Hello everyone,

So it seems people are having issues creating the colours and make-up styles they like in the CC.

After playing in the CC for approximately 10 hours, I've gotten pretty good at tweaking colours and figuring out what works.

Here you can post your inquisitor and show-off their gorgeous colouring or ask for some tips in achieving the look you want. :)

It would be great if someone did a youtube tutorial so us untalented types could see where to put our sliders. I am trying again, but it seems like I am doomed to have an unattractive human female. I can get the colors ok but the profile, face shape, hair etc looks terrible.

@ duckley: What preset face are you using? Head 5 is a good one to get started with. Also, In the general section, under face structure, 1 and the last one (6 I think) make for some fairly attractive faces, right off the bat. In the eye section, try the second eye (kind of an almond shape); it looks great in-game. And some hairs that look good in-game, as well, are the bun and the pony tail with the face framing layers.

Just some thoughts based on my personal preference. They might not work for you, but here's hoping!

I gave up on make up long ago.  As something I have no knowledge or experience of IRL, I found it hurt more than helped my female Wardens/Shepards/Hawkes/Dragonborns/Fateless Ones.  Exception, Dunmer on Skyrim with their baggy-eyes problem.  I think I still manage to do pretty well, as my female characters generally look much better than my dudes.

I really like head 4 (I believe, the pale 80s looking chick.) and the second set of eyes always turns out lovely.

The mouths are all nice, except too full for my tastes.

The other really nice hairstyle is the chin length one with the pushed back heart-shaped bangs.

There are some characters that I'm fine leaving without make-up, but others have this personality that requires make-up.

I tried 6 completely different styles in-game and countless options in the CC. It takes a bit of dedication to get right, lol. But I love fiddling with colours.

Overall I found that the CC here had great options for makeup - I loved the separate lipstick/lipliner option. However, I found that the lighting in CC had a greenish tint which made all the pinks and reds much more subdued. I found that my character looked great in CC but when the game started I was surprised to find she had bright neon lips and blush that looked like it had been applied with a paint roller - I had to start over. What I would recommend to people when using pinks and reds to go more subtle that you actually want and the results will turn out okay.

Absolutely. The lighting and intensity can create absolutely garish choices!

I was surprised that what looked like a gray-ish plum in the CC actually turned out to be quite a magenta in-game.

How the heck do you get a decent black on that colour wheel?  It always seems tinged with another colour...

It's extremely tricky. I found the best black to be in the centre of the red section, mid to left bottom corner. About centre between the bottom and the dark line.

YMMV based on your tv/computer screen settings. So you may just have to drag your cursor around until you can get the darkest setting possible.

You can also try the purple/blue side, but that's going to give you tinges despite being darker.

Hey!

Any idea on how I can use makeup to give my guy a more natural lip look, rather than the default shiny red that he originally comes with? No gloss pls! Cheers :D

It sounds weird, but I found that by giving my gals a tick or two of white, grey or blackish lipstick (from the red end of the color wheel; you'd need to fool around to see what shade gives the best results), I could dampen the super-red default lip just enough to look natural without actually giving them white/grey/black lips.  And don't forget to turn lip gloss down!  ;)

Well, first off turn down the shine slider. Then go to either far side of the red section. You're going to want to be just off centre, closer to the right, and about a third down from the top. That should give you a nice taupe/peach sort of colour.

If you'd prefer more tan, go to the orange slider. :)

Good luck!

I would love to see what people have been able to do with Kossith females. The males are fantastic and easy to make - I cannot for the life of me make a female Kossith that doesn't have something really aggravating wrong with it plus the strange bug/glitch/feature (is it intentional maybe?) with the way eye shadow no matter how dark has these strange "white" highlights on the inner eyes near the nose.

There have been a number of lovely qunari (who are not Kossith as that's a race removed from what qunari are today) posted in this thread http://forum.bioware...nquisitor-here/which you can use for inspiration.

I think that's meant to be highlighting on the eyes.
