I can't seem to find any more decorative gems, I thought outlaws where dropping them, but I've killed a few groups and didn't get any. Were they Templar/Mage drops only? If so how screwed am I as I've already cleared out the Templar and Mage camps.

Having the same problem here. I have only found one decorative gem, and I'm quite a bit past the hinterlands now, was just going back and doing side quests. Now there are no bandits, no templars, and no mages to fight, not sure what to do.

I have the opposite problem I can't find velvetian anywhere wher did you guys pick those up?

I got all the velveteen from the outlaws quest new dusklight camp in the hinterlands and as for the decorative gems I have gotten a ton of them from everything

The problem for me is that I've finished ALL of the main quests for the area, never got enough gems to finish the requisition, and now there are no enemies left. At least none that drop the stuff I need. The only things left roaming around are rams, bears, and one dragon. No bandits, no templars, no mages. No human enemies at all, it's beyond frustrating.

I'm running into a similar issue looking for Ferelden Locks, which is a couple of requisitions past the banner. Can't seem to find any human enemies on the map anymore. My OCD is killing me over this.

I got lots of velveteen from the east road bandits. Problem is, they get used up fast.

 

HOWEVER, I discovered that the requisition quests loop. Meaning, you can't complete them permanently. There will always be another one, and it may even be one you've already done repeated. I've done the tapestry one about three times and the survey one two or three times, don't even have the prisoner cage one people have talked about. This tells me that they don't affect the story in any way and are just a power battery (+1 power per requisition), but there are lots of ways to get power so, I say screw the requisition nonsense. You don't need to complete it. I'm assuming Haven ones and ones related to actual quests are important, but all other ones are just noise. I haven't actually played far at all into the game so don't know for sure, but given that they repeat, I'd say it's a pretty solid bet they don't impact anything.

You can buy velveteen in Val Royeaux if you need to. It's near the bottom of the market. It's a shop that has beds inside it. No idea where to find decorative gems other than random drops though.

I checked every shop there all the lower and upper 5 total shops I believe and none sold Velveteen....are you 100% positive it was there?

This is a glitch in a game after you complete the last quest in haven mages and templars no long spawn. So we're pretty much stuck in that quest because you can no longer get the necessary mats.

I also can not complete this quest, as the templars/mages are no longer in the map.

Yeah, I got a grand total of 1 (that's one) gem, and I'm level 23

Requisition Quests are endless loops. Let it go. They will be forever stuck in your quest list or else you will always have an Exclamation Mark on a map.

Bioware, please fix this endless loop! A simple decorative gem should be an Item some vendor would sell!

Heh. I have 3 decorative gems (need 4 for the blasted requisition) and 0/4 malachite... pfff

So irritating to see those 2 quests in journal everytime lol.

I find even more irritating the fact that I have to RUN AWAY FROM the requisition officers at camps, because they FORCE me into dialogue for "new" (read repeatable) requisition quests...

I doubt this will ever get fixed though... oh well

I finished the mage and Templar quests bfore I got this quest from the requisItion. Got a velveteen from a random loot and 0 decorative gems. I think the criteria for the gems to drop is having the quest in your journal first. I think the quests are given randomly coz I got the hinterlands survey thrice (as my frist hinterland requisition quest) but my bf in his gameplay he got the tapestry quest first (he just completed the crossroads part) . he's level 4, I'm 8. He got 4 deco gems as loot from the mages upon completing the apostate mage quest.

 

Anyway moving forward I travelled to the dwarfson pass camp and went 10'o clock from there as instructions found online, 4 Templars were there and only 1 dropped a deco gem. I guess I ll have to go on with other quests first and come back as respawn in the game takes considerable time... (from my exp with the bergrits claws quest)

 

Update: just recruited Blackwall and the rogues/bandits attacking Blackwall drop deco gems. Got 3 of them this way which completes the quest on the Gems part...

After a certain point one cannot complete this quest however there is a mod where you can purchase it.. and uninstall after if you wish or keep the mod. Check out : http://www.nexusmods...tion/mods/814/?
