And the main problem i got is i cannot even start my game as a warrior?? Cause when i start my game, and i reach out to grab the hand of "mother" i wake up in a world thats hell know where. Its only me, a empty world with objects floating around me and i can press the attack button and i swing as if i have a sword, but im empty handed?? Are you aware of this or not??

This is a glitch. You are supposed to cut to another scene after grabbing her hand. I'm not sure what the fix is, but you're stuck in that fade area when you shouldn't be.

I had the same problem and what worked for me was to go into MyDocuments/Bioware/Dragon Age Inquisition/save and delete any .DAS files. I was messing around with a few characters then I went over to the Dragon Age Keep and imported a save so that might have had something to do with it as well. Also people are saying that if you use the hack to get the cutscenes to run at 60fps that that is causing problems as well.

Wait there is a hack to get your game to run at 60fps?? No im using no hacks....so your telling me that every time i create a character and i want to start a new character, i need to delete my old character save so my new character can create a save? Which means you can only have 1 profile at a time?? If you get what i am trying to say here?

hmm so much complaining? .... Heard about adapting?.

Heard about lying? Heard about misrepresentation? Heard about false promises? Heard about compassion - as someone helpful pointed out to you? The complaining I read here makes me feel like I belong to a strong community rather than as the outcast that sociopaths and corporations would otherwise like to make me feel until I go away

You work for Bio(hazard)ware's toxic PR by any chance?

That is a ********* travesty...

Anyone on Twitter jump on this? Anyone make a reply? Was the founder of Bioware being sarcastic? Someone send him a message.

The hack is for cutscenes since they are capped at 30fps. I'm not telling you to do anything, I'm merely saying what I did and what worked for me. I tried starting a new game about ten times after importing a save from Dragon Age Keep and everytime I ended up in nowhere land looking at that set of broken stairs. So I deleted all my previous saves except I kept the options and was able to start a new game properly. It was either that or continue banging my head against the wall and since my head was really starting to hurt I decided to take that course of action.

ps: another option would be to change them from .DAS to say .bak that way you can keep them and always change them back .DAS should the need arise.

Let me put this as well in terms you could understand better:

I work at car dealership, you come to me looking to buy Mercedes, gasoline, 2L Engine. I take your money adn we deliver your car after months of anticcipation. You then take it for your first drive and realise couple of things:

-It's not Mercedes but Toyota masked as Mercedes

-It runs on gas

-The engine is 1.3L

Now would you be pissed I lied to you, or would you keep it with no comment whatsoever "adapting" to it?

I don't know if this is the best example taking into account that Mercedes really does sell Renaults (you wish they were Toyotas!) masked as Mercedeses and some manufacturers (BMW being the prime example) really use model designations that suggest the engine is bigger than it actually is. People buy it. With smiles on their faces. You call it "lies", others call it "marketing".

I dont know why u guys flaming the whole time about the controls from kb&m..

I have already 64 hours ingame-time and played the whole time with kb&m (to mention i have an gamepad x360 and it sucks)

I guess the most of u just flaming because u got some crashes.

there is nothing wrong with the controls and i HOPE they wont edit them!

Just to mention, DAO Controls wasnt even better, it was the same as now (crying people) now all say "ohh back in DAO the controls was way better", if the next DA is released all will say "Ohh back in DA: I the Controls was way better"

There are specific criticisms of the DA:I m+kb controls and they are all valid. Here are a few: no ability to walk, no way to select multiple party members, no click to move or click to loot or click to attack, incredibly inefficient UI, awkward camera controls. Those are things that are objectively worse than they were in Origins (and DA2, for many of them). What do all these gripes have in common? They all happen when you design a game for consoles and controllers and then port it over to PC with a bare minimum of effort. It's SO BAD that a lot of people are just using controllers ... to play a PC game ... in a genre of game that was designed for people playing on a PC with a mouse and keyboard.

Is my cheek red? Because I feel like I just received a serious slap in the face.

I can understand PC playing second fiddle to console optimizations, but where were the beta testers to tell them that (T)actical camera is terrible?  The tactical pause in DA:O was exactly what I would expect here; hell, the pause-cam from Mass Effect is better.  Why do they keep giving PC less?

I set up the controls to be like they are in Skyrim, as this is what combat tries to be.

Limited number of ability slots in the toolbar?  Really?  Did I miss something?  I should be able to have my toolbar look like an MMO's.

To the trolls saying it sounds like we are complaining: this isn't a review.  I don't have to list the good here too.  This is the thread to voice our concerns so the game gets better.  GTFO.

Already we miss only a revolt ...  which I hope will not happen, but at least for mere curiosity knows quaclosa really really but really accurate when it is released on the pach?

P.S. are almost four days that do not play by all these Bug ... :)

I am sorry but its been a while now and no word, not even a forum thread with a list of fixes they have in store.

Is this usual for Bioware games?, i say that because i really enjoy this game and Origins. But i have already been forced to restart due to my characters voice changing when Hawke gets introduced.

Is it worth starting again or just wait for a patch?. not to mention the fps stutters in cutscenes and some area fps drops.

Patches, Patches, we need no stinking patches....

Click show only bioware posts - scroll down...

Don't wheel down too fast or you will miss them.

A site that bills itself as dedicated to PC Gaming is having problems getting it's review copy working from Bioware.

Interesting.

Should be a ringtone on the Bioware company mobile.

Man oh man - I just loaded up DA: O for the first time in years and wow, that game still holds up. The character creator is exactly what we needed from that game. The combat, inventory, tactical camera- why didn't the DA: I team takes notes from this game?!

The real question is if BioWare/EA is respecting their money..I mean people who buy their games especially if DAO was so well received on PC..

Sorry, but after more than week without needed fixes angry takes better of me..

Conal,

You do realize this is a very unorthodox situation, don't you?  The reactions we are seeing to this release are not typical of a major game release, at least not in regards to an entire platform being affected to such a degree.

I assume you and the rest of the design team has seen this? http://www.incgamers...s-pc-hype-video

If so, does it not warrant some additional interaction and announcements specifically directed towards the pc customer base?

We are doing our best to address these issues and concerns. Please understand that fixing and implementing these things takes time, as all things do. Until the patches are finalized, I'm afraid it would be a disservice to both the community and our developers if I were to provide incomplete information. Our team is hard at work as we speak, and we will provide an update once we have finalized information.

No - it's not the issue that it works fine with a controller: The issue is, that they said it works fine with keyboard and mouse - when in fact, it does not!

I have controller (Xbox one as I sometimes used it to play emulated games for older consoles), but I don't want to use it for a game that should have propper PC-Support (they told us it would - that it would not be a bad console port...like what you expect when you want to play Assassin's Creed, which was designed for consoles first and foremost...DA was not and should not be (remember: the best sold game in the series is DA:O and that's PC only!))

greetings LAX

I completely understand where you are coming from in that you feel you should not be compelled to play the game with a controller because the keyboard and mouse is substandard and that Bioware should address the functionality issues on these devices.  I agree with you that it would be a good thing to see the controls patched.

My comment was not addressing this point at all.  I was simply stating my experience that once I plugged in the controller the gameplay immediately improved.  I originally visited this thread because the M/K controls were annoying me and I read that the controller was a better option.  I tried it and the advice proved true, so I added my comment supporting this viewpoint for others among us who want to play the game but are finding this aspect frustrating, that they might continue to be informed (as I was) there is an immediate option available to them that can help them with their issues.

So if like me, you dislike the mouse and keyboard controls and you are able to plug in a controller and have no objection to doing so, then the operation of the game will become easier.  I am having a better experience because of it and I am grateful to the community members who provided this advice to me originally.   :)

In the first few minutes of the game I was being referred to as a woman and I had 2 sets of audio playing at the same time on a few lines. I don't know how this got out of play testing and QA on the pc. Same with the graphic bugs, those were crashing the game almost from the very beginning. Many others have already voiced appropriate feedback for changes and what would be better. My main point that I want to get to is that I trusted Bioware to make a quality product, and while I understand some bugs can happen, these ones are pretty apparent and right from the get go. I feel like the PC version was not ready and pushed out the door too soon with too little attention. If Bioware patches the game soon enough it may keep my faith in purchasing their games, but no way am I preordering anymore, not after recent launch issues with this, DA2, and ME3. Slowly, but surely, I have been losing faith in Bioware. I hope they can turn it around. But in the future I can only hope they properly play test and QA their titles, which seems to be an unfortunate norm lately in video games in general. This has been the final straw that I am done buying games at launch until I know they are in reasonable, playable conditions. I've been looking forward to a game that I can't play properly and it is very disappointing.
