I won't make this long. I'm too angry to write anything eloquent.
I did not follow the development of DAI. I was so disillusioned from DA2 and ME3 that I just didn't care. A week before release I thought "What the heck" and I pre-ordered my copy for the Xbox 360.
So I spent the half hour doing the Dragon Age Keep thing then I went to play the game. Except it has to install 7.1 GB. That's fine, I have over 150GB room on my HD for my 360 S.
I finally get it ready to start up and I carefully take the "Play" disk and put it into my Xbox and from the get-go, while I love the music, the thing that stands out to me the most is the absolutely HORRIBLE graphics and animations. And I'm not even talking about "compared to the XBOX ONE or PS4", I'm talking about compared to DA2, ME3, Farcry, Fallout, etc.
Dialogue isn't synched with mouths, characters have strange postures and move with jerky motions, armors aren't loading on characters in the Inventory screen and textures simply aren't rendering.
When I got to the point where the "Inquisition" has started, the render of the flag as it dropped was a grey mass with some dark splotches in the middle.
The next thing I notice is that load times are crazy long. For this game that I installed on my machine. That's fine, because I enjoy the voice work and most of the new features even though I'm not crazy about the "Lock on Target" function when playing a Rogue, it makes it hard to Flank opponents.
Day 1: Play for approx 1 hr 30 mins.
Day 2: Continue and play for approx 3 hr 30 mins. The glitches in the conversations are overlooked.
Day 3 morning: Continue and play for approx 1 hour.
Day 3 night: Save games will no longer load and the Xbox freezes up. The only thing I can do is use the power button.
I think, maybe I'm crazy and I check the disc. It's crystal clean. Not a scratch. Try again and nope, music cuts out during the load and the game and console freeze. Not the "Red Ring of Death! " either, just locks up.
So Bioware, I've spend $90 for 6 hours of gameplay. Guess how happy I am?
