is this normal since I am trying to connect my gamertag to origin. I am in that mode where i don't want them to win by getting me to hang up. I was "transfered" over an hour ago.

It wouldn't be unusual, given the timing. They have DA:I release dates occurring all over the world, and many people are contacting them for tech support.
That's not to say that EA tech support can't be notoriously difficult to get a hold of, as I have experienced during a time when they didn't have a major release happening.
I will say that my experience with them - once I had a human being on the phone - was actually quite good. They put a lot of effort into my issue, spending over an hour on the phone with me, and running tests along my connection.

oh the guy i talked to was nice but it is bloody ridiculous to wait this long. but i know if i hang up i will have to do this all over again

the music is starting to taunt me. it will stop and I will think someone picked up only to have the music start and destroy my hopes

Open origin. Go to Add Friends. You'll see an option that let's you connect your origin account to your gamertag.
