I would sacrifice Stroud in a second, the same for Loghain and I have world states where those will be the options. Hawke over Alistair would be a damned difficult decision, and I have a world state where that will prove a dilemma for me personally.
I can't know what I will do at that moment, and I will just put it out of my mind until then!

To be fair the text says something along the lines of "They will likely not survive" instead of "If you do this, this person is dead forever. Like forever, forever, no take backs".
So nothing is set in stone. probably how they can justify it later if they come back. ![]()

I'm pretty certain that I'd let Alistair live over Hawke every time if I had to make that choice. Luckily, that's most likely not going to be an option except for in 1 or 2 games at most. Hawke was a protagonist in a really bad game and while he was interesting, Alistair is a character BioWare has had a hard time with and got him right. A love interest for female PCs that people actually liked. Seriously folks: break out the champaign on that one!

Hahahahahahaha......Stroud hahahahahahaha......can they even make an easier choice than that? Here you have this random dude that is devoid of character and has a name that screams: "Please put me out of my misery!!!", and someone is still complaining that it's a tough choice.

Wait until he finds out what happened that one night you were short on firewood.I don't ever want to see Varric that sad ever again. My dwarf friend will always stay happy.

Doesn't leaving Stroud in the Fade mean that the Warden-Commander never gets the warning about Corypheus (if they're alive)?

Hawke offers to go to the Anderfels to inform the grey wardens what happened.

Holy crap. I am not mad at spoiling this for myself, luckily, it's Stroud in my current playthrough, so that is not a hard choice, but dude never will I ever kill off Alistair. Holy crap. Glad I saw this now so I am aware of the choice I want to make.

Stroud is basically not even a choice. Loghain isn't much either. I like his redeemed Grey Warden character, but he has both lived a long and storied life and had much to atone for yet still. Alistair would be a hard choice.

The Warden is on a journey to find a way to cure the calling. He'll probably get a letter about what happened, but they're most likely far away from any wardens or Anderfels

Warden Alistair has never happened for me. He's always drunk or king. I figured it be the same for most, but I guess not. Apparently Warden Alistair is common enough.
It's sad though that this is what a Romance with him in the Wardens comes down to. Makes me wonder how they'll punish other players with other characters one day.
