The receding hairlines for women are just bad.

This has been a common enough complaint that I am sure they are looking into it.
Although I think it takes a backseat to resolving the major bugs for the first patch.

Eh hair is OK
But those lips....always so wet. Like they have a cold or something.

One of the best quotes I've seen for the hair:
Eight Ways 'Dragon Age' Can Still Improve After 'Inquisition'
1. Bad Hair Day
While coming to next gen has done wonders for many aspects of Dragon Age’s visuals, from its armor textures to its environments, there’s one thing that still feels decidedly 2009. That would be character hair, which again, I told you this list would get nitpicky, but it really is noticeably terrible. It’s like stuck-together pasta, and the engine mandates almost every hairstyle be close-cropped to avoid compounding this problem. This results in especially terrible hairstyles for female Inquisitors, but guys without a shaved head look pretty silly as well. Grand Theft Auto struggled with crab-claw hands for years before they figured it out, and it seems hair is Bioware’s cross to bear at present. Hopefully this will be the last time we see it in such a state, as it has barely evolved at all since the first game five years ago.

Yeah, I scrapped my first character, because I just couldn't look at her (her skin tone and makeup were not good in a real-world scenario).
With my second character, I turned the shiny lip gloss thing off in the cc. It looks MUCH better.

I agree, it looks like they all have elaborate hair helmets, and the guys (who have more facial hair than stubble) are also wearing face armor in the style of facial hair (both due to the extreme shiny metal like textures).
My biggest beef with this game (and all of the Dragon Ages for that matter) is that they INSIST on forcing you to create your character in dark lighting. It's really hard to see the tints of hair coloring or even makeup. Had to scrap characters over the years right after character creation because they looked like clowns or something.

It took me an hour to get a character I liked, had to restart 3 times as soon as I stepped outside after the first cutscene. That bright snow would highlight all sorts of issues that you can't see in the dark character creator.

Turning the Mesh setting in Options to "High" loses the Pantene shine in hair AND beard.

Only problem with the hair is how shiny it is. You look like a damn Ken doll.
This struck out to me too - it looked as if everybody had dunked their heads in a vat of oil in the morning. Came to the forums here, and found the solution - in your graphics settings, set the mesh setting to high, and no more shiny hair.
At least my computer seemed to handle the one higher setting fine.
