With the new patch, if people are having issues with long load times, may I very strongly suggest the following:
1. Use the repair feature after every new addition. It shouldn't need to be done every time, I know, but it usually does.
2. The first load after a new patch will always be longer than usual. Shouldn't be, but it is. It's the nature of the engine.
3. If you haven't already, may I very strongly suggest that if you have more than 1 character, you manually subfolder your currently unused saves, especially for a first load after a patch. After a lot of testing and strange coincidences, some of the other testers and I have concluded that, sometimes, the game tries to read more than one save when it loads. We can't confirm this (for reasons I won't, and can't, go into), but having unused characters subfoldered (I have all of mine done that way, except for their very last save) seems to reduce this incidence.
If you have ANY autosaves or "milestone" saves sitting above (in time) the save you're trying to load, my suggestion is to either delete it or move it out of the folder completely. Then exit the game and try again. (do this also if you're having the "reload = everything screws up" bug after a judgement).
This may not fix the load times, but can help.
Also, to confirm: there are 3 downloads: Patch 7 (out now), BE (out May 5 US time) and Dragonslayer (also out this week). You will need P7 to use the latter 2 DLCs.

It's normal?

None of my saves will load now.
Will repair game and try again. Definitely mod hostile!
Time to move on I think.

Now Origin won't repair! Maybe it's server overload?

I'll ask because I'm an optimist, the tan pants/boots bug have been addressed already?

Lost a bunch of saves though and will have to redo some quests.
Loading time is back to normal I think. Hoping nothing is broken.

The amulets were removed. There's no indication that they will be restored.Still no fix for the disappeared Amulets of Power, at least not according to the patch notes.
Most characters have access to only two amulets now, except Dorian and possibly Sera, who only seem to get a single amulet.
It's not a bug. The shader simulates dirt and dust buildup on leather and cloth below the waste. It's by design, and it works the same as it has since release.I'll ask because I'm an optimist, the tan pants/boots bug have been addressed already?
You can turn your shader quality setting down to medium to disable the effect.

Guess so, but then they should at least also remove the message that you get an amulet in the Fade, as you don't. As it is, it's amateurishly done. Even a rather sloppy modder would fix that in an update. And then I'm against the decision to remove the amulets in the first place. Bad decision, badly implemented.

When I first saw Dragon vs Giant on the Storm Coast, was very impressed, but then was equally taken with the physical destruction seen on display when one got closer to it later. And the appearances before the quest and then later in the Western Approach were terrific; only wish this had been a more formidable example of the beasts.
The first time I saw the Storm coast one was when I climbed up top the cliff above them. Great angle, but it felt too close ![]()

I suspect that's a victim of localization (they can't just change the text—they then have to get it translated into every single supported language).Guess so, but then they should at least also remove the message that you get an amulet in the Fade, as you don't. It would be nice if they had changed it, but it's hardly the only textual error in the game (like those messages that claim you can only hit barriers with opposing elements, which they'll likely never fix either).
I think the change is fine if they wanted to reduce the amulets available; if it was solely to work around the exploit, though, I think it was dumb, especially since not all of the ones they removed were subject to the exploit (at least that I'm aware of), and it leaves some companions with virtually no amulets (Dorian's only amulet is locked behind something entirely unrelated to him—it requires recruiting a different companion, raising their approval to get their quest, completing their quest a certain way, and then following a convoluted series of war table operations to hopefully get his one bonus ability point—all the other companions still have their amulets dropping like candy, even if they get fewer now).

9.20 hours to repair. 28k per sec! When will the hurting stop!
Why is this game so f***ing difficult? Looks great, plays like crap and is mod hostile.
May 19 is looking very good from here.

Guess I will wait for my repair!
My bad! ISP had throttled me. Sorted that out, but DAI still insists on refusing any mods. Arrrrgh!

What? WHAT???
Should I remind you the post you made the 12 april 2015, post where you jumped in this topic to just insult us all or nearly all?
Ok, it was disguised in some pompous I-will-give-you-some-lessons, but it was clearly insulting...
For reference, GithCheater, on 12 Apr 2015 - 10:51 PM, said:, just in case you forgot.
An advice for you : there is a lot of topics outhere praising Bioware for DAI : you should go back to them and let players having some concerns alone here, where we were parked by the mods, like some plague ridden players...
This advice is good for all that don't have anything of a concern for the PC version of this CONSOLE port
And I just remind most of the new posters, that most of us are always here, because we like or want to like the game...
(hmmm, I hope at least
)
JPR out!
PS : but I will be back

Question: Is it safe to update my ATI drivers now? I've got other games that are wanting the new driver. I'm stil using the beta version that was recommended on Nov. 20th.

Conal Pierse can you please explain or elaborate on "Improved Stability" in the patch 7 notes?
What was done, and how does it "improve stability"?

So... Is there a patch coming soon? I heard a rumor that the mirror was coming out this month. Will it have more hairstyles (hopefully longer), or perhaps some story or something? Will there be any controls patched or implemented? Maybe the DivX crash fixed?

I suspect that's a victim of localization (they can't just change the text—they then have to get it translated into every single supported language).
Perhaps, but then it's just lazy. Plus I think one should strive for perfection - to consciously leave something that is obviously wrong is the opposite. Also, in this case, it makes that particular quest/puzzle in the Fade pointless. Why fight a couple of the hardest enemies there and then solve an annoying puzzle if you're awarded with basically nothing?

Does anyone know a way to resolve the pop-in/render distance issues I'm getting? It's killing me having to watch the Mountains, Trees and certain shadows just appearing in the distance. I've had this problem since patch 2.

Try reduce your graphics options to HIGH from ULTRA.

If one adds all the patch notes from patch 0 through seven, I ask. In what state was this game released for my $70 dollars?

As DAI was supposed to have been developed as a MMO, and as it has a M/P component, the patching seen thus far is appreciated; not scorned.

Hehe, no, because that's "working as intended".
It's supposed to be dirt buildup. ![]()
And... yeah, TobyJ, I won't be using any mods (including the one that removes the dirt buildup "feature"!
) until they've finished the patching cycle.
