Is it the last mission involving Clan Lavellan if you picked Josie?
I think there's supposed to be three missions per Origin.

The war table operations have a big impact in how the inquisition is seen going into the future--as a mighty military force, a powerful spy network with eyes everywhere, or a diplomatic powerhouse. Some of the missions have widely different results as you see here, as well. It also factors into who becomes divine and whether Lelliana is hardened at the end. Inquisition isn't just about you as a hero fighting, it's about how you lead and the choices you make.

...So is there gonna be like an individual choice for each one when the Keep includes Inquisition?
So pissed on this, because to fix it I have to roll back hours of gameplay. I can accept that my clan gets killed but to have no response in the game itself about this is just tremendously lazy. But you know, its only most of my elven inquisitors life and everyone she knew gone up in flames. And Varrics guilt over puting Hawk in danger certainly warrent a cutscene instead. WHAT!?
Guys something just occurred to me: there isn't an option in Dragon Age Keep to select whether clan Lavellan is rulign Wycome, or any choice regarding race-driven war table missions, for that matter. Does this imply that the outcome of these missions will not be addressed in future games? Im not sure what the results of the human/dwarven/qunari missions are, but getting your clan to rule a city in the Free Marches seems quite significant to me, and should have an impact on the future
By and large I love this game, but I have to agree the backstory war table missions were a bit of a swing and miss. Its not so much that the quest is mine field; I am fine with something being difficult and requiring careful deliberation. The bigger issue is the emotional stakes. If you are going to propose something and large as "the only family I have ever known was slaughtered" that needs to be addressed in the larger game structure. If time/budget/whatever does not allow for that level of investment, it should probably be left out entirely. I had to go back and replay that section, not because I didn't get what I wanted, but because I just could not see the Inquisitor moving forward without some form of reconciliation/bereavement period. It feels like a case of having a good idea, but not having the time/money/energy to do it right.
The order is Cullen - Leliana - Leliana - Cullen in order for your clan to survive
While I'm absolutely gutted my clan is dead, what really bothers me is that there is nothing from your companions. Even Solas - who is my LI and who I would expect something from - is mute on it. With the caliber of writers they have at Bioware, and the in-depth convos we were all hearing about before the game was released, would have thought someone on DG's team would have realized 'Wait. We just killed off the inquisitor's clan. Maybe there should be some retaliation for that? Or even, how 'bout someone from his/her inner group being sympathetic??? No? So, we'll just ignore the whole 'my family is dead' thing again? Okay-dokey!"
Gotta love how misleading the advisors suggestion can be.
Josephine: If the elves join the battle, they're all gonna die! Let me reason with the nobles...
EVERYONE DIES
Cullen: Let them fight.
Clan Lavellan lives on. This is why I have trust issues.
It's not... Quite like that. It's more like
Josephine: Let's try to talk the nobles down before they kill everyone.
Cullen: *scoffs* Let the nobles try to kill them after we fortify the hell out of the city and turn it into a fortress with Inquisition flags over it that they'll need a damn army to breach the walls of. They want your clan dead, they're going to fight through an army and breach heavily fortified walls and gates and do it and with the knowledge that they're attempting to sack a city that the Inquisition considers it its own territory. They would be fools to even try.
Josephine is a "maybe we can talk them down" and Cullen's is a "we won't need talking because we'll make the city literally impenetrable". The latter sounds safer to me.

Yeah, it's a badly missed opportunity there. In the Inquisitor's place, I'd probably hire assassins to eliminate everyone that was involved, and make sure that their families join them. The filthy shemlens would feel the wrath of the Elfquisitor.
They said that they wanted to do multiple races right, but it seems to me that if there is no content for an elf losing their clan, what possible reason could they have to justify including that option on the war table? It would be almost as silly a Cousland Warden having no particular reaction to Arl Howe. Either include a reaction to a loss or don't make it possible on the war table. Anything else is absurd.
They should have just wrote it so that the worst case scenario is your clan needing to evacuate to some place well out of the Inquisition's territory, like Rivain or somewhere. Enough to know you failed, but nothing that should realistically cause your character to sink into a deep depression.

I agree with this otherwise ...
Clan gets completely slaughtered.
Solas (If romanced) leaves.
What could be more depressing than that. Your game should just give the game over screen.

I'm really surprised people had trouble making this decision. Cullen outright says "If we send diplomats, they'll kill the elves and apologize" and that's exactly what happens. You're warned against really bad decision making.
On my first Lavellan play through, I saved my clan completely by chance, so I had no idea they could die. Next time I chose a Leliana option that stated it would be "risky", but she was the only advisor that wasn't busy so I figured it would be fine.
Now I know!
Same here
. To be honest the only point I could've screwed up would have been sending leli to assasinate the duke, but she was busy, so I sent Josie with a lot of reservation, but it was before going to sleep so I could've redo it easily if she failed. Those who sent Josie to ask nobles for help or to talk down the once attacking the city get what they deserve. Never trust shemlen, especially shemlen nobles. ![]()
In regards to war table missions, I almost always trusted Lelianna to get the job done.Cullen for backup. Lelianna always seems to produce results in this game.
Screw politics.
Man, it's just that by now Bioware should know what RPers most of its fans are. I don't mind it being difficult to preserve the clan, but they SHATTERED the fourth wall with this one by not having a single reaction from any NPC until Trespasser, where Cullen will make a little aside about your loss if you prompt him. What jerk decided to write in this questline after the VO was 'closed' (whatever that means?). Just totally, totally careless. Everyone saying the wartable is garbage is right. Great game in so many ways, but so much of the story is left for you to tell yourself, rather than experience. Lots of reading- and entire regions of the game are optional, without any cutscenes, just little sidestories with no payoff when you finish them. I don't get it. Seems like an EA rush-job to me. Sorely disappointed.
