About 250 pages back, we pick up the saga as May 19th approaches...

A few months ago... out intrepid heroes of the PC Community Concerns... were on the verge of taking over the newest class Star Destroyer called the Apathy. That was a few months ago... nothing has changed. The controls are the same and all of the Jedis, Rebel Commandos and space-faring scoundrels all abandoned the mission. Yes. They stopped buying into the Empire's plan. Yes, the Empire is rich and things look great on spreadsheets, but scores of users have given up. Some gave the Empire five successive titles to turn things around, but in the end... it was business as usual for EA and their new love child, DICE.

The End.

To Elhanan:

Sorry for calling you an anatomical part. You're not deserving to be called anything, but Elhanan. You're annoying and I am not taking that back. I just wanted to tell you, good luck. I hope you feel better physically and honestly, I don't want to leave here with a burned bridge. I feel compelled to apologize to you because my conscience is not letting it go. So forgive me. Maker Bless You.

Not really, as I also prefer DAO. However, I enjoy the entire series; have multiple sessions in all of them.

Inquisition really has been a weird beast, for me.  I very much like the game, but it was a disappointment (i.e. expectations, reasonable or not, were not met).  I still feel I am fighting the controls, though it has become much easier (I've never been bothered by the LMB+RMB stuff that many here seem concerned by) since remapping keys and the - patch 6, I think - increase in the tac cam zoom out.  I have been very lucky compared to some here.  I've not had a single CTD - or any other glitch/issue - since patch 4, and even before then maybe a dozen in total.  I feel for those that have had these issues - it must have been infuriating.

I too, greatly prefer Origins, but Inquisition is good in it's own right.  The expectations I had may well have been my own doing as I've never followed a games development as closely as I did with Inquisition.

Minor anecdote - I was in an elevator this morning to see a client when three others got in.  The lady excitedly asked one of the gentlemen if he'd played Dragon Age and he replied, "yeah, I liked it but it got kind of boring".  Then I reached my destination floor and got out so didn't hear her response, but it was noteworthy, for me, at least, because it is literally the first time I've ever encountered anyone else in New Zealand that has played DA.

That made for very interesting reading!

Most preferred Origin. DA2 came out well.

I played Origin as a noob! Unmodded. Then I discovered Nexus.

Skip the Fade changed my world!

Sure there were issues. A lot has changed since Origin.

Voiced protagonist was a backward step. Would have been so much better with selectable voices.

A  Dalish elf should sound elven at least. Qunari being polite! WTF.

Most damaging was the replay value. AOE Mage, archer then uninstall.

Why so many companions? I play as a mage, take Cassandra, Sera & Viviene. Tank, 2 mages and a rogue.

Varric, Dorian, Solas, IBull sit in Skyhold for the duration.

~~~~~~~~~
No more preaching to the choir.
10 hours to go :)
Not all of the peeps on the internet are wrong; simply a lot of them that post here....
Yes, and for me you're certainly one not to follow...
I like the game, but cannot complete it more than once because of the controls that are too much clunky for my tastes...
And I have much more hours than you can imagine, but I play offline since patch 2... So much for the DAI time counter  :rolleyes:
JPR out!
I am not negating anyone's critical comments of the KB+M controls.  I am stating that the substandard controls do not prevent most PC players from enjoying the game.
The large amount fetch quests, the lesser amount of dialog (500,000 words for DAI compared to 800,000 for DAO) and the substandard pc controls, are insufficient flaws to prevent DAI from being a good enjoyable game for the large majority of PC players.
One stating dislike for DAI yet having multiple playthroughs seems disingenuous to me.
Hey,
incredible : I'm agree with you :)
After all, this topic is for people having concerns with the PC version of the game, not simply disliking it...  ;)
I will repeat myself : I like the game and certainly doesn't regret my purchase... There is certainly a bunch of improvements I was hopping to have in the game, but I can go past them, but not the controls... I really wanted to play my signature hero in the series (two weapons rogue) but it's just so painful even in normal I stopped all attempts...
And believe me I tried really a lot, but offline after patch 2 :)
JPR out!
Yep; beauty of the Ignore function.
So you've ignored someone who has been quite mild yet you clearly haven't ignored those who are more vociferous. By the way do you realise that by your trolling you just prolong arguments long after they would have died down. So if you think you're being some sort of devils advocate you're actually just making things worse and more heated.
No; just choose to Ignore some posts while examining others. Recommend the function.
I don't know why you would ignore that particular post unless its because it provides a refutation of your arguments that you cant answer.
CD Project Red and Bioware have this need to facepalm themselves. Both release cinematics (ie: trailers) that are untypical of actual game graphics. Meaning the trailer graphics are far superior to the game's. When the player community gets wind of this, both have a poor defense justifying their marketing actions.
This is a small reprint of an interview from a CD Project red artis justifying the apparent graphic dissimilarities. I find his justifications hillarious.
"We didn't downgrade it. We didn't downgrade, because it's impossible -- it's impossible to downgrade a game that didn't exist before, or wasn't playable before. There was a guy on the internet who commented that, or something like that, that you cannot downgrade something that -- there was no grade to downgrade. Comparing a final product with a product that wasn't playable, that wasn't a game yet. There are two things that people have to separate, downgrade and optimization. Optimization is necessary to make the game run. Downgrade is when you deliberately make the game worse for some, for whatever reason. I mean, that's totally not what happened.
"There also something that people probably have to understand, is that it's very unfair to compare trailers and gameplay demos. A trailer is a beautiful shot. A trailer is this prepared -- you take one location, you put the perfect lights and the perfect camera angle and the perfect set-up. It looks set-up so it is beautiful and it is captured at super high definition and you post-process it and -- it's a trailer. It's a trailer and we pick beautiful shots."
source:  https://www.neoseeke...gameplay-demos/
Notice he dismisses the marketing trailer and throws in a red herring on the meaning of downgrade, then shoots himself in the foot with his perfect camera shot angle and set-up. No once has he justified the reason for a marketing trailer's super HD graphics vs what a game will deliver.
Hm... interesting.
My first quizzie's male voice change, reached Emprise du Lion.... couldn't go on and stopped that one
My second quizzie, a female, suddenly looked horrible in some cut scenes. Nothing like what the CC showed me...stopped that one
My third, another female, also suffered a face visual with certain cut scenes.... I now realized it's the game's graphics at fault. This one is a stop-go, stop-go, long time in-between.
Now, I too,  can honestly say I have multiple sessions. But, these were forced upon me by the game's CC vs in-game graphics disconnect and a voice change.
Point here is that the phrase  multiple sessions is meaningless.
Edit: Someday, I hope to complete DAI.... just to get my money's worth. Right now, I'm really not in the mood.
I read this on another forum too! Scares the hell out of me.
When will they learn not to treat us as children! Bioware did it and more.
Made by PC Gamers for PC Gamers!
Trying to make a game that runs on a PS4 and a game that runs on a reasonable PC rig is not the road to success. Bioware proved that.
Though they really screwed it up by trying for old gen as well. Darrah was  greedy.
User reviews will start appearing after tomorrow, so we will see what they have come up with. I hope it isn't a DAI fiasco!
Fingers crossed!
I'm not afraid at all about witcher 3 being another DAI...I mean, look at the options you have in PC menus:
http://www.pcgamer.c...e-and-settings/
I'm pretty sure that it is a pc games made by pc gamers.
Honestly I don't care if the graphics end up being like NeverWinter Nights. As long as it's not a borefest filled with soulless fetch quests like DA:I  >.<
True, but my sessions were complete ones: 20+ for DAO, 6 for DA2 (I believe), and 2 for DAI plus some other starters. Good luck with yours!
Curious if anyone from Bioware or EA is reading this forum post anymore?  There's been no communication since February when they wrote "So, I have a bit of bad news. The rebinding of mouse buttons is unfortunately not part of the patch 5 beta. We know this is something the community has been asking for and are looking for ways to implement it in future."
Any update?
