MESSAGE POPULAIRE !

Conal,

You do realize this is a very unorthodox situation, don't you?  The reactions we are seeing to this release are not typical of a major game release, at least not in regards to an entire platform being affected to such a degree.

I assume you and the rest of the design team has seen this? http://www.incgamers...s-pc-hype-video

If so, does it not warrant some additional interaction and announcements specifically directed towards the pc customer base?

I absolutely recognize the concerns of this community. I am also asking that people please respect the developers who work for this company and understand that there are right and wrong ways to interact with your fellow human beings. Absolutely you have a right to voice concerns to the company as a customer, and there are a number of channels through which you can do that.

However, any sort of concerted campaign or call to arms that could result in the harassment of anyone (whether it's a dev or member of the public) is not appropriate. These aren't monsters or unfeeling automatons you are dealing with -- they are people, same as you. Going after someone's personal Twitter (or other) account is not the best or most appropriate way to voice these concerns.

There are specific criticisms of the DA:I m+kb controls and they are all valid. Here are a few: no ability to walk, no way to select multiple party members, no click to move or click to loot or click to attack, incredibly inefficient UI, awkward camera controls. Those are things that are objectively worse than they were in Origins (and DA2, for many of them). What do all these gripes have in common? They all happen when you design a game for consoles and controllers and then port it over to PC with a bare minimum of effort. It's SO BAD that a lot of people are just using controllers ... to play a PC game ... in a genre of game that was designed for people playing on a PC with a mouse and keyboard.

Is my cheek red? Because I feel like I just received a serious slap in the face.

All ur talking about are some things which dont be in the Game, i talk about kb&m ""Controls"" keybindings also.

All that stuff u mentioned are ""Suggestions"" and not ""Do that, Slave""

Its theyr Game not yours, they did what most wanted (tactical-cam and i dont have any problem to use it) <--Wow some Trees in my sight, Maker damn than just Rotate!

there is a click to loot, there is a click to attack, there is a click to move... which game do u play? o.O

Yes u cant select multiple Characters, and now? than just use one after one whats so hard about it? no time? well than just dont play this game if u dont have time for 2 seconds organize ur Group.

UI is fine i dont know whats bad about it..also Camera controls theyr pretty much like dao..

To be clear, yes i love DA and Bioware because they know what they do and theyr pretty much the best Developers in terms of Story and also RPG which includes story.

But im also pissed because i get DirectX Crashes..but thats no way to talk bad about anything.

Different companies, different priorities. One of them even offers 16 DLCs for free regardless of the platform choice but I will not tell which one that is.

Well, deceiving audience is fine, right? I'm not talking about all of the BW team of course. But all this situation feels like "lets tell them what they want to hear, release the game in whatever state it is, and deal with the rest later... maybe. We have nice XBOX and PS version anyway"
Even now i kinda respect BioWare. How? I did not ask for refund.

Understood and good to know.

We will be waiting patiently for the first patch and hope you are able to complete it without any issue or inappropriate actions.  Please do not hesitate to inform us of any progress or details of the patch, if you feel it would help the pc customer base feel more at ease at this time.

Thanks.

We are doing our best to address these issues and concerns. Please understand that fixing and implementing these things takes time, as all things do. Until the patches are finalized, I'm afraid it would be a disservice to both the community and our developers if I were to provide incomplete information. Our team is hard at work as we speak, and we will provide an update once we have finalized information.

Maybe you should have worked on these things before the game was released.

There are specific criticisms of the DA:I m+kb controls and they are all valid.

Some are valid some not, i have played 35 hours with m+kb and it is fine(prefer it over a controller). Some things are also probably design decisions which significance is overlooked by most. As i said there are surely improvements that can and should be made, but in this and other things the issues are quite exaggerated and poorly presented because of foolish anger, at least often.

Adapting to new controls in new games is valid, i guess though since there have been previous games most people expect the controls to be pretty much the same and will not accept different, especially when there are some issues to boost the dislike. ;d

There are a bunch of things that are not ideal, things beyond just the controls, more significant things probably. Hopefully they will be improved/ patched in time. My game play experience have been frustrating at times and tactical camera and commands are not explained anywhere(how commands work and in detail) as far as i know which is not great, good thing i  found this. Would have figured it out eventually, but still.

Still the my biggest concern now is probably the companions teleporting to the controlled character mid combat if you move away a certain distance from them. Probably deserves a thread unless it has been addressed already ? I am curious to hear about this from a dev ? Any chance to be fixed ?

I have had a great time overall though.

No..non think, ok there is a blue to finally responded but only to make sure that people do not get up in a revolt against them, and as I said earlier on another post ... I hope it does not happen. for when it is released i can only tell you what they said, that they are working to resolve and correct the problems that plague the game.

Oh, you mean like we shouldn't intentionally mis-lead or straight out lie about things?  That would be the wrong way to interact with your fellow human beings right?

Obviously I'm using a royal "we" and "you" here, I don't think you personally are lying, nor do I blame the development side of Bioware, the game is coming along nicely and once it's complete it will be fantastic.  The Marketing and PR section on the other hand, maybe you could do us a favor and sit them down and lecture them on how you should treat fellow human beings for us.  They need it as much as any of the flame baiting forum goers.

well dev team working for patch that good news.

Solving issues for pc gamers is good to hear but anyway i  dont expect a patch to solve games core problem.

problem with open world, i think its combat generated randomly. There is no lvl design so monsters just spawn normally.in case of designed dungeons and scripted ai's.even if they succeded to patch tactical cam or pc controls i dont think it will improve games strategical side.

well everyhing has ups and downs.a huge map and content and lots of things to explore, create( even i believe over 20 different mounts) you have to give up on strategy.

i play on hard difficulty and i just spam abilties which cool down finished.

i believe dev team put so much effort to create this game . there is so many details that show you that they care and do their best to do that.

game structure, plainly speaking open world system is core problem here. They just cant design every combat encounter besides boss fights.

DA:i rises the question future of rpg games will rely on open world systems?

Yes skyrim made a success and developers chose that for obious reasons.''people love it and want it''. i tell you skyrim is a good sightseeing tour more than a game.

well i am waiting to see how cdproject and witcher 3 will owercome openworld systems obstacles.

But as we speak about respect. Is there a possibility that someone could make a statement about the misscommunication/missunderstandings that might have helped to strengthen the current concerns?

Nah, knowing that stuff is being worked on, the acknowledgement and getting the Kb + m stuff fixed , the tac cam fixed is good enough for me. Aside from those things I could enjoy DA:I.

It wouldn't be exactly what I would have preferred in a computer RPG, but I could enjoy it a lot more.

So finally managed to rack up some decent game time the last few days, and have only got back online now to have a look at what other peoples impressions and opinions are.

..and yeah - the PC version feels more like a half baked port. Great game, seriously great game, but the controls are definitely curious and surprised they released in the state they did.

The loot searching, loot collection, targeting and attack, tactical cam and general camera work, are the biggest issues for me. I'm pretty competent with the game play but it feels incredibly restrictive and more difficult than it needs to be, and I'm surprised by the number of people saying PC controls are fine on nightmare, since I can barely find my mouse cursor in combat half the time.

Still though, at least from my end, the rest of the game is pretty fantastic so far and while controls are an exercise in frustration, they're the only complaint I have.

Yes, dont get me starting on the feaking camera and enviroment interactions. I mean what happened to the old classic right click a chest or lootable object and your character runs to it to loot it??

Its been almost a week, and from replies from devs, patch isn't even close to being ready.

What was the point of buying this game at launch. Now my thanksgiving uni break will go buy also without playing the game.

Not to mention that patches of any kind are difficult to ETA. If they'd said last week that it would be ready by today and there wasn't a link at 12:01am, there would be even more call for heads to roll. The only thing that's really getting me bent out of shape in this thread is the ferocity with which the devs have been attacked. I mean, they said they'd address the concerns so that's what they'll do and are doing, per additional dev posts. In other words, it'll get done when it's done.

I fully agree we all on this forum we are human beings with a heart and a soul, not lifeless machines that think so razzionale and without emotions, and like any human being pul too make mistakes ... mistakes that can cause many problems, but for everything that can go wrong it tries to remedy such as Bioware and EA are doing ... I'm not an engineer nor a programmer, but I understand that what you are doing at this time and an extreme act and difficult to repair the damage, I'm thinking in the end they did not expect, I had noticed for some time before the wax out that something was wrong in the controls and in the game ... it seemed too good to be true ... and yet it happened. I think DA: I will be saved in these days, I love Dragon Age, I love the world of Tedas and all its political cultures creatures and characters, and big fan of the series I hope that soon we ll play happy in this world who have created for us. :crying:
