LCD Soundsystem made a beautiful, personal homage to my old home of NY. It sums it up for me.

Hum to LCD Soundsystem, "New York I Love You But You're Bringing Me Down"

Bioware...

I loved you...

but you're bringing me down.

Bioware...

I loved you...

but you're bringing me down.

I'm trying to be sage...

but you make me rage...

Bioware...
I loved you...
but you're bringing me down.

Bioware...

You've left us for consoles...

And you're wasting my time...

All spreadsheets show...

you were wealthy and fine...

Then two doctors opened their doors...

and let EA into their world...

The corruption set in and then it all died.

Bioware...

You're perfect...

please don't change a thing...

Your mild millionaire CEO thinks he a king...

And the boring collects...

I mean all disrespect...

And all the great stories I had hoped for...

are either dead or never to be seen.

Bioware or DICE...

Who really are you...

Because you're freaking me out...

We've got plenty of twist...

but we're fresh out shout.

Like a death in a hall...

that you hear through your wall...

Bioware...

I loved you...

and now you're just bringing me down...

Bioware or DICE...

whoever is there...

you're freaking me out.

Like a knife plunged into my heart..

Maker, where do I start?

There was a time when I would've happily jump into your pool...

and drown.

On May 19th, take me off your mailing list...

For kids who still think Bioware still exists...

yes, for those like Elhanan, that think it still exists...

Maybe, you're right... and maybe I'm wrong...

Maybe your're right and maybe I'm wrong,

Just maybe you're wrong and maybe I'm right!

Maybe Elhanan told you true...

That Bioware will never be wrong and maybe he's right.

That Bioware is still avant-garde and they can go on...

Bioware...

I miss you...

And I moving on...

May 19th.

No,They've gave patches for some of those things. Tac-cam is still a wreak and auto attack you can bind to a key but it is not the same has DAO auto. It's aacutally pretty weird.

Man, if you saw what the current beta testing and next "patch" is focusing on... I cant say anything because of NDA. I can only guarantee Elhanan will not be disapppointed in the results because his game is already flawless unlike the ones the others have in this thread, but im not so sure about the people having *not specified because of NDA* issues.

Am curious if any of the ladies or gentlemen here are concerned at the continued misuse of gender being meant as insults or as taunts.

Now myself, am rather used to it since the days when a Drill Instructor would commonly refer to all of us in that manner, or on the old school playgrounds in my youth. And I do not see being referred to a female as insulting, as I have wonderful role models throughout life, and am rather secure in my own masculinity, especially after all these years. But the recent appearance of such verbal usage on the forums "concerns me for the entirety of the PC Community" *sarcasm*; hence my curiosity.

It catches my attention now as it is being duplicated by others, and since it has not been seen in many years, perhaps wonder if others possibly see it as degrading, childish, misogynistic, etc. Or not; could solve itself by May 19th....

I'm not sure what you're referring to specifically, but in general, that usage is a pretty good indicator of an adolescent mindset with little of value to contribute. So scroll past 'em and wait for the tar pits of history to do their job?

Obviously everyone is supposed to use their inherent psychic abilities to determine the gender identity of each person behind the post.  Duh.

So, does anyone know if the ability rings are still broken?  It never gets mentioned anymore, and I don't recall seeing it addressed in patch notes.

Personally I'm not one for divulging my gender or sexual orientation but if you offer to give me a kiss, I just might consider revealing something personal about myself

I think Elhanan is making reference to my post (even though I'm apparently officially on 'ignore') wherein I refer to him (now that I know) as a 'her', utilizing an old habit of mine, wherein if I don't know the gender of any particular poster, I default to 'her'.  Some tend to assume that the poster is a male.  I like to pretend the world is full of just women.

I like women.

Sue me.

It's not remotely personal, but hey, persecution complexes are free.

As long as the PC version still lacks basic mouse and keyboard functions that I have requested ad nauseam, it's simply not worth investing any more time, effort and money. As it is, my personal optimism for anything coming from Bioware is now completely lost. I'm also questioning if Bioware is actually invested at all in this thread. I know it's moderated, but really... who is actually reading these posts? I get the feeling that this is all smoke and mirrors. This is a Bioware forum, but the employees that need to see this are from DICE. They are after all the architects of Frostbite 3 and should know how to implement something into their own engine. I think we've been duped...

Why are we relying on Twitter? Is that outside of NDA rules? I am curious.

Friends, Romans, fellow forumites who hold views similar to mine ...

Can we lay off the Elhanan bashing?

Please?

Let us not become like those we profess to "dislike".

Let us not become trolls in our own right.

A troll is a troll, no matter which side of the argument they take.

Troll or not, being discourteous puts us all in bad light

Having said that, I personally do not consider Elhanan (edit: nor any of you) one.

Our self appointed Pi Man is here to express himself under the auspices of EA/"Bioware" as are we.

He is here on a well intentioned, though irrational mission to convert us all back into fan boys n girls.

He and I agree on some things, and greatly disagree on others yet ...

How boring it would be without him.

Peaceful, yes ... but boring.

Many times his opinings have made me ask myself WHY I liked or disliked certain aspects of DA:I in and of themselves or compared to other games.

To declare that we don't like "it" because "it" is different simply isn't good enough.

Some critical thinking and examination is in order.

We should be able to state why we don't like "such n such" and most of us can and do.

Why is that?

Maybe, just maybe ... because of Elhanan?

( ... and Errationatus, Sylveris, Cobby, etc., etc.)

.....

Just a little plea for at least a momentary cease-fire and resumption of courteous discussion friends.

Actually use the collision feature to help plot paths, plan for cover, check LOS, etc. No clunky problems either, and I have issues with more intricate mechanics; am not alone either, as the DAGARS Award appears to indicate.

I read the entry. It indicates the top reasons were:

- Didn't rely on colour for any task. (Colour blind)

- Game is extremely forgiving for players that can't play as well similar to narrative difficulty settings in other games (fine motor skills/reflex issues)

- Fine details were not necessary to complete tasks (visually impaired)

- Subtitles (Hearing impaired)

And my personal favourite:

In addition, this title also included extensive  controller customization which ensured that fine-motor impaired gamers would have full access to the world of Thedas.

Where is this customization for the PC users of the game? A few pre-determined keys to be re-mapped but this game is actually more limited in this capacity than not only every other PC game released in the last 5 years, but every single BioWare title released since 2002.

Considering the complains from many of the people here specifically regarding disability accessibility, this award looks to be worth about as much as the pre-release GOTY awards. Costly to obtain and not representative of the whole experience.

It was nice to see Deus Ex: Human Revolution in a top 5 list... and interesting to note that SWTOR is in the same list, considering swtor's accessibility in controls has been mentioned and that it puts DAI to shame....

<SNIPPY FOR BREVITY>

Just a little plea for at least a momentary cease-fire and resumption of courteous discussion friends.

As far as I've reviewed, I was not personally attacking Elhanan, nor have I been.  His personal sensitivity and bruis'd feelings may vary, naturally.

Ribbing, sure, on occasion.  Mocking?  Absolutely.

His macho drill sarge-influenced (thanks for your service) self can use some.  Since the majority of us are on 'ignore' for various and no doubt-multiple egregious offences, he doesn't even see most of it.  Yet - the refrain remains the same - we have the problem, not EA, not Bioware, not him, not the game, not the uncountable multitudes that absolutely agree with him with roars of approval for his never-ending crusade to re-educate the toxic we of this thread. Just us, we ungrateful bunch.

Last time I looked, pointing out his rather consistent (props for that) expert level of 'tsk-tsk' asshattery is simply a service.  That passive-aggressive needling looks reasonable.  It isn't.  It's designed precisely to be irritating and leave him looking innocent. Props for that - that takes skill.

Personally, I couldn't care less if he spent and spends all day every day lathering up and rubbing himself all over everything Bioware in a paroxysm of his obvious-fiery lust for their peerless products. Most of the time, he's just a minor blip on my radar, if that. I used him as an example because he was precisely that - a fine one of the complacency responsible for the dreck they shovel at us. If he takes offence, well...  apparently, it doesn't take much.

If he's a troll, he's an sorcerer-level troll and my hat's off to him again.  Well done, nicely played.  Please come up with something new, because you've passed Tedious a hundred klicks back, just outside of ToxiCity limits.

That said, he has a perfect right to say what he likes, as he said, within the TOS. He does cogently enough and I would not take it from him.  I'd fight on his behalf if someone tried to silence him for no good reason.

However, after the five millionth condescending paean to Bioware's majesty, we have a right to call him on it.  And I will.  When I feel like it.

Other than that, he's just not that important - and this is all he'd getting from me.

Please - back to your regularly-scheduled b!tching about this trudge of a slog of a drag of a game.

Edit: minor detail.

I noticed, but my first reaction was "Oh... did I miss the fact Elhanan is female? Did I accidentally insult her and contribute to her claims of insults and such because I referred to 'her' as 'he'?"

I took it at face value until I read this post because:

a) I'm not a child. Gender swapping someone intentionally as an insult isn't mature.
b  ) Regardless of your gender, I disagree with most of your points because I don't see things your way, and agree with some because I do see some things your way. Your genitals are not a point for or against you.

I find it very suspicious that Elhanan has only occasionally posted in this forum. He has been here from time to time. But not in the volume that has appeared in the past few days. Orders from on high? 13,500 posts? How can he even play the game?

Maybe Darrah or others want to close this thread? It can't just be random, What is his agenda? I think any credibility has vanished.

I just wish he didn't clog this topic. But no worries, I just skip his posts anyway.

They should all work, mostly. That's always been the case (there may be outliers, but they already fixed a couple that were clearly broken).

BioWare is responsible for their own UI and controls.

And they've clearly reached the point where they're finished tweaking the keyboard and mouse controls for Inquisition (my guess is that the next patch will only add the un/sheathe keybind that Mike accidentally leaked a while back, unless it was something they decided not to do). So if they're not sufficient for you, it may just be best to move on now. Making the same complaints endlessly here isn't going to accomplish anything.

Thanks for the call, whether or not any will answer it.

@ General: Am not a paid employee of Bioware; simply a long time Fan from the original NWN1 boards. Have this many posts as I have been here since around opening, and am now unemployed and have plenty of time for gaming, social interaction, and posting here. As my name continues to be mentioned frequently, I do try and see as to the context; always nice to have such a loyal following.

OT: Wonder if Guard generating abilities could lose the Threat component; prefer the former, but not a fan of the latter.

Unbowed and Charging Bull don't build threat. (Nor does Block and Slash, but that's far more situational.)

Guard goes hand-in-hand with tanking in the current gameplay design; building threat at the same time is what keeps it balanced. If you just want free guard, you can use fade-touched materials that give you guard on-hit when crafting your armor (at which point, you'll be largely invincible).

Had some Guard generating material in the last run, and that was quite helpful, but was wanting to do something else with a 2H design. However, getting to Tier 3 lvls seems more problematic. Will look to get those suggested abilities soon. Thanks!
