Steam pulled the plug. Now that's having balls to admit, "Okay... I screwed up and it's not working." The backlash was significant. That's a win for the gaming community. I have a little more respect for Steam right now.

Lets hope next time around Valve and Bethesda will think of the modders insted of themselves, but I daubt it.

"We've done this because it's clear we didn't understand exactly what we were doing" - Steam Workshop

If only others could be so open to feedback....*sigh

I wish I didn't have to work full time. I'd take all the best posts out of here and make a book from it. I wouldn't take a penny of profit, I'd give it all to the posters here. Two months later I stop by out of pure curiosity and it's still going and it's still funny.

So we learned that Elhanan has played 3500 hours of Skyrim and has had a stroke. God damned right you're going to have a stroke if you're playing just one game for 3500+ hours. You need to get outside and move around some! Try it sometime! One wonders how you have the time to even post once here if you're putting thousands of hours into games. 3500 hours = 145 straight days! Sweet Baby Jesus!

A golf clap to all the funny posters here. You've made my day a few times. Thank you.

Add to that 13,500 posts, at 1 minute per post, which is 225 hours, which is an impressive 9.375 days of solid trolling posting

I bow to you sir, your dedication to Bioware has no limits.

Now why the eff can't Bioware fans do that?  Why do they accept whatever drecky flatulence EA throws at them and brainlessly forever sing its miniscule praises? When Ubisoft shows you up, you've hit that nadir like the hammer of Thor.  Only the illiterately desperate and phoney bed-rid have the parroty nerve to sing the praises of this pusillanimous dog of execrable RPG irrelevancy.

One proviso:  getting caught grubbing only means they'll be more slick and shady the next time.  Remember, artists starve.  Companies don't make art, they make money and if they can do it painting crap gold and telling you it's a Twinkie, (or just vomiting up DA:I, same thing) they will.

Not quite that much time; 2890+ hrs in Skyrim which includes 700+ hrs in Vanilla only (and 70+ hrs in 3rd person). All of this was played after the stroke as part of my gaming rehab (ie; DA2, Skyrim, SWTOR, and the ME series) to improve my reflexes and Eye-Hand coordination. But I thank thee for the thought!

No, I thank you. You made me laugh until I cried. Not common. My guess is the 13,579 and counting posts is part of your rehab too.

I don't care what the others say. You are a treasure. Really.

I pray tell though should remove thine mind control cap. I fear it might have been bewitched by an evil empire.

It is truly shine, but alas it could cause thine powers to dwindle, and thine brain to shrink, as Evil Anarchy cause thine bio-ware to be diminished.

Indeed.

For me... the only version of King Arthur that I truly love. Many have tried, but this one... is absolutely my favorite. It is ranked among my top 10 movies of all time.

Proof?  Or is this just conspiracy theory?

Check it out for yourself! The briefest background check on all the "professional" reviewers that gave the game 10 or only slightly less will reveal all! I'll leave it to you to determine how well known they are,  and what it is apart from maybe rice and oil production, they are regularly reviewing. Without copies or transcripts of exchanges evidence will be hard to come by, but circumstantial as it may be there is enough around to draw some fairly obvious conclusions. That and familiarity with common practice should be enough to form a reasoned opinion at least

As regards reviewers generally, not everyone uses them and rightly so but they are not to be overlooked if you are trying to maximise your sales. A November launch timescale is also rather good for holiday gift shoppers. The number of Parents Uncles, Aunts, and Grandparents I saw rushing around Game retailers was amazing leading up to Xmas.

That movie definitely had ...ambition.  Personally, I've not seen any version of the Arthurian mythos I like, except of course for this one:

IGN's game of the year was probably on target for consoles. IGN also expected the PC version to not suffer so many issues. Being on the market for just a few weeks also raises the question if it was just rushed to boost sales for the Christmas sale. I feel jaded since I had preordered the game and couldn't get through my first playthrough until mid January when the first two patches arrived. You know... that's when I have time off from work and wanting to play my beloved Dragon Age. Even with the crappy controls, I still played until the CTDs were just unbearable and too often. Crappy console port and GOTY indeed. IGN totally lost all credibility with me. Divinity: Original Sin was my game of the year and it felt like a fresh take on the topdown view of RPGs.

To avoid triggering (trauma is so lucrative these days) anyone and not derail the thread, Jeebus-Hyper-Kerist-nailed-to-two-hockey-sticks-alone-knows how many must get punished for it, this thing goes off the rails so often...

Vigilance, though - the watchdogs here are keen.  Vigilance and $69.99 gets you an exclusive issue of the Bioware Faustian Times and Colonic Reader.  ...this a thing devoutly to be wished or so it's rumoured.

So...

How can Bioware make it right, kids, mein bros und fraus?  What can they do to make up for the kerfuffling of base and rank knavery this lie of a game has wrought?  How can they win back the bitter and disenfranchised heartbroken PC Dogs that only wanted to love them?  Abased and abashed, catholic in our hopes, what can follow?

Bioware, Bioware lama sabachthani?

Also, any word on that patch and Emporium/Witcher-Killer-offering yet?  Bated breath, etc, etc...

My friend, only madness is insane, and once in, madness is the only sanity. He who lives in darkness always knows the light only as an intruder. Blinded by the light, every shadow is suspect.

Which of the 45 reviews are from Russia or China?

Are you insinuating that the Gameover.gr is a Russian review based on the untranslated review?  Sorry, that is Greek.

Many of the 90 to 100 ratings are not in English language , but none are Russian or Chinese.

Do you have any specific (or even tangental) info that any of the reviews might be from Russia or Germany, or are you just blowing smoke?

...Divinity: Original Sin was my game of the year and it felt like a fresh take on the topdown view of RPGs.

Yeah. With Inquisition's tactical camera it feels like (though its surely not the case) Bioware wanted to make a joke of CRPG-s and of me for liking them and say: Oh, you mo*****er, here you go, your topdown rpg, if you look at screenshots it looks just like those silly rpg-s made by smaller companies but you will buy this one because this is AAA and without a doubt a better quality product and you buy it anyway because its name is DA.

Bioware workers are clearly drones. I dont doubt the artists there but the programmers are just doing the job, no passion for gaming, at least for PC gaming, thats for sure. I am curious if those kickstarter and alike projects will have any effect on the decision making of big companies like EA in the long run. Those products actually sell because the game is good not because the franchise is already set for the money grabbing. Well the most obvious thing would be to just buy them and make them degrade their franchise but with stunning visuals (No, im not speaking of DA, not at all) :( .

You guys still give a damn about game journalism?...

Its a shame it had no 3,2k ratings at the time i bought Inquisition. A few reviews never count, you know, haters gonna hate.
5,8/10, seems about right, at least for the PC version. There was no score i didnt agree with metacritic user score yet. There was storm brewing when i checked it first, but damn, it was dragon age, i thought even if the game is ****, which is impossible, it is freaking DA, at least ill get the good story. Ignore console gamer opinions and journalism. Then you know if the **** hit the fan or not. Even console gamers had enough of the fetch quests, but thats jsut the tip of a very big iceberg, they just dont know what is missing, because they did not play Origins on PC, and did not know what to expect from the series for PC. And they didnt have to. So they love it. And they have a controller. They expect controller. How can you control a whole party comfortably with a stupid controller? You cant, they are happy with button mashing. They dont get why you expect more with mouse and keyboard. All those glorious DA reviews from big sites are praising button mashing on consoles. Thats it.

I've just finished my first playthrough on PoE and have been recently trying to move my level 52 Skyrim character up a few notches. Thought I'd give DAI another shot yesterday! I can't believe I put up with all those awful  gameplay issues for 2 solid playthroughs and a bunch of other character/class tryouts!!  I quit in disgust after waiting interminably on loads. Almost forgot to mention,  I bought the deluxe version but only post launch and after a discount had been slapped on it. Even then I still feel hard done by

Same here about IGN and while I played and enjoyed the original Divinity, I haven't got round to the latest version. Thanks for the reminder. Also on my shopping list is the much talked about Shadows of Mordor. The only real argument I've seen about that is from Tolkien lore fiends under the general heading of "Blasphemy"

I agree somewhere between 5 and 8 seems to be a fair appraisal of this game from a pc user depending on your point of view. Interestingly enough a general web search reveals higher ratings under console users reviews so your points are spot on. It would be interesting to get a sales analysis of DAI returns worldwide to see how they break down. As an afterthought I've just noticed that a lot of European countries' gamers have big issues with anything other than the English language version, console or no. The local language dubbing is apparently rubbish yet nothing appears about that anywhere! Sorry strayed off topic
