Maybe you should have worked on these things before the game was released.
When something like this happens, it has a story.
A story untold.
Think about it for awhile. What's the weirdest thing about this? - The fact that we do not have any damage control. Not a wisp. Nothing.
Why not? I'm just guessing of course, but I'm betting the same reason as why this happened at all, in the first place. EA company culture.
There is something seriously wrong with EA. Have been for decades.
Look at this case again, for instance. What can possibly be the immediate reason there is no damage control?
I'd suggest that there is no one who feels empowered to do that. No one who dares. No one who dares promise anything, because no one knows what he can promise. And on top of that probably standing PR rules not to say anything, or not to engage a hostile community.
...And on the other end, company leadership, no one who feels he should be bothered. The studio did get their budget of zots - money, time and people - ,didn't they? It's their deal. Their responsibility but not in their power.
Personally, I find it all sickening. The studio did their best, tried to make the best in many difficult choices, and made the best game they could. So all things did not click - they rarely do - and in the end they ran out of allocated zots, and time. But they did make the basis for a great game. I have not yet played it, so why do I say that? Because some people I trust very much and know I can trust on this, say so.
It may not be exactly the game we wanted. I'm not totally surprised. It's been clear for a long time that they weren't making a sequel to DA:O. But I intend to get it and play it. What now? Most of the bugs will be fixed eventually, certainly the most serious. I don't know why some decide to doubt that. Also, it would be great if the M&KB interface is improved. I'm pretty convinced they will try hard. As hard as EA will let them, in the end. Get a refund now and have the option to re-purchase later, if you're too unhappy.
As for the claimed 'lies', go back to that video and study it carefully. They're all set and posed in the same environment. Probably dragged there by EA's advertisers (I refuse to call them marketing) to hype the PC version. I wouldn't say they lie. But EA advertisers definitely need to loose their illusion that they're targeting mindless, easily manipulated 14-year olds. I see Mike, Elisabeth and Aaryn mainly as victims in this. Listen to Mike, does he lie? No. He's saying that they originally created DA on the PC (true), then he says "and we kinda kept that legacy", and to me he clearly seems uncomfortable when he says that. His later quotes are then taken out of their context, and he is actually addressing gamers and the game in general, not the PC community as the video seem to suggest. Elizabeth is innocent by virtue of cluelessness. She believes the things she says are true. She, herself, was probably raised on the console, so lacks perspective. Aaryn, finally, doesn't really say anything. His comments, just like most of what Mike says, are just edited into an advertising video that tries to put a positive spin DA:I PC version.
Finally, they really did a PC version that, except for the UI, is more fullblown than most. I'm of course speaking of the environment details, graphics, for extreme hardware.
