Find Taigen's Notes..  UM WHERE ..  the icon on my map shows nothing on ground nothing in the house near it nothing on the rocks nothing in the trees..  Just where are you suppose to find his notes the map indicates a diamond on the spot I stand and yet there is NO notes to find.. there.  Please anyone help here? As i really wanted to complete all the quests in Haven. Hate leaving something open in a zone. Thanks very much if you can help here!

Use the search for hidden items function! It's L3 on PS4, not sure about the controls on Xbox or PC. It should have popped up as a tutorial right before you pick up the quest.

I used the search its V on pc ... i ran around pressing it over an over around that house nothing appears I thought if i complete a quest the diamond goes away .. so just assuming this isnt complete .. no npcs around there either

that's odd! There's supposed to be a hidden item on the table in the shack. Possible bug?

The search works similar to a metal/treasure detector. Pay attention to the pulsing sound. It gets louder when facing correct direction and closer to the hidden item.

no there isn't anything in there I read a paper that was on there or something in other words all possible clickys have been clicked inside the house. I'll wait to see if more people post here on some sort of clue of why I cant complete this one yet.

Pressing V creates pulses a single, growing circle. One part of that circle glows brighter, and that is the direction you have to walk to. You have to be really close to the object to reveal it.

It takes you into the house. Once in, go to the far right corner. The object is on the desk.

Like i said I have been in the house and collected everything possible especially on tables yet the diamond is still on my map .. and doesnt say complete on journal could be bug not sure

You need to keep pressing V until you're practically on top of it. That's when the pulse reveals the object. The reveal makes it so different from a normal pulse reveal that you know you've found it. It's not a simple outline like it indicates Elfroot.

 

If that doesn't happen, then you need to file a bug report.

It's hidden though, you have to ping to make it reveal itself. So you can't just walk into the house and have it be there.

Im havng the same issue with a quest marker in the Hinterlands. There is a ! just below the first atrarium, near some sort fo weird statue on a box. No matter how much I spam V, I am not getting any quest, nor revealing a quest item.

ANSWERED :   this is tricky.. once you learn this aspect of game all quest items are easier to find.  I think someone mentioned in this thread but ill repeat.. 

 

Using the V you must stand over the exact item nearly and press V what will happen is it will ching and show a little icon that says Examine. then you can complete it by clicking it. 

 

This was my issue... I would get near the place but couldnt see anything because I hadnt pushed the V right in that exact spot. I noticed this when doing the Warden Quest in Storm Coast. (so hint use that V to find your items ) sometimes need to Stand over papers or books just to get that search / V to work. Pulses yes but who would have thought you needed to stand exactly on the item ( papers or books etc etc)  Good luck

When you hit search, you get a flash on your search circle pointing the direction you need to go... it will lead you right to the spot and a final hit of search reveals it.... not sure how this is considered hard or difficult.

I was making the mistake of trying to position my character exactly on top of the quest marker on the map, and that's not where the note turns out to be. Whew! Thanks for the help; I was going nuts running in circles in the snow.
