I played for a few hours to get the materials to make this cause I didn't really like the normal armor plus I needed the upgrade I was So happy when I made it I put it on and it didn't change I was like OK maybe just a bug got into a game exactly the same this is super fricken lame its like I made this armor for no apparent reason only for 10 extra defence I little upset since it said "New armor appearance" under it so I am a little pissed off is this a bug or did they really do that.

All variant armor outfits I have received so far have been recolors or the normal outfit.  I have however seen a hunter in what looks like explorers/hikers garb with a backpack and such, as well as a few reavers using some form of alt. outfit.

Once you build the first armor, you should have options to build 3 color variants and also a higher tier armor (blue) that will look quite different. Once you build that, you should have options for 3 color variants for that tier as well.

That's the furthest I've gotten so I don't know if there is a 3rd tier available, although I believe there is from the dev streams.

EDIT: I should note though that I have not unlocked the Katari, so it's possible his second tier armor looks very similar.

Noticed this too on the Katari. I crafted the Arcane Warrior's next tier of armor and it was completely different. Had a hood, shoulder pads and a sort of cap/tail. It was also just a blue.

Crafted the Deathbringer armor and it turned out to be a purple/unique and it's exactly the same skin. Though the default skin still looks cool, hopefully this IS a bug and not some classes getting left out on the looks department.

This is really frustrating. I have all the materials to craft my Deathbringer's Hide but I will wait until this is fixed. When you craft the highest tier recipe it should reflect the rarity of the item in appearance AND stats.

Maybe the MP team got rushed into launching this game early or possibly they had to trim data and remove textures to fit it on a console disc? I don't mean to start a PC/console war but if this is the case of us PC players getting an unfinished product it is very disappointing.

I would just like to point out that this bolded point makes absolutely zero sense. But please, keep trying to blame it on the console players, I find it incredibly amusing.

I'm not blaming anyone. I'm speculating on why certain heroes have new skins for their highest tier armor and some don't.

Please feel free to continue to take offense to nothing at all - it's amusing.

Can you offer a better reason why certain heroes have new skins and some don't?

I would say it's because the MP is buggy as hell and needs a good bit of patching/QA, but I can only go by what I've experienced playing the game.

I found this if you're interested in some of their reasoning regarding disk/game size.

In a subreddit, Bryan Johnson of BioWare’s Quality Assurance department wrote about Dragon Age: Inquisition’s install size and graphics.

Speaking about the game’s install size, Johnson set out to answer the question as to why the PC version takes up only around half the room as the current-gen versions of the game take up.  He noted that the PC version takes up approximately 24gb of space, while the current-gen console versions take up around 40-46gb of space.

1) On Consoles there is generally less skus, so you generally need more than 1 language on a disc. So for example the europe version of PS4 has German, French, and English for VO. Each of these take up about 2gb (or slightly more). PC by default we will only deliver 1 VO language, to cut download size/disc install.

2) The “bigger” reason, PC is still predominately DVD9s in disc form whereas next gen can go up to 50gb with dual layer blue rays. So 1 Disc is approximately 6 discs. So Data size is actually harder to come by on PC. There is 2 different primary data formats on frostbite, each giving their own benefits. The PC version has smaller on disc size, at the sacrifice of a bit load times. These load times can easily be negated by using a solid state drive, or symlinking *.cas formated files onto a USB drive or a SSD (This is a well established BF4 “trick”).

3) This is more of continuation of 2, but for games it is pretty difficult to find some sort of packaging solution that can fit more than 4 discs these days. The old “double size” spindle cases are pretty much out of existence in terms of manufacturing.

I saw the Katari wearing Arishok armor in the Destruction Stream on Twitch. How do you get that?
