I just received a copy of Witcher 3 with my new Graphics card!
Will probably start playing tomorrow evening after I get back from work.

Another TW3 PC update:

Also a nice look at some PC settings:
The tub scene looked sharper on low settings
interesting how great it looks even on low settings, though noticeably improved on higher settings. Very noticeable on the water quality especially. Nice to see hi-res textures too. Can't wait for tomorrow am.

I thought the difference between Low and Ultra was quite less, which is bad..

I did read that about the KB&M. But, I also read you can rebind them so we shall see. The fact that keys are rebindable on launch day is a plus.

If KB&M controls on TW3 are bad it doesn't excuse BW, it just means both are at fault.
KB&M controls are different to previous, you need to rebind a few keys to make it easier. But Definitely not completely horrific.

My day started at 3:30am. After leaving my Studio 6 (which was surrounded by cops, a coroner's vehicle and an ambulance), I drove a half-hour to the meeting site. From there we all piled into a 4WD truck for the 90-minute, low-speed drive on "trails" to each well site. We started two new wells and inspected a dozen before calling the day. That nature drive back to civilization is enough to drive anyone to murder. Anyway, we discovered two wells offline and we have to figure out why they're down tomorrow and we've got contracts to start a new site Thursday. Anyway, It looks like I'm going to be out all day, so I'm posting today my final letter. It's not May 19th... it's a day early.

Agreed, as was the case with DAI.
I completely disagree. The controls are "functional," but still a crappy chore to get through.

A pile of poopoo next to another pile of poopoo will not cause the first one to smell better. It will still be a cute little pile of stinky poopoo. ![]()

First, I would like to start by saying thank you for bringing to life two franchises that are near and dear to my heart. Secondly, I would like to congratulate you on your recent success with Dragon Age: Inquisition. Thirdly, I want to thank you for setting standards in RPG gaming that are reflected in every successful title in the genre since Baldur's Gate. Lastly, are my concerns for the franchises and my personal views on Bioware after EA's acquisition.

Ok, now to close my account and start preloading another game. I have confidence it will start up with no issues. I will learn the controls in less time it took to uninstall Inquisition and enjoy a new realm. It's not Dragon Age, Mass Effect or Fallout, but hey... I am smiling again.
Sad to see yet another fan leaving. But... considering the way they're doing things I guess they'll have to get used to it. ![]()
And the judges' scores: 2.2, 2.3, 2.6, and from the Russian judge, a 1.4.
We'll be back with more coverage of the Flounce Event at the Internet Olympics, right after this.
An excellent post from the heart, Cyan.
I personally loved your contribution.

Agreed, as was the case with DAI.
I don't mind a game changing the control scheme as long as it provides me the ability to switch back to how I played the previous titles.
Odd. I don't remember Inquisition offering me that ability. I recall it only using the control scheme that I didn't use.

Odd indeed; mine did, though Point & Click was in Tac-Cam. But the keyboard was 'fixed' on Day 1 for me.
As for TW3, here is another glowing review, though the controls get less praise:
http://www.pcworld.c...g-monsters.html
"And I also think the PC controls are not great, to say the least. After playing the tutorial I abandoned the keyboard for a gamepad—clearly the input device the game was designed around. The keyboard controls are unnecessarily convoluted, with “Dodge” for instance requiring you to press Alt and W/A/S/D at the same time. Considering how much you’re dodging, it’s a huge pain."
Pointing out the flaws of another game does not excuse the flaws of DAI.

Ahem, just popped in to mention that as of about an hour ago for those that already purchased the Witcher 3 (on Steam confirmed) it is live now. No waiting until tomorrow.
It was live at 11UK time. I suspect cause it was midnight in poland at the time...

Huh? I'm french, the controls of TW3 are a pile of steaming craps : guess what, I have an azerty keyboard, and I'm not able to remap the WASD...
Another crappy controls console port....

One more...
Well, going back to my trusties old rpg... ![]()
JPR out!
I can also confirm that the controls are horrific and clearly designed with controller in mind. Cheap cheap console port.
