After I play Mass Effect on my computer the sound always goes out after about a minute of gameplay. The sound in game continues perfectly but if i try to listen to anything else outside of the game there is no sound. If I click on my speaker icon in the toolbar it says "there are no active mixer devices available". This problem can easily be fixed by a restart but I was wondering if there was a way to make Mass Effect not cut out my sound.
I am using an older Windows XP Dell Dimension 9100 and this sound issue does not occur while playing any other games (ex. Dragon Age). I would appreciate any advice anyone could give!
