Go check out the pictures from Nov 7 day last year. One of the pics is a bloke checking something on his PC using a gamepad. ME4 will be a similar mess on PC, imo. Unless the ME4 team learns something from all of this.

Sartoz and DarkAmaranth1966 said it best... You have to program from a PC to make a console game. How in the heck can they not figure out how to make the mouse work in action mode? I know it sounds simple and I bet it is super-complicated-and-you-don't-know-squat-about-programming but COME ON.... YOU'RE BIOWARE!

i try to imagine dev tool that requires a gamepad and supports only alphanumeric keyboard input. i think i hear some software engineers whining. stop whining! it's the future! adapt!

they traded click-to-move for jump. Worst trade since the Mets gave Nolan Ryan to the Angels for Jim Fregosi. This is not to say that jump by itself is a bad thing. Having different elevations certainly could engender good tactical gameplay, but loosing click-to-move/interact/attack because they couldn't figure out what to do when your toon reaches a "jump point" is just idiotic.

I agree. Speaking of Jump... House of Pain... just played it again. Good oldie. Whoa... you're a baseball fan, too! Come to PC Players Group so we can discuss baseball.

I do use the ignore function. This "fanboy / troll" will throw in my two unwanted cents, particularly when an opposing viewpoint is so easily dismissed by insults.

What? WHAT???

Should I remind you the post you made the 12 april 2015, post where you jumped in this topic to just insult us all or nearly all?

Ok, it was disguised in some pompous I-will-give-you-some-lessons, but it was clearly insulting...

For reference, GithCheater, on 12 Apr 2015 - 10:51 PM, said:, just in case you forgot.

An advice for you : there is a lot of topics outhere praising Bioware for DAI : you should go back to them and let players having some concerns alone here, where we were parked by the mods, like some plague ridden players...

This advice is good for all that don't have anything of a concern for the PC version of this CONSOLE port  :P

And I just remind most of the new posters, that most of us are always here, because we like or want to like the game...

(hmmm, I hope at least  B) )

JPR out!

PS : but I will be back

Yes, for the tactical option : but it should works perfectly... And that's not really the case : trying to hide behind a wall to avoid those perky archers, and being nailed down by the arrows just phasing through it, it's pretty annoying...

Just nitpicking!  :D

I still can't believe there isn't someone at DICE or inside Bioware to address the control issues involving point-to-click or steering with the mouse. All my other complaints over the game could be addressed by later DLC, but man... almost six months and nothing?

I can live with no point & click, what this game needs is a proper tactical camera and PC ui. Last time i played DAI was in december (about 10h in) that's how unplayable it is.

Tsssk, DA2 actually. I just finished a DAO up till Witch hunt and will carry a new worldstate over into DAI. =)

I had intended to do that a few weeks ago. I only managed to get three hours into Inquisition before I had to give up. I had wanted to love it as much as I had loved the previous games, alas, it was not meant to be. I'll give it another chance sometime, however, I'm now replaying the first two Witcher games in preparation for Wild Hunt. Surely CDProjektRed won't let us down, right? Right?

That is completely untrue. Sony and MS provide Dev Kits to developers. We have a number of them here at the studio even though we don't make console games any more.. These are specialized hardware used in the design and development of console games.

Just came back to say that this is my last post. The impotent rage, rehashing the same thing over and over and over again, as well as the pointless ranting makes this a chore to even read let alone comment on. Frankly you've made this thread so toxic I can see why basically no one is left except the raging ones.

Good luck guys. I really do hope you get what you want, but I can say now that if it does happen it will be in spite of this thread, not because of it.

I may see in the CDPR forums, where no doubt some of you will turn up.

You are right. It is not that I prefer jump on space, or don't have a problem with it. It is just that they had to put it somewhere and chose space. My guess would be because it seems common out there. I probably did not make it all to clear. I believe they made that choice because they felt that it would help most players out there.  The reason for not being able to remap the mouse like some are stating would of course be nice to know. I actually came to the thread to learn something about the controls, how people out there do thíngs etc but found the most popular thing was to post a BW promovideo and calling them liars, cheaters and basically a bunch of dishonest people.

I understand. I don't have any answers though. So that's why I am still here. I do know 19 Nov there were so many coding issues. Some have been corrected since. Some not. Each time I play I do get odd issues like IB disappearing but being able to hear in March. Yesterday I repeated the steps, Krem, war table check and went to the Storm Coast and he appeared. Get back to Haven and new dialog. Why? I don't know.

As for controls, I still use QWES for movement because if I try to rebind those the game minimizes (it crashed Nov & Dec). Why again? I don't know. Space I could rebind to pause. X is jump c radar. Mouse 5 autoattack. Would like to bind more mouse but it does the same as movement keys and minimizes the game. A & D can not change at all and have that terrible turn animation.
I have short tiny fingers and this set up doesn't really work but many of the keys won't take. This is the only game I have ever had trouble with. I keep trying different combinations and its a hit or miss.

Also each patch fixes some things even not on the list like inventory, equipped inventory no long disappears when loading game. Why my guess is coding issues. That makes sense.

I am appreciative to the beta tester and Bioware employees working on the game to fix issues. But I suspect even they are not sure. Lately I have been wondering if it could be a digital production/distribution issue? I pre-loaded the Friday before release day.

When I first saw Dragon vs Giant on the Storm Coast, was very impressed, but then was equally taken with the physical destruction seen on display when one got closer to it later. And the appearances before the quest and then later in the Western Approach were terrific; only wish this had been a more formidable example of the beasts.

                                                                                <<<<<<<<<<>>>>>>>>>>

Yes, the fight between the Dragon and the Giant was quite an eye opener.  Coming to the D vs G fight with my 3rd char I wished the Dragon animation was more "lively".  A flying Dragon straffing the Giant would be more entertaining/awesome.  The audio of the two fighting certainly added to the immersion.

                                                                                    <<<<<<<<<<>>>>>>>>>>

EA's only concern and responsibity is the bottom line.  Past policies of EA is for underlying growth objectives to appease and attract new EA shareholders. As such, "venemous comments" are irrelevant.  Senior EA execs have acknowledged that their game policy toward a broader appeal will lose them the hard core gamers. So, that factor is already calculated in their sales projections.

On the other hand what I expect, from this bruha, is for the creative directors at the bioware studio to acknowledge their PC failures and avoid them in future DA games. Certainly, designing a future title with the intent of avoiding basic architectural PC game faults ought to be a no brainer.

Well if Bioware uses Frostbite 3, ME4 will look spectacular. Since ME never used mouse controls for steering and felt like a real FPS, I'm ready for the game. Will I preorder it? No. Will I wait until it reaches the bargain bin? Probably. I'm going to watch some playthroughs on YouTube before purchasing it. I hate to sound like a sourpuss, but after four straight failures to launch, a crummy ending to a great series and clunky controls on the PC for Inquisition... well... call me wary.

                                                                                <<<<<<<<<<>>>>>>>>>>

The Witcher 3 demo(s) show villages to be much more lively than DAI.  That boat ride to an island was quite funny as Harpies swooped down and attacked Geralt and damaged the boat so that it started sinking... ===> from Angry Joe's W3 demo review.

The Mass Effect team can learn from W3 and I hope some of it can make it into the ME4 production.

Best of luck to you.

While you are over at CDPR, you may wish to look into the KB&M controls. Gopher mentioned that although he found nothing amiss with them, that these were not in public use on the past press review gathering. All the gameplay footage was taken using a controller, I believe.

I am still having trouble with the "H" hold action. Especially when it is really needed, like solving a puzzle (Giant Hand for instance). If you have the people hold, and a controlled character walks close to them, they come out of hold position and follow the controlled person around when they are supposed to hold. grrrr

Hold seems to work best when one is in Tac-Cam, and double clicks on a desired location. Even the Hold command apparently is better when in Tac-Cam mode.

A question : what the point of an action gameplay if tac-cam is better even for the simpliest puzzle?

I wonder sometimes...

No pun intended!

Well biowEAr, you've again proved that you can not be trusted. Another patch and again the issues the PC community have raised for MONTHS get ignored. Enjoy that sweet EA cash as that's all you seem to give even the remotest **** about.

The Docs leaving should have been the sign that anyone wanting quality PC RPGs should look elsewhere. I fully expect a "push to win" button in the next game as the designers remove more and more options as they target as wide a market as possible, I mean that 0-5 years old market is untapped, and perhaps there can be a learn to read mechanic in the no choice conversations in your next game.

You should be ashamed of yourselves, each and everyone of you disingenuous liars.

And then, two weeks after you come back to the forums as a reviewer, seeking attention for your prose, berating haters and toxic posters and asking for constructive input.

Unless you're suffering from schizophrenia, insulting the devs one week and trying to protect them from haters the next, I can only conclude that you are a troll.
