I play on PC and I agree with Liz. I am pleased with the tactical combat and pause-and-play and how it was implemented in DAI.
I can scout the battlefield, move my characters were I want, and micromanage to my heart's content.
The implementation in DAI is somewhat different than DAI, but this old dog (born in '62) can learn new tricks.
Glad to know you like micromanaging battles. On the other hand, DA:O's tac-cam version has more appeal, especially when yoy have useful KB+M controls at one's fingertips and an obscure free view of the battle area.
A "fact" is an opinion of someone that is unwilling to listen to an alternative point of view.

When the "alternative point of view" gives me finger cramps, when playing the game, it becomes a fact.

Uh, no- that's called an "opinion".
A "fact" is something that can be substantiated with proof.
Try again, Mr. Goebbels.
I think i really said everything that can be said. It was nice trolling here. Take care and if we are lucky Witcher 3 will be an actual rpg and a pc game, not some sloppy port shoved in our faces for profit.
quick recap of the previous episodes:
Boring fetch quests and mmo collection systems as side content, 10-13 MOSTLY LINEAR MISSIONS are the main attraction, skyhold facebook game, bad controls, lack of customizable tactics, bad AI, that sonar search, lack of aoe looting, dafuq is that tac-cam, story is a sequal/dlc bait, big beautiful empty zones, lack of player character's backstory customization and its effect on companions/story, only 8 ability action bar yet oversized interface, ridicuolus inventory system, still not firing barty banter bug, slideshow ending, lack of content showcased prior to release,
And they could not manage a click-to-move in actioncombatawesomebutton mode in 5 months despite it might have been one of the biggest issue here. But you know what? I liked the shiny colorful graphics which does not match the theme of Dragon Age franchise and the the music! When portions of it actually fired as it was designed. I give it a 8.5/10.
Oh, yeah. There is one more thing:
I still can't believe they released this video and lied with such a straight face
What a way to betray your customer base.

If you bothered to learn you would't get the finger cramps. The difference in controls between DAO, DA2 and DAI is in truth minimal. You do have to adapt a bit. But hey, why do that when you can spend your days whining on the internet =).
Can someone explain to me why we can't click on the portraits of the characters so I can control two or more? or select all of them?
How can you forget to add this (like forget the walk toggle) or if you decided to take that out, why? This has been around since the beginning of time for PC Rpgs, why take this out?

Or as you so eloquently proved, spend your days trolling other people's posts on forums in a fruitless attempt to invalidate their point of view?
How about you have your opinion, and they have theirs? How is yours any more "right" than theirs?
The difference in controls between DAO, DA2 and DAI is in truth minimal.
I disagree.
I played DA:O about three months ago, and finished DA II about two days before I played DA:I. The combat schemes for both DA:O and DA II were fresh in my mind when I started DA: I. I played through the prologue twice.
The control scheme in DA:I seemed so foreign and non-sensical (and so *un-like* DA:O and DA II) to me that I had to quit playing.

Hey, I have no problem in adapting but the new controls do not give me any kind of satisfaction or fun. Also my dear, lets not go that path of comparing controls between DAO and DA:I. Clunky auto attack which is miserable for Melee Inquisitors. No click to move. No character walk to loot. No player chosen mouse binds. So please don't.
So here's the thing. I am happy that you have adapted to the new controls. But most of us have not because we did not find any fun with them. So we own the right to put forward our complaints. It is perfectly logical to find us whining on the internet and I don't really blame you. What you need to do is read from the first page of the thread till say 30-35 (if you have the time). There was almost no whining and tons of constructive feedback. But after that there hasn't been virtually no improvement to the controls and Zero BioWare participation. Look at things from our perspective. We are really frustrated. We have been promised and then flat out lied at. It has been 6 months now. Slowly and slowly this thread will die down because after some point, we will move on. You think we like posting things like we have? No, we hate it. But we do not like the way this franchise is headed. So we keep on doing what we do. It may sound whining to you, but in truth it is not. Please look at it from our eyes.

"We" were "lied at" is an opinion - not fact.
On Amazon, over 60% of all PC version reviews are positive. If only verified purchases are used the average rating increases from 3.6 to 3.9

My friend, I have never stated that it is a fact. I am only speaking for those who share my opinion, which in this thread is 90% of the posters. So I am among those 40% who did not give a positive review. "PC community concerns" means those people who have concerns about it. So let me say it again, I speak for those who have a legitimate complaint about it.
I know it is human nature and tendency to defend what one likes. So you can always ignore this thread. There are a lot of threads which praise what BioWare is doing. You should spend time there. Clearly you do not have any problems, why waste your time here?

The point being DA:O and DA2 had a working and proven PC KB+M controls that no one, that I'm aware, complained about. There is no need to change a proven system that works well in a PC whose input device controls is a Keyboard and Mouse. Your day-to-day desktop PC has no controller, certainly running your Microsoft Office suite works only with the KB+M.
Imagine Microsoft coming out with Version N+1, of the Office suite that changes the keyboard controls for functions used in the past 5 iterations of the software.. I supposed you would simply adapt to that change? Do you honestly think that companies would simply tell all their employees to adapt?
BTW, I did adapt. Said so in previous posts. My adapting abilities does, in no way, justify the game's awkward and non-intuitive keyboard controls that can't even recognise mouse devices with more than two buttons (vanilla game). Also, your statement implies an attitude that were you to buy a new car whose clutch and brake pads were in reverse order that you would simply adapt..... or would you scream about it?

yes, you can adapt in the same way you can adapt to live in places with temperatures of -40 degrees year round...the question is why have you? when it was shown to us already warmer places(like DAO)
by the way, in Amazon, its more like 50 good-50 bad....you don't get to count all 4 stars in your side until you read ALL 4-star opinions(i did); so, yes, MOST OF US....obviously not you and your 6 fingers left hand....
We have been promised and then flat out lied at.
I have to correct you here: Bioware has promised nothing. They've been very careful in wording their PR statements to avoid any sort of obligation.
True. It's my fault. I fell for it. Lesson learnt. Better late than never. One of the reasons why I have not pre-ordered TW3. Will wait for reviews.

Now that is an opinion. I vociferously complained about the KB+M unintuitive, awkward controls. I also adapted, which is a fact.
As to "lied". Technically, perhaps it was not.... but I certainly perceived misleading marketing
As to Amazon. The company is in the business of selling products, books, items or what have you. A low review score does not sell. Ergo, it behooves them to have positive reviews. Pointing out a 60% positive review for the PC game is meaningless in this context.

Yes, it is my opinion that I was lied to. That will inform my future purchase decisions concerning BioWare products.
So, there is a upcoming update/expansion. What do you guys think it would be?
Hint: It is exactly what comes first to your mind.
Yeah, I'm excited about Black Emporium finally coming out, too.
I have gotten used to the controls - It is harder when you use a melee type character .
Really if they could fix the tactical so it zoomed out farther most of the problem would go away.
If you use a ranged character the controls are fine because you don't need tactical view.

Increased zoom already patched, I believe. See Patch 5 notes:

I think you still can't manipulate fade rifts in Tac Cam. At least, I couldn't.
