is faulty on the pc?? Besides the most common issue of frame rate drops, and cutscenes being locked at 30fps did you also know that the benchmark is not working at all??

And the main problem i got is i cannot even start my game as a warrior?? Cause when i start my game, and i reach out to grab the hand of "mother" i wake up in a world thats hell know where. Its only me, a empty world with objects floating around me and i can press the attack button and i swing as if i have a sword, but im empty handed?? Are you aware of this or not??

So please, just give us a date for this update, it does not have to be spot on, just more or less..

i will record a video of my issue with the warrior and you can see for yourself what i mean....

I dont know why u guys flaming the whole time about the controls from kb&m..

I have already 64 hours ingame-time and played the whole time with kb&m (to mention i have an gamepad x360 and it sucks)

I guess the most of u just flaming because u got some crashes.

there is nothing wrong with the controls and i HOPE they wont edit them!

Just to mention, DAO Controls wasnt even better, it was the same as now (crying people) now all say "ohh back in DAO the controls was way better", if the next DA is released all will say "Ohh back in DA: I the Controls was way better"

Just deal with it "Maker damn".

Its such a nice Game and u destroy it urself by posting all this hate and such stuff..

If u have an suggestion than post it as an suggestion but not as something like ""GO Slave do that for me""

What on Earth happened to the People "Oh My Maker"

Troll is a troll :D Now seriously this was suppossed to be RPG you know like DAO.....It's ANYTHING BUT RPG - you can't distribute stats, no behaiviour that works for companions, no tactics that actually you can use etc.. And again people wouldn't complain if they had advertised the games as something new and console port, but they advertised it like "We are going to our roots adn it will feel like DAO' or "It's mainly for PC'. Sorry but, these are lies.

If you can't really understand how fluent was the control in DAO compared to this mess - sorry but you are not RPG fan as no sane person would prefer this to normal kb+m. If you are not RPG fan and don't play RPG's pls don't come over here to say how we only complain and thsese controls are actually better - it makes you look stupid.

And yes I dont'suggest they change or improve - I DEMAND It, like a lot other people. And I feel I have the rigth to DEMAND, cause I have been purposly LIED to so they can get my money. Any sane person from DAO team that worked on this game can see months before release that it's not focused on PC, it's not RPG and the controls are mess. Yet they choose to say "We dont'care, we got your money through our advertising and lies anyway", it's not even about fixes or unreasanable demands - I can live with waiting month for fix or patch for a good game. But not in case in which I have been lied to on purpose. ANY normal person in Bioware should have seen this comming - if you advertise your game is focusing on PC and then it's obvious console port with no control optimisation, you should expect people DEMANDING fix in 1/2 weeks time after the game is out. Honestly if the deadline was the problem , they should have started working on patches BEFORE the game was out. What we have in the moment though, is total disregard of their MAIN audiece....

Let me put this as well in terms you could understand better:

I work at car dealership, you come to me looking to buy Mercedes, gasoline, 2L Engine. I take your money adn we deliver your car after months of anticcipation. You then take it for your first drive and realise couple of things:

-It's not Mercedes but Toyota masked as Mercedes

-It runs on gas

-The engine is 1.3L

Now would you be pissed I lied to you, or would you keep it with no comment whatsoever "adapting" to it?

D:OS is an AMAZING turn-based Isometric RPG. It has all of the strategy that people complain is missing from DA2/DA:I. The game is insanely fun, and there literally is a million ways to play the game. It encourages thinking outside of the box. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants a turn-based strategy RPG.

We need more recommendations like this "patch."

I had the same problem and what worked for me was to go into MyDocuments/Bioware/Dragon Age Inquisition/save and delete any .DAS files. I was messing around with a few characters then I went over to the Dragon Age Keep and imported a save so that might have had something to do with it as well. Also people are saying that if you use the hack to get the cutscenes to run at 60fps that that is causing problems as well.

My game works fine but sometimes when I hit inventory button, game freezes and crashes. I also encounter this problem when I try to change buy tab to sell on a merchant.

Anyone has these issues?
