Fury of the veil has the veil strike proc, while pyre of the forgotten has the 23+ attack which is noticeable for a 'certain' mage that makes his dmg up close even higher.

Yeah, random is random.. but 2 extremely rare rings nearly back-to-back? I think the 'p' in 'pRNG' really glitches out sometimes.

I've gotten multiples of a unique item in a single sitting before. There's definitely something peculiar about the system.

There always is. I've played many RNG games in which you camp for one item forever and when it happens they just keep pouring in. Also getting a case full of greatswords and nothing more.

Had a nice Threatening team and we won. Instead of going to buy the big chest and get on with my life I chose to stay with the team and do a few more runs. Few wipes due to some people leaving and others changing classes but most of the time we won.
All in all highly enjoyable teamplay.
I ended up with nearly 6k gold and decided to call it a day. Superstitious that I am I created a Perilous Private lobby and started firing up the chests. 3 big chests later nothing usable and my next big one had a blue item left. No purples, I was disappointed, until I turned the card and saw my first ever HoK ring, blue 5% one.
Decided to open a medium chest with the little money I had left and a purple card pops up. I was like WTF Holy Batman when it turned out to be a purple 10% HoK ring.
Two HoKs on the same chest spree. \o/

It's AOE damage though, so pretty worthless - it would be much more interesting to see the single target one.

I don't see AOE as being worthless. AOE just tends to do less damage than single target equal quality/rarity dagger.
That exact dagger still does plenty more AOE damage than even the best single target dagger in MP.

I use 2 purple HoK rings + purple healing belt and I get ~25% HoK. Not quite invincible.. but almost.
