Remind me never to skype with you - you'd hate my voice!

Nah, people have the voices they have, and I'm not going to judge someone based on something so superficial, but if I'm selecting a voice as an avatar of myself, I'd go with something much deeper. I'm female, but I've got a super-deep voice, deeper than Cassandra's, and I really treasure the rare occasions when non-traditional voices are given some love. I've been hearing that my voice isn't feminine enough my whole life, that it's too butch and not expressive enough. It's no accident that altos never get to play romantic leads in opera. I never said that my preferences were anything other than personal.  :)

My mom is an alto. Wish I could sing harmony like she does.

I love having the choice, too, and feel the same way: playing with a character that has a very different voice is disconcerting! I'm also coming from old school unvoiced RPGs, so I'm always a bit worried about the PC VAs.

Funny about the German voices being older/younger instead of having the different accents.

Hey!

Did you notice that when you pick Alix's voice for the qunari all the riding and other various sounds are Sumalee's and all the dialogs are Alix's? It is rather annoying. I hope Bioware would fix that.

Yeah, and when you pick the Sumalee's voice for a human, you get Alix's combat/ambient barks. It's annoying, but I suspect it's complicated to fix.
