2560x1080 and you wont be able to access the behavior options because the game will not reescale ...

Wait - seriously? That's....a bunch of words for bad.

If the maps meshes are the culprits, then expect no fix.  Though the Tac-Cam seems to have no problems with "click-to-move". So I am puzzled by this inconsistency.

From what I gather, jumping is the bugbear. The navmeshes can't handle it, and it's apparently important enough when exploring that simply ignoring it isn't an option. Or something.

There could be other problems, of course, jumping just being the notable one. Only Bioware knows. The reasons ultimately don't matter much on our side; we're probably not going to get it regardless.

That may be but the Tac-Cam allows you to point, click then move. Unless, in Tac-Cam  the map is shown without the bothersome navmesh?  Is the solution as simple as executing a special piece of code that "removes" or does not apply the navmesh when the character is ready to move from point A to B and then fall back to "normal" code?

Or perhaps the question is why does it work in Tac-Cam?

Hey there!

I am a fairly passive player and usually don't go poking around in forums and stuff. I'm fairly easily satisfied. However, DA:I has actually caused me to finally make my first post in my life because I feel so tremendously abused as a pc-player. I have never played the game for more than 15 minutes tops, only now and then to see whether the controls have been fixed. Nada. This is the first game I have been so excited to buy and I regret so much that I spent my money on it. After 6 months of hoping and waiting and not losing faith in bioware (yeah I know, laugh at me for actually saying something that silly) however, my patience is wearing thin.

I won't go into what needs to be fixed. all of it has been covered thoroughly.

My question is this:

Has Bioware EVER responded to this ****storm of complaints!? I can't find any useful statement whatsoever on the subject.

p.s: I will seriously contemplate whether to buy ANY  bioware game in the future after such a blunder. Why should I support them? I hope you read this, BIOWARE!!

Just the thread to ask this question

Let me put it to you this way if PC gamers in this game were second class passengers on the Titanic, they'd get left to flounder in the nice iceberg, while console players got seats in the lifeboats

There was a knee jerk reaction by Bioware in ME3 after the howls of anguish over the ending, but as that minor tweak made matters worse, I think Bioware has just decided to "move on" after their major foul ups are exposed.  Either that or just ignore them in the hope that eventually they will go away, which I guess they will taking a lot of their potential future custom elsewhere

Edited phrase storm of complaints replaced by "howls of anguish"

Seems to me what Conal wanted to say but couldn't was:

Being a publicly traded company means that ANY public dissent, such as any BioWare employee having anything critical to say of the development or EA, would immediately have an impact on shares and therefor would be the death knell of the career of any employee responsible.

But they have provided clarification such as Patrick Weekes in the initial thread when the lack of healing was announced. Thats what I for one want to see more of. If they cant then scrap the forums there's no point to having them.

As I recall, after DA2 there were a few calls to expand the world and get out of Kirkwall, do not use copied areas, restrict Ninja spawns, slow the pace of combat, replace the artwork for Elves and Darkspawn, add some more color to the brown areas, etc.

Seems Bioware may listen a little....

EA is counting on DLC sales with Inquisition. This is a fact and it's well documented. I haven't bought the DLC because this game is still in development in my humble opinion. Five months and no point-to-click and no one is smart enough to implement it. If this game had come with a toolkit, I can say with little doubt that modders would've had this fixed in a few days. By the way, a mod existed early on that allowed me to point-to-click out of tac-cam mode. It stopped or wouldn't allow me to progress if a 'jumping obstacle' got in the way, but it was decent.

Jumping. Why?

Theoretically it should work out of tac cam until you run into a place that requires jumping, at which point you'd have to switch to manual control to navigate. Depending on how often jumps are expected, this could be either a minor annoyance or a major game breaker.

I think most of the critique for DA2 came out of it's lack of focus feel and that unlike DAO the action almost exclusively based in the town of Kirkwall. I agree that the consensus was that there were not enough different places to visit, like there were in DAO such as  Redclifffe, the Brecillian forest, or even where the action kicks off in DAI if you like. However I contend that it is more than a leap of faith (or tolerance) to go from the examples in DAO (on which the DA2 improvement comments were based) to huge empty areas that triggered a self induced tedium while searching for trivia  on quests the Inquisitor should not personally be involved in. OK a good idea for a multiplayer scenario but not for a single player adventure!

So while Bioware maybe did listen a little, and acted upon it for DAI (and that to me is a big maybe) they applied an interpretation on the recommendations to suit themselves and delivered a package that no one asked for!

I contributed to the relevant  DA2 threads in that regard. I can recall many that griped about the lack of other places but not off hand any that recommended a huge desert at night with nothing in it for miles except a few tombs, the odd bunch of rocks, and a dragon trying to mind it's own business

While I did not ask for a solo MMO like SWTOR, I am one that appreciates it in DAI. And based on the numerous reviews and awards - even from those that are not affiliated with the industry - it seems doubtful that I am alone.

And the Hissing Wastes provided interactions with the Venatori, Red Templars, and their slaves in addition to the treasure hunts, shop, resources, and Dragon encounter; one of the better ones, IMO.

Having just revisited DA2 I was appalled by the complete lack of interaction between companions. Sure there is banter, but there is no contact. This fact alone puts repetitive areas, ninja enemies, etc as trivial. Try and talk to Isabela or Merrill outside of a plot determined event. Seems our illustrious Lead Designer was at work here as well.

It completely changed direction when the focus changed to consoles. I have no axe to grind regarding consoles, but it changed from party based role playing to single protagonist with followers. I remember the icon where you could determine the party layout in BG2. Very useful if you played as a mage or warrior. Mage at the rear, warrior as tank. I could stop in the Brecillian forest and talk to Leliana whenever I wanted. Could not do this in DA2 or DAI. Companions are just ornaments now.

Immersion = zero.

Step aside, Bioware. The Witcher 3 cometh!

And THIS is how you make a fantasy RPG:

Paid £39 for DAI

Will only pay £28 for TW3 which will include a bunch of FREE DLC!

So why would I ever buy another Bioware game?

Have to disagree here; am a huge fan of the banter system in the DA series. While one may not speak to a character at all times, this does prevent the occasional miss-click one experienced in DAO which resulted in the 'Nevermind' response to return to the story. And listening to Merrill, Varric, Aveline, and the others made DA2 much more enjoyable for replays.

And the Player could speak to the characters at some set location, and occasionally in the Player home, so it did include this RP element, though not on the fly.

Yes, it is! And CDProjekt RED is not even funded by EA....

AND they are releasing the game on next-gen consoles as well as PC.

Bioware's excuse for their rubbish UI? I hear nothing....absolute silence...tumbleweed and little dusty whirlwinds....

Not going to lie. Getting this twice, simply cause I wanted to support them on GOG , and because I wanted that statue. So getting XBone edition. But pc playthrough will be my first. Apparently there will be a way for your previous game choices to matter as well.

Regarding review articles as a source of valid information for a buy/nobuy decision. I came across this "editor's letter" from Spunkify, describing his experience with a gaming review site.

The short story is that the integrity of review sites are subjugated by the almighty dollar... the need for profits.

So, any article that I now read is scrutinized for use of promotional advertising language. Certainly, my experience playing with the DAI  game vs the game review articles I read that were  overflowing the CUP with "love" is like the difference between night and day.

Yep, that's the "get reckd Bioware" trailer. :D

Preordered the CE from Amazon for the standard price. That's the difference with BiowEAre, where my expectations were simply not high enough based on previous experience. So I got the Digital Deluxe cheap, for half the price. It felt absolutely right to not spend more, still does.

I guess publishers think that people forget past experiences. Well they don't and then this means less money. If that's still enough to keep this shell of the former Bioware alive then so be it I guess. But I wouldn't expect it to get better, just worse, for us and for them.

I'm unsure how much of the video is promo cinematics and actual in-game footage. However, comparing the W3 "content" with DAI "content", W3 wins hands down.

Go find the "First 15 minutes" video posted by IGN only a couple of days ago.

What you're seeing there and in this trailer is actual gameplay footage. and it has been very consistent since they started showing gameplay. So I wouldn't worry about its authenticity.

The nice thing is my wife owns and has played - many times - the first two Witchers.  Even if this game is half what they sell (and I'm not blind to marketing BS, they all do it), it will still be twenty times superior to the slog Bioware flogged and worth (and half!) the money.

And the wife will be happy regardless, so win-win.

Actually, I skip most article reviews with some possible exceptions. Generally, they offer little past what was already known here. But I could not help note that there are those that gave praise to DAI that were outside the industry.
