I am so very glad that i've got this DAI moment spoiled.

I will start a new (Keep did not transfer correctly anyway, as it turned out) with a choice "King Alistair"

Because to make me choose between mr  "Swooping-is-bad" and my Humourous/Sarcastic Hawke mage... hell no!

Sorry, Stroud,

Does look like Stroud will be the red shirt guy from Star Trek as Loghain might be useful later as he is a very good general.

This is why I am glad hawkes Warden friend is Stroud in my playthrough.

I'd like to think that my Hawke would have something to say about the whole affair once it's done.

Hawke: "Stroud was a good friend. When the qunari attacked Kirkwall, he gave me this ring. Worked in a pinch against the Arishok."

Varric: "No it didn't. You ran around the room."

Hawke: "Well, it's the thought that counts."

It couldn't be any worse than this.

Alistair: "Hey! total stranger here is the only memento I have left of my lover who died to stop the Blight. Accept it."

Hawke: "Shouldn't you keep it...uh...nevermind. Thanks...I guess."

*At the present time*

Hawke: "That's how we became friends."

The Inquisitor: "SEEMS LEGIT."

What I don't get is Loghain sacrificed himself to demon spider and we escape but. Where the heck is Stroud after we come out? He could of became the new Warden leader but he is nowhere to be found.

Sigh oh well at least my lady hawke and Carver are safe

I see that we have again that Bioware ideas of "somebody-has-to-die" thing that appeared in Mass Effect. No matter what you do, there is someone that will die even though you love the character. Shame on you, Bioware.

Dragon Age: Origins was perfect in this case, where you had so many choices that you could keep everyone alive (well, except Loghain, but he's antagonist anyway). Since that time, there are too many stupid ideas that make a player to make a dumb choice - kill an important character, or kill even more important character.

This is why you romance Merrill and don't destroy the Eluvian. After you leave Hawke hulks out and kills the demon spider, Merrill activates the Eluvian and rescues Hawke from the fade, lots of passionate elf lovings are had, the end.

It is perfectly possible to keep him alive, also with this choice I am so glad that i decided to recruit both logain and made alistair king at the same time :-)

I wouldn't be surprised if this actually became a thing. I mean the whole Merrill using the Eluvian to save Hawke, not sure if BioWare would throw in the passionate elf loving right after the rescue haha

Wait so...

Instead of having Alistair's head mounted on a pike in Denerim... I could have him die in the fade instead to be tormented by that monstrosity for all eternity? :o
I need to make some changes in my next playthrough. Would also have made it a real easy choice.

I feel so relieved Alistair is king now. Thank you to Ale12_02. Side note: I can't believe how many of you are killing Hawke?!

Part of me is super glad that they didn't overcomplicate this and add Beth or Carver to the potential Wardens, but I would have ****ing loved watching a full on Hawke/Carver sibling slapfight for dibs on who gets to die a big, fat hero.

Oh if we could choose which Hawke could get dibs on dying I would choose Carver just so he can actually be a hero for once

so do you still get this choice if alistair is king? or is stroud the choice?

You only get this choice if Alistair is a Warden still and not King (not a drunk either IIRC). Then, it's Loghain if he lives with the Wardens still (if neither executed, nor fed to archedemon).

It doesn't matter if they kill a million Hawkes. The one thing that matters is that they can't kill mine :D

This. Bioware is very good (or bad, it depends) at bringing the dead people back to life.

I wonder how many Alistair fangirls are biting their nails right now? They usually said they keep him an warden because that's what he wants. Well, you didn't pay the price back then but you pay it now, one way or the other. It would be quite the twist however, if the current warden or Hawke that got left behind miraculously show up in the sequel alive.

I don't think it'd be too big a twist given the ending.

Spoiler

Well, I guess I'll get to find out what Varric says about an aggro-Hawke that was still his friend, because I'm not going to deprive Warden-Commander Tabris of her man....

Well, the keep did not import correctly for me, and the Hawke that appeared is nothing like my Hawke, so no matter who he's up against I shall be killing him. Take that Keep. How dare you try and pass off that fake as my Hawke!

Hope I won't lose Varric though, that would suck. :(

So they are stuck in the fade, but not dead?
