2.) THE PROPORTIONS of all Weapons, do you have an Asian Manga Fan group, who has programmed that. IT BREAKS IMMERSON and is childish.

Please make an option that we could REDUCE THE SIZE OF THAT items to "real life" proportions. Do they have a sex problem or why has that happen ?

I don't know how many times I tried railing against their oversized weapons, to no avail.  It always breaks my immersion and makes me a sad panda.

Time spent on the forums take time away from actually programming. Do you want the devs to hug you and tell you it'll be okay, or do you want them to work?

No one wants all the devs to front up. Nominate some one to be Tank for Gods sake. We have waited. Surely some one can run defense!

Going after someone's personal Twitter (or other) account is not the best or most appropriate way to voice these concerns.

And yet.... the answers are coming from there and not here.

 Mike Laidlaw @Mike_Laidlaw
Tactical view force-centering when switching party members is a bug and will be addressed in the next patch. Continuing to monitor feedback.

Conal, you realise you appear to be out of the loop as PIO here (if you are a Public Information Officer).

Bravo for people going direct I say. Will you next tell people not to give a 0 rating on Metacritic because they haven't played their unplayable game?

Will you tell people that their physical ailments exacerbated by the game UI is not part of their play experience on PC for an Amazon review? You going to tell them to adapt?

More power to the people reaching out. Industry journos could learn a little something about how-to from those people.

Do you want to slap a cease and desist or restraining order on persons wanting to ask what happened to their value proposition?  You know how immature you're sounding to me?  Are you communicating this message on behalf of EA Bioware Division, as PIO?

Or as just as a Guy On The Internet" who happens to work at Bioware but all comments are your own....?

The postings on this forum are moving faster than I can keep up reading them. Not a good sign for damage control. Great for a case study how not to do it.

PLEASE Bioware/EA

fix the Way of the Assassin subclass questline.

If you proceed to Crestwood and flood the whole area the npcs that drop the quest items for the way of the assassin quest line disappear(basically bug out) the Carta dwarf guy in particular on The Flats area.

I did the area quest first before i track him down and now i can't kill him cause he doesn't exist.... so there is no way for me to get my subclass anymore.People are crying over this over reddit and other forums please fix it asap!

It's not a new character- though I've been reloading early saves. Settings are on High.

I agree with the chorus who's upset with the looting mechanics and having to hold R to auto-attack. It's extremely frustrating to have to sidle up to something and find the tiny spot where I can activate it.

The other big frustration is with the tactical camera. It's basically useless to me because it's so awkward to manipulate it and it usually doesn't go up far enough for me to even see the enemy.

I've had to change a couple of settings. I turned Ambient Occlusion to Off and set it to play in Bordered Windowless. I still can't start a new game, but I can play with my existing character.

I really can't believe what has become to the gaming community and especially the pc gaming in general.

Here we are; trying to convince other fellow gamers of our legit concerns before even reaching out to the developers...

To me; this is the summary of this 150,000+ viewed, 1,700+ replied thread...

DA:I was the first game in years that i was planning to pre-order until August i guess; where lots of design decisions conflicting with what we have been told, started to come to surface. As i decided not to buy and wait, i may not be in a position to comment on specific game mechanics. But i feel like i can say a thing or two on a fundamental basis regarding both the game itself and the discussions on this thread in general.

So let's just make things clear :

For nearly two years;

If a game is advertised or presented to take advantage of all the platforms its going to release; especially the pc with lots of references to its predecessors, iconic gameplay features etc. by its very own developers; you just don't expect it to end up being a console or controller oriented game which happens to let you play with a keyboard and a mouse. You expect it to compliment the strengths of the platform which you play. And in this case it is the pc...

I mean what is so hard to grasp and emphatise with the concerns of pc gamers ? You can easily see that they are legit and widespread by just looking at the magnitude and content of this thread...

You see; every genre has its own unique elements for the user to interact with games per platform. Like the ui, controls, mechanics etc... They are there because years of experiments, testing and feedback provided an optimal solution. So; if you are going to play an arpg game on a console, you already know exactly how its going to played. Likewise if you are going to play a fps game on pc you again already know exactly how its going to be played. There are very little nuances; some elements may change but the core features stay the same.

Suppose that; the next installment of Battlefield series comes with freelook being tied to page, ins, del keys instead of the mouse, like we saw in some games back in early to mid 90' s. Of course people can adapt but how do you thing gamers would react ?

This is what this thread is about. Not as harsh as the example above but on a fundamental base it is the same...

The content of this game is truly fantastic. It is so massive, with so many different characters, choices and locations throughout. And, it looks stunning. I care about my group, and I truly care about my Inquisition. Even moreso than I did in previous DA-games. Hats off to you. Truly a masterpiece when it comes to content and story.

But, what made the previous installments more enjoyable overall, by far, is the pure gameplay. The control I felt I had over my group, the action and combat. The pure awesome that was the combination of proper macroing, positioning and pausing (with bloodspatter and magic effects paused too, for great effect!) is why I played through these games several times.

So, how could you screw this up so much? The pure gameplay that you had such success with in the earlier games? I was soul-crushingly disappointed when I started my nightmare and quickly noticed how DA:I lacked everything. I won't bother repeating all the flaws in your PC-port in regards of controls and tactical gameplay.

So, I just started on normal and started playing it like an actiongame. Just faceroll the combat and enjoy the content instead. But as I am ready to march on the Breach, I decided to just wait for your fixes - and start a new game when you have this fixed.

Cause ... you will have this fixed right? The game was advertised as a PC-game afterall, and you said this installment was THE Dragonage you always wanted to make. This can not simply be true, seeing as how the glaring bug and awkwardness with the tactical cam was released with what we have now.

A tip for other kb+m players, use Autohotkey to toggle RMB instead of holding it 24/7. Really makes a difference when you want to play it like an actiongame. Also makes all the running around more of an ease.

And lastly, why did you dumb down abilities bar to 8 slots?

Because this was primarily designed as a console title with the PC version as a last minute afterthought.

I'll be surprised when a game company actually learns the lesson and develops the console and PC versions natively instead of crapping all over PC players with a shoddy console port.

Try this, make a new folder on your desktop and name it DAI saves. Go to MyDocuments/Bioware/Dragon Age Inquisition/save. Cut all the .DAS files and paste them into your DAI saves folder on your desktop. After that try starting a new game and see if that helps. If you want to put your old saves back in just copy and paste them back into MyDocuments/Bioware/Dragon Age Inquisition/save folder.

I absolutely recognize the concerns of this community. I am also asking that people please respect the developers who work for this company and understand that there are right and wrong ways to interact with your fellow human beings. Absolutely you have a right to voice concerns to the company as a customer, and there are a number of channels through which you can do that.

However, any sort of concerted campaign or call to arms that could result in the harassment of anyone (whether it's a dev or member of the public) is not appropriate. These aren't monsters or unfeeling automatons you are dealing with -- they are people, same as you. Going after someone's personal Twitter (or other) account is not the best or most appropriate way to voice these concerns.

68+ pages of posts from people who can't get Dragon Age: Inquisition to work properly hardly merit a response from Bioware employees, but the second someone suggests doing something that might hurt Ray Muzyka's soft, delicate feelings, holy cow, look at all the replies! Let me be the first to thank you for clearly demonstrating where your company's priorities are at. Any lingering doubts I had about my decision to get a refund have been removed.

Bless your heart. <3

I will definitely try that when I get a chance. Why would any previous saves screw up my ability to start a new game though? Weird.

I don't know but I started playing without importing from Dragon Age Keep initially. I decided to import from the Keep and made like ten characters and they all ended up in this nowhere world, so I deleted my saves, started over and lo behold it worked. My thinking was that perhaps the import save was somehow interfering and causing this problem. Just make sure you leave the ProfileOptions and the ProfileOptions_profile otherwise you'll have to redo all your settings.

Here is a thought...

-stop selling the game in all platforms right now

-open the doors for a refund to everyone who wants that

-come up with a new launch date...like Dec 18th

-treat everyone who already bought the game as a BETA testers and encourage them to give you all the feedback possible

-fix as much crap as you possible can based on the feedback and make true of your promises

-those who got the refund, will have to buy the game again on Dec 18th

EA has been doing that part for years already

Has anyone set up a PINTEREST Board?

Seriously, we have some very talented graphics people here that are making me laugh, while also addressing the issue here. I know a few journalists that might also like a laugh. They do not play video games but they do report on marketing and business. I've been dying to get back in touch with them. I would love to share a Pinterest Board of BIOWARE INQUISITION humour with them.

Do you think I'm suggesting the whole dev team come on here? Are you suggesting that its not possible that they spare a body or two?

Indeed, employees responsible for dealing with customers directly are rarely the same ones responsible for programming. This is not an either/or situation.

Well it looks like I'll be returning my unopened PC DVD of this game to Amazon.

Or will try to tommorow, anyway.

I normally do not pre-order games nor buy on opening day. I made a exception 2 days prior

to release on this one.

I'm sorry I did not follow my own advice. Never buy on pre-order or on release day. Never.

 My fault.

At least I had enough sense to leave the package unopened here as I waited for a response

from Bioware or EA on fix patches for obvious issues as noted by those who have posted already.

I saw enough on Twitch.tv streams to be aware of issues via that means as well.

I doubt anyone at Bioware is reading this but a word of advice. Do not lie about your games in

the future and don't mislead PC players.

Another word of advice. Get out in front of issues and address them on the forums. Do not ignore.

I would have kept this game without returning tommorow if I had seen more than one measly post

with vauge promisis of patching to come from the developers.  I do not trust you all now.

If I have to wait six months to a year for a proper patched version of the game, I'lll do so and buy

again in six months to a year at reduced price.

Something I knew to do but foolishly thought Bioware gave enough of a rats ass to do it right on

release for PC.

As you can see from my profile I"m not a 1 post bot. been around since 2009.

So I keep getting the gender bug while trying to make a male qunari mage on dragon age inquisition. After waiting for patches I got bored and tried to keep creating characters trying to use the workaround of switching the gender back and forth a few times before creating the character. Unfortunately I was trying to hit esc a few times to try and skip the intro I have already seen several times trying to make characters, and I bugged out and ended up in this...

http://youtu.be/Yt6IPlk-Akw

Excuse the video quality I just loaded fraps then converted to upload it.

I got that same bug last week. Ironically, that was the first time I actually got to control my character. I had to recreate him three times before that because the game kept crashing before it finished the first cutscene.

I love how there are so many people complaining about game mechanics when there are those of us who haven't even gotten to experience most of them. After a week I haven't even been able to finish the intro. I had to recreate my character four times because the game kept crashing before it got to the first autosave. I still have to open the game four or five times just to get past the main menu without it freezing. Oh, and by the way, installing the 14.11.2 Beta driver for AMD Radeon does not fix anything. I still get the DirectX errors.

I paid $80 for this game. I'd really just like to get to play it.

I feel for ya, man... The thing is, not all of us are having the issues you are.  Some have issues with the PC controls, others with the tactical camera, while still others are posting about different problems.  I think you're kind of missing the point to this particular forum: We all come here to discuss our specific problems... I mean, we can't complain about problems we don't have, can we?  (Strike that, yeah we could... my mother-in-law comes to mind in that respect).

You can take solace in one point, tho... I think it's safe to say that the driver/directx/fps hitching issues are first on their priority list.  Some folks here are speculating that we may see a patch as soon as the end of this week... Apologies, but I'm a bit more of a skeptic.  As much as I'd love to see one (even if it only did fix the driver/directx issues), we've got to remember that this is a holiday week in the States.  Even though Bioware is a Canadian company, I'm willing to bet that a decent # of their staff are Americans by birth and probably still celebrate with family here (and therefore, take time off this week -- Hell, I'm in software development and my office has been a ghost town these past two days).  Again, that is purely speculation on my part.

Anyway... my fingers are crossed that you do get to play sometime soon (and not just because I want you to feel the pain in your hands the way that I do after trying to adapt to these <bleeping> controls!  :D).

I didn't have a lot of CTD's at first but now frequently getting CTD in conversations with a DirectX error:

f11ec63f-5c3d-4c04-9378-6b170178add6_zps

On the rare occasion it was only the game that crashed, rather than my entire PC, that is the same kind of error message I was getting.

I think we all know what the problems are and so does Bioware so let us give them a little time to fix some of the problems.

You realize this is why PR exists, right? There should be a PR representative whose sole job is to let us know what's going on. The fact that everything is silent implies that they either don't care, or are mismanaged, which explains the cause of the problem in the first place.
