Hey guys, I played a lot (far too much) of Mass Effect multiplayer and loved it. How does DAI hold up ? I'm optimistic.

No comparison. ME3MP way better. I player 5 DA matches & was so bored I had to play ME3MP. Might try a few games tonight.

This is my initial reaction as well, but I'm holding off any real judgement.  I only have a Level 7 Dwarf fighter guy and a Level 4 Keeper, it's not like I've seen any kind of deep level of skill combination, class combinations, etc.

It's way, way, way different.  Which is to be expected.  But I had this false hope that it would be like slipping on an old, comfortable pair of pants.  But these are shiny new pants, that kind of bunch in a weird way and I'm not sure how my ass looks in them yet.

So-so. It's nice to be able to pick which class to unlock, as opposed to being at the mercy of the RNGoddess deciding which class and weapon I got to unlock. On the downside is almost being forced to play a class you don't enjoy to get a game rolling (I hate the Keeper), or holding a max of 2 of whatever potions per session, which like ME3MP, encourages the hoarding of auxiliary supplies.

I hope to unlock another class soon, as I'm curious as to what the others have to offer in terms of usefulness.

Its a pretty good first attempt at a multiplayer dungeon crawl. If you've played any MMO, is a watered down version of what you'd get from a dungeon in one of those.

I think it lacks some depth, but is a solid foundation to build upon over time.

They are similar like a double cheeseburger and an egg mcmuffin are similar. Same company. Same rng packaging. But the ingredients for combat are not the same and taste way different.

If I was capable of playing the MP I would judge it, but every single one game I join my guy just freezes still at the beginning point of the map and does nothing.

Hey guys, I played a lot (far too much) of Mass Effect multiplayer and loved it. How does DAI hold up ? I'm optimistic.

DAMP is definitely not ME3MP

I too, played far too much ME3MP and pre-ordered the game in the expectations of the MP portion.

Sadly, i was severely disappointed.

ME3MP is fast paced, run & gun.

DAMP is more like Neverwinter MMO, or rather at this stage, alot worse then NWNMP in terms of gameplay.

It feels more like dungeon crawling on skates due to lag if one happens to be fortunate/unfortunate to encounter a laggy game

Give it a few months and maybe the devs can iron out the kinks but as it stands now,IMO, ME3MP gives one the adrenaline rush while DAMP, is too slow paced to give the same AR.

I'm thoroughly enjoying the MP, but I enjoy more tactical, teamwork oriented fights as opposed to the run-n-gun style games.

Would like to enjoy, if it wouldn't crash every single time I have a decent round. I think I have completed (read, wiped) three matches. Everything else just CTDs. All the XP lost. At least you still get to keep the Gold, major kudos for that system, because I'd probably be rustrling my jimmies quite a bit if I didn't get at least SOMETHING out of all those crashed games.

Also, whoever was told to make a dungeon crawl MP was a tad too literal minded. So far there's no kiting in the MP. None whatsoever. If you draw aggro, all you can do is kill them before they kill you, because unless you have one of those evasion abilities, it is impossible to run away from a foe. That or the movement system is helluva unintuitive that I just can't figure out how engage tactical cowardice speed buffs.

So far, not impressed. ME3 MP is a LOT better.

ME3 multiplayer was better at launch than DOI's version.  That said, I'm still having a blast playing the DOI multiplayer and would recommend it.

DAMP is a bit rough.  Lots of information is not listed in-game and the crafting system seems thrown together at the last minute.  I am enjoying it and the skill trees offer a lot of variety but respecs are needed (for gold, not as consumables) and the combo system needs to be simplified.  As noted, it is still fun but it is definitely too grindy, and not for the better.

Imagine if ME3MP had no open beta... it is a bit like that.

It has potential I think... I'm hoping that it is only a months worth of patches to being a blast. Right now it is fun enough to try to get classes unlocked for when the patches are in place. Harder than ME3MP to finish a mission though. And yes, I'm comparing first week to first week... then again, there was open beta to get warmed up on for ME3MP.

DAMP is waaaay slower paced compared to ME3MP. Especially on the PC, with the awful controls, it gets pretty boring really fast as a melee character.

As others have said, it's a much slower game than ME3MP, and quite a bit more grinding. Though I don't really mind the level grind the gear/item grind, at least at the low levels we're at, is horrific. One completed match will get you one item and two random pots. 2-3 completed matches will get you five items and five pots. Crafting one character takes anywhere from 20-24 items, if you manage to get the right mats. If you break down five swords and get a drakestone, serpentstone, iron, paragon's luster and an onyx you've gotten nowhere fast and that's only a slight exaggeration. I'm consistently extracting with my lv ~12 keeper on routine but finding a match to go threatening is tough, and I'm not even sure I could handle it in the first place with my raggedy equips.

I like it,but it is still pretty basic. When we get some new maps, characters and few patches will be even more fun.
