I'm having a lot of trouble all of a sudden. My companions and I are level 8, and I've just hit a total brick wall. Though I had tough points before this here and there, it hasn't been too bad until now. I feel like it's not a matter of the game being too hard (it's set on Normal anyways), it almost seems like I'm playing the game wrong or something. My attacks suddenly don't damage some foes at all, and my companions go through potions faster than rotten Taco Bell burning a hole in your colon. I've looked up some minor walkthroughs for the quest and they all act as if this is a fairly by the numbers run & gun quest, but I keep running out of potions before I get to the big red demon guy at the trebuchet and then when he shows up I just get curb-stomped. Help please ![]()

What kind of group are you using? You will want a well rounded off group, 2 dps 1 support and a tank. My character is a 2h warrior and i use Solus Varric cassandra or the Blackwall ( think thats his name) you can also adjust the tactics of your party, I set the tank up so he defends the controlled character. You can also either take their ability to use potions away or limit them on how much they consume. Default is 2 per party member and they take them after they get below 30%. Another big thing is gear, make sure your party has decent gear for your level and also make sure you are setting up your party members skill points for what role you want them to be. Just read the skills before putting a point into it. If you make a mistake you can always respec by buying an amulet from your stronghold blacksmith. As far as some enemies not taking damage, Some enemies are immune to certain elements like a Rage demon is immune to fire you can check their immunities by looking at them in tactical view. Hope I helped you out!!

If you're talking about the big fight at the end of that quest, there's one important thing to know: most of the enemy reinforcements won't come until you move the siege thing. Fight a wave, then move it, then repeat. Don't try to move it while fighting or you'll quickly get overwhelmed.

Ugh that fight, by the end of fighting the final wave, Sera had 1 HP, Solas had 5 HP, Blackwall had 3/4ths of his HP, and I had half my HP. Sadly it was at that point that I realized there's a respec chest near by that completely heals you, and by the time I realized that I didn't need it because there were no more enemies. So don't do what I did and not look around and ignore that, it'll save you some headache and a lot of micro-managing, especially if your allies get as weak as mine did.

I suffer a lot in that part, im playing on normal, what i did is funny if you think about it, wen only my main character was kiking i was forced to run trougth all of heavens map looking for supplyes chests, this give me the chance to figth only two or three enemies because the big boss cant keep whit me in, it takes a while because my character sudenlly in this part cant do a lot of damage to the templars, so when i do the full lap, i star to get that machine turn again and more templar show up,i can figth them without much problem because the big boss was still afar, but still i can only keep them at bay, then the big boss comes again, but this time the boss can reachme because i star to keep going around the machine in circles smashing whit the shield the templars that stuck in my way, he sometime was summoning a cristall wall that i have to break, but he seriously cant full hitme, this was getting so frustrating so i decide just to keep turning the machine, by my sorprise the boss dont atack me while doing it, and i just have to stand against some templars hiting me whit their sword, i was about to die when the machine fills his gauge and everything was finished. ufff

The recommended lvls for that quest is 8-11, I did it as a level 7 on hard but it was incredibly difficult, it took every grenade and health/regen pot I had and it still wasn't enough. I was hampered by the ai as well. Using varric, solas, cassandra and my dual wield rogue, using gear and weapons I carefully spent time crafting I found it manageable at first, but the last fight takes the cake. I had to turn down the difficulty to normal and didn't even attempt to fight the boss, I just operated the trebuchet until the cutscene was triggered.
I've learned my lesson though, I was so eager to get skyhold, but the story is just so good it's hard to resist. I'll make sure I'm leveled up now for quests in the future.
but yeah, make use of those potion refill spawns, you only get like 3 I think during the haven siege. Use the tactics screen to limit the amount of health pots your companions jug down. And use regen pots to heal outside of combat. Use your tank to taunt and build guard, use your mage to keep up barrier and really focus fire, if you manage it right with good positioning only your melee chars will need to use health pots. My dual-wield rogue and cassandra work especially well together.

The first time I did that quest (I ended up restarting because I didn't like the character I was playing) Everyone kept dying....except Verric, who spent most of his time reviving at least one person so the fight would continue.
