1. I was going to tear into some of the ridiculous assumptions and nonsense in this thread, but I lost my motivation.  Some people just need to realize design changes won't always make you happy, but that doesn't mean they're bugs.  And, some of these technical issues are unfortunately just the downside of the so-called "master race".

2. PC gaming is great...when it works.  The biggest negative is that there are so many variables it is often difficult to guarantee stability. Which isn't to say there aren't a lot of issues that need to be address.  Just, PC gaming is a pain sometimes.

3. My Experience

*snip*

1. Strawman. And a big one at that.

2. I might be not that bright but I always supposed that when you make a PC game, it should also work on PC. Generally PC games are thought for PC and work on PC, isn't it amazing? If not, then you failed at making a PC game for PC.

3. Glad to hear you have a great personal experience on PC with a PC game.

Yep. Bioware said that they were returning to their roots and promised that Dragon Age: Inquisition would have deep RPG mechanics and deep tactical combat. In truth Bioware just completely mutilated the Dragon Age franchise by turning it into a shallow single player MMO with button mashing combat.

Do you have a link to a Bioware quote about this?

thanks

It's their usual MO. Black-out and if the crowd becomes too agitated, throw a bone and say that you understand and are working hard on the issue. It costs nothing and people have a post to answer to and the opportunity to vent a little. They're buying time, don't expect anything until they get the patch out. I expect it this weekend.

I would not think this weekend. If they release to all platforms at the same to e then it would have to be certified by both Microsoft and Sony.

Hi there dear Devs,

even I am enjoying the game, turning around every stone, listening to every spoken sequence and try to read as much as possible, doing every sidequest and so on.

THE CONTROLS AND THE INTERFACE ARE TERRIBLE ,
playing with keyboard and mouse. Normal I don't hate consoles, but NOW I DO, because they are the reason why I am suffering !

WHAT I HATE (but I love even more)

1.) As I said the controls and the interface for mouse and keyboard.

2.) THE PROPORTIONS of all Weapons, do you have an Asian Manga Fan group, who has programmed that. IT BREAKS IMMERSON and is childish.
Please make an option that we could REDUCE THE SIZE OF THAT items to "real life" proportions. Do they have a sex problem or why has that happen ?

3.) INVENTORY, what joke again, at least give us a CHEST in the castles, where we could store crafting ingredients and so on. How it is now makes no sense !
The project manager for that decision is out of control ... after 100h playing, I remember most of the time, that I struggled, where to fit items and which to drop and NOT how to overcome the enemy and to solve quests ... that is a terrible game decision ,,, and yes I already have all inventory expansions bought !

Hope you will try to improve your game, even I fear it will be too late for me, as we know Bioware is very lazy with patches and game improvements after release !

Anyway best luck and all in all an outstanding product

congratulations from me, even I hate it :-)

Simple, straight to the point.

Here's hoping the right people see this.

Here is a great video about constantly needing to spam V when running to find things.

Good suggestion too for how this can be fixed, make it a toggle .

It's just as possible that certification is what's happening right now.

I'd be surprised if it was. This quickly? People would have had to burn the midnight oil or already be working on some of this stuff.

I would say a week or so from now might be more realistic.

I wold actually rather not have some 'aura' around me while I explore.

The highlight button worked perfectly.  It's a much better system because you hold the button down when you want to search for things.

It's already been a week.  Most games have fixes out with the first few hours.

I'd say it's surely possible they spent all last week loading the patch and certification (for consoles) was started this week.

Please don't encourage harassment. Regardless of how you feel about the current state of affairs, this is inappropriate behaviour. There is nothing wrong with someone playing on a different platform to your platform of choice. Please respect your fellow gamers and developers.

OMG. BW is listening but not talking. After nearly 70 pages of pleas for communication from BW.

If it was already done and sent off to be certified then BW would have already been able to say what they can deliver since it would be complete.

I think there might be a special problem with the PC interface.

I don't know, and I haven't played the game myself yet, but watching videos, I get the idea that the reason the PC UI is the way it is, may have something to do with MP? Requirements for how MP must be implemented (console/PC-balance)? MP seem to, in the end, have influenced the fundamental design of this game a lot.

...And maybe late in it's development as well.

I guess there isn't much for them to say other than 'they are working on it'. Which I hope they are. I look forward to the patch...I really want to play Dragon age Inquisition and its just sitting there on my Desktop TAUNTING me

Anyone having FPS issues still?

The Redcliff farms area seems to be biggest trouble spot for me, so far. I'm seeing drops of 15-20fps in that area, other than that it holds up good at around 60fps for the most part. It doesn't seem to make any difference whether or not I'm on ultra or high, except that while on ultra my gpu temps are pushing 80c so I bumped it back down to high settings.

I didn't have a lot of CTD's at first but now frequently getting CTD in conversations with a DirectX error:

What is it exactly that makes you suspect this?  I have stayed away from looking at gameplay footage.

And I will reiterate what I said earlier, if it turns out the pc scheme is the way it is because of multiplayer, then everyone in that department deserves to be fired.

For some reason, I only get that when I start a new character and can't get through the opening dialogue with Cassandra and Leliana. It's pretty much fine on characters before the one I'm playing now, but there's a huge thread in the Tech Support forums for that error.

I got that message a few times and a BSOD while playing on ultra. After I went down to high it seems better with the occasional CTD but nothing too bad. I built my rig a couple of years ago and this is the first game to blue screen me, so its definitely works hardware hard.

I love how there are so many people complaining about game mechanics when there are those of us who haven't even gotten to experience most of them. After a week I haven't even been able to finish the intro. I had to recreate my character four times because the game kept crashing before it got to the first autosave. I still have to open the game four or five times just to get past the main menu without it freezing. Oh, and by the way, installing the 14.11.2 Beta driver for AMD Radeon does not fix anything. I still get the DirectX errors.

I paid $80 for this game. I'd really just like to get to play it.

So I keep getting the gender bug while trying to make a male qunari mage on dragon age inquisition. After waiting for patches I got bored and tried to keep creating characters trying to use the workaround of switching the gender back and forth a few times before creating the character. Unfortunately I was trying to hit esc a few times to try and skip the intro I have already seen several times trying to make characters, and I bugged out and ended up in this...

Excuse the video quality I just loaded fraps then converted to upload it.

Shadows fall and hope has fled,
Steel your heart the patch will come,
The night is long and the path is dark,
Look to the sky for one day soon,
The patch will come.

It's not a new character- though I've been reloading early saves. Settings are on High.

I agree with the chorus who's upset with the looting mechanics and having to hold R to auto-attack. It's extremely frustrating to have to sidle up to something and find the tiny spot where I can activate it.

The other big frustration is with the tactical camera. It's basically useless to me because it's so awkward to manipulate it and it usually doesn't go up far enough for me to even see the enemy.
