In what ways is WASD not responsive enough? The inertia of starting moving? I'm not sure why would hold LMB+RMB alleviate this when at first glance it seems like it wouldn't be much different than holding LMB+RMB = holding W.
Just curious if the issue is something else and that LMB+RMB wouldn't innately fix that if that other issue wasn't addressed.
Not to speak for abearzi, but melee combat, mostly because of the lack of auto-attack and auto-follow, is an absolute mess. I've switched to playing on casual because every time a shade pops out at me while I'm trying to close a rift and starts beating me over the head, all my character does is stop trying to close the rift and doesn't hit back at the shade.
Steering my character toward the bad guy using WASD and then targeting him and then mashing R is... well, kind of ridiculous. I can't just press W to get to my target. The easiest thing for me to do is use one of my abilities to jump to him and then keep mashing R. Honestly, my favorite class is the DW Rogue, and I hate playing it because of the combat. I've never been a huge fan of combat anyway and I can adjust to WASD controls, but the lack of auto-attack and auto-follow makes combat downright painful, even in casual.
And please correct me if I'm wrong, but from what I'm getting from your posts, it's sounding more and more like we're not going to get click to move or click to move to loot. I don't want to buy a controller, but I'd rather know sooner rather than later instead of hoping I'll get by until it gets patched, only to have it never get patched because of the, "I played with WASD and thought it was fine" mentality.
And really, I couldn't give a rat's about jumping, so I don't care, and am not sure why it's a feature that anyone cares all that much about. No, you can't get past the prologue without it, but that's only because of the barrier you've specifically designed so that you have to jump to get through the prologue.
You guys really do have a great game from what I've seen so far, but it's so lacking in the controls for the PC that the experience of playing it is marred.
