and you should recognize that your enjoyment doesnt matter too because YOU are not the companys customerS. how many people complain here? lets say 200 different people, substract from them 50% common EA bashers, console conspiracists, people that really have problems playing or starting the game, people that just like da:o more and people complaining about things like fetch quests you only have 100 people left complaining about the controls. YOU are not the mayority of the customers, YOU are a whining minority.

this doesnt mean that there is no room for improvements in many aspects, this doesnt mean the game is bug free, its far from that. but this doesnt mean the game is unplayable or a 0 out of 10 too. the problem is you can find for every bullshit people in the internet that supporting you and your opinion, but that doesnt make it justifiable or less bullshit (creationism anyone?). so dont think you speak for the customers of the game while you just speaking for a view hundreds out of thousands.

looking forward for a patch myself to hopefully get rid off a view annoying things, but i enjoy playing the game so far without it, even with mostly tactical view (with m+kb) because of highest difficulty.

Sorry but you are wrong. Look at it this way - from those 200 how many stated they LIKE the controls ? 3,4? So yeah we actually represent the majority of PC gamers. Another example - from 30 friends i talked to 0 enjoyed the controls and all find them frustrating.

Ofc you won't see 200 000 people posting - most agree with the posts so far and don't see the need to say the same things, I never posted on official forums for example for the DA2 or ME3 before either - that doesn't' mean I wasn't disappointed....Not to mention that the majority won't bother to post - they just won't buy it or refund it, or never buy game from Bioware on faith ever again. And that's the problem - I only made account for the forum now and write here cause it pains me to see the company I had immense respect for going down like that. If it was ANY other company I wouldn't have bothered to write either - just return the game and stop buying. And that's one of our problems - we are not vocal enough, we expect someone else to have our interest in hearth so we don't bother....

There's no simple path-finding solution for a click-to-move option in a 3D game with different elevations. It's why games that are heavy on environmental exploration never used click-to-move, even when the PC was a lead platform for those times of games in the 90s. And those games had far simpler 3D environments.

Agree, logistically it's simply not an option because every possible location needs to be reachable without needing to perform additional commands (like jump).

The question here, however, is combat.  How often will combat take place on different elevations that can only be traversed via jumping?  I haven't played the game yet, but are there enemies that actually jump up to reach you?  If not, then it still might be possible.

No, enemies don't jump. And if you cast a spell from the tac-cam while on an unreachable ledge/area, you do sometimes get ported down. If there is a walkable path, both your companions and enemies will try to take that. But there are rarely situations where the player or NPCs are in unreachable locations. The bigger issue is with smaller collision items; rocks, logs, stumps, etc. which often do require jumped to get unstuck from. Slopes which are too steep to simply walk up would also cause some issues I imagine.

This has likely been said a million times, but I'll be grateful for a mouse attack function (outside of tactical mode). Like, when you click on the attack button, then next, at a target, your PC automatically moves to the target and attacks it. Is it difficult to also bind that function to the mouse?

The teleportation is due to the tactical camera mode snapping you to the nav mesh (since it drives the pathfinding and without that you wouldn't be able to move).  When this happens you likely got to a place that wasn't "expected" to be traversed (or was considered very bad if your party members and you all ended up there).

Things like jump more create challenges to a "tactical camera view for the entire game for all things."  It does cause some hiccups in places where combat uses more vertical elements and/or contains tactical advantages that can be exploited by leveraging jump as well.

Mod tools runs into the challenges of licensing middleware that exists in the engine and the reality that we aren't sole creators of the engine so it may not even be our call to make.

I'm sure if we were to do it there'd definitely be a good number of PC gamers that would be delighted, but I think that it'd be something we'd have to be looking on supporting from the onset of the project.  Unfortunately I wouldn't expect the mod tools situation to change.

That's a shame, mod tools would increase the game's longevity so much. sad panda  :crying:

Aside from the mobo brand and couple hundred cpu GHz, you have my exact system as I do.  Love the 850.

Do you have any issues? Because there must be something that causes them, usually it's the state that people leave their PC's in, but I'm sure that all of the afflicted persons here have tried a format and fresh install.

Best regards

Do you really believe that game-breaking bugs and crashes is not one of the primary issues they are trying to gather information on for the patch?

Seriously, now.

Seriously what? A question was asked. A response was avoided. If it was deemed a primary issue, what would be the harm in saying so? No need to get an attitude.

If I don't answer a question it's possible I missed the post or don't know the answer.  In your case I couldn't say as I haven't been exposed to any discussions about that.

The stuff I've been a part of in terms of discussion have been more towards improving the PC controls/experience going forward (though I'm actually tasked on various back end online work for the bulk of my 9-5. My perspectives were asked for more because I interact with the community on my own time a fair bit and can help collate some of the feedback).

Fair enough. Thanks a lot. :)

And how exactly does that help the community? By telling them they all need get +2000$ rigs to play the game?

first, mostly disappointed customers post in forums, satisfied people play the the game. every single mmo would be dead when the impression a game forum gives would be right. but yeah there are more than the 100 disappointed that i mentioned, i give you that ;)

second, to not hate the controls is not the same as to like them. i'm sick of controller optimized menues too, but thats mainly a quality of life feature and not game breaking. skyrim has them, even the witcher has them as a pc only title. its not a matter of if there are controler ui's, just how they are made. and there is definitly room for improvement in da:i, but dont expect a full mouse and keyboard optimized ui like in divinity original sin (sadly). thats just reality nowadays, and with better overview and a few quality of life features it would be totally fine and playable. when you are used to mmo ui's even origins had a really bad ui (and was massively critizised when it was released too)

Well, I would give you the suggestion to start it up, if the game works without issues for you you'll find it actually to be pretty damn awesome. Ok the TAC cam needs a workover and the tactics system is limited, but I'm having loads of fun. Might be because I actually like using wasd to move, I feel more connected to the character that way :).

Anyway, I hope for all of you that the crash issues get resolved so everybody can enjoy this game, it'll only get better with patches.

P.S. Thank you Allan for the constant feedback now, this is exactly what the angry mob needed, as you can see 99% of us calm down when we get feedback on our concerns.

Ok that's actually helpful :)

What about the companions that stays blocked into open houses when combat start outside, or companions runing into walls or barriers infinitly ? Or companions using the bull charge and just passing through mobs and continuing running until they are well outside of combat area or blocked on the decors ? =/

Also, Allan, would you be able to tell us what u think about the Glaso try on a UI ? Would that be faesable as far as your knowledge goes ?

I don't really know where you got your numbers from but oh well, all my components except for the GFX card and SSD are more than a year old. This isn't a monster rig, I'm guessing you're a bit sour because you are experiencing loads of issues. Did you try to format and totally reinstall your OS and game?

Don't direct your angre to me, I only tried to help.

The Nav Mesh is still there and the pathfinding still works while in action cam (your followers and other entities still pathfind) so from that aspect point and click movement is possible.  There will be some edge cases that may need to be resolved, such as when you move to a tricky position via WASD/jumping, and then try to issue a move where the pathfinding system isn't properly set up.  Off the top of my head we could just do nothing (can't pathfind, so don't move) which may be confusing.  If it ends up requiring some form of feedback to let the player know or alterations to the nav mesh, then potential knock on costs/effects can start to branch and will also need to be assessed.  Though the messaging may exist in patch notes so no in game work is needed to support it as well.  Things like that.

My rig is more then capable then running this game on high with ultra textures @+60fps. No loading issues, only had a few crashes to desktop that i fixed.

You still aren't helping though.
