I heard that the Barrier Ring was fixed with last patch, so I figured that .... ok that's wishful thinking.

Pretty sure all of this has been posted but some didn't have screens that I saw..so here's my interesting crap of the week. Stopped buying stuff until system is updated.

 

It hurts to see low level runes on those items when I have scavenged at least 20 superb runes in the last week alone.  Goes to show how bad rng really is.  You could be the single most loyal player at the top of the leaderboard and still have mediocre stuff; meanwhile somebody gets their first couple promotions and is already rocking the big guns.

I honestly was hoping they would add more gear so I didn't bother slotting them since I haven't needed it..actually broke down a few for cloth =D I just save all my gold until all my classes are 20..buy chests..then promote. Doesn't help RNG but it makes me feel better to actually get at least 1 purple after 100 chests lol

 

But thanks for taking out your bitterness on a random stranger that you know nothing about.

No offense was intended toward you, random stranger whom I know nothing about.  While I am certainly bitter toward RNG, I had no intention of "taking it out" on you.  I simply couldn't help but notice low level runes in your gear and assumed (apparently erroneously) that YOU DON'T DESERVE THAT GEAR, NOOB!!!   Hahaha just kidding.

The best staff I've manged to find thus far. I'm thinking of remaking the schematics for it, and focusing solely on magic and attack.

How's that a troll?   I had no idea that was a thing, something else BioWare should adjust (if true). Same reason I don't bother making a grip for my bow, as all I have for cloth is Silk, and some others that only do +Magic, which I think is useless for an archer. The armor penetration is a side effect of the only materials I could use when creating the staff's attachments at the time (Can't recall if it was the staff blade, or the grip) in any case, like I said on my previous post, I re-made them, and these are the current stats on it.

Ah sorry DShdw86, so many trolls on the BSN that we always have to keep Guard up

 

You will need Cotton (and it's variants) specifically in order to get Heal on Kill for one of the upgrades. I don't have access to the game right now, but I believe it is the staff blade upgrade that has the Utility slots that will turn Cotton into Heal on Kill.

 

+8% HoK is the best you can do, since it has two utility slots you can put Cotton into.

I understand lol. Thanks for the advice, I think I have some Lustrous Cotton laying around, though I might be confusing my SP character's inventory with the MP one, but that would be a good idea. I'm still holding out hope for a more powerful staff as well, preferably a fire one.

Well, the top end staves only have another 10DPS over the one you show in the link, so IMO go ahead and get that upgrade. Even 6% HoK can be a game changer.

Totally, having no hok items except for weapons upgraded for it, I have to agree. When I used to use aw, the difference is night and day with 6% hok. The difference between hok and no hok is game breaking,especially at higher difficulties. I use my bow of cruel redemption over lotg when playing my Archer on perilous, only because of the 1% heal on hit and I go for survivability over some extra dps until I get hok items.

I spent about 170k, got no crap worth speaking of, except for a secondary Fury of the Veil. All I wanted was a Walking Bomb Ring and a 15% Cooldown Amulet. I would give all my gold for these two items. A best-in-class Staff would also be nice, but the more I play the less I can be bothered.
I could spend all my savings but honestly I don't have the time nor the patience to salvage items after a dozen or so chests. Nobody does.

I am running Blizards Path at the mo, unique Cold Damage staff, my Fury of the Veil is better but I just like how all the kills explode and infect the people next to them, combined with walking bomb and virulence on my Necro this staff is causing non stop exploding people..  Also works wonders towards the Hypothermia Challenge..

 

DPS: 66

Cold: 41

+5% Attack +5% Bleed on Hit +9 Magic On Kill: Target explodes for 75% weapon damage

 

These are the 'naked' stats, added Staff Grip and Run will up the attributes/heal on kill and DPS significantly..

 

High DPS is not everything, I often choose weapons for attributes and in this case, entertainment value..

Just curious though.. you don't consider Fury of the Veil best-in-class (or one of best-in-class)?  What do you think are the best-in-class staves?
