So I was just wondering what the other legionnaire tanks are doing with their points?

I went straight for walking fortress and grabbed siege-breaker and war cry after that and I'm really hard to take down now, wondering how to further my invincibility without choosing redundant abilities.

Rolling is a beautiful maneuver in my humble opinion. There are times where you just shouldn't take a hit, and rolling can help. It's also a boon for if you're knocked down and archers all over the place.

War Cry / Siege Breaker spam, I also use the basic second tree ability (improved) and a basic Shield Bash to take down guard off brutes and such.

I also got the improvement so that taunted enemies are debuffed, but I think it goes without saying.

I went down the middle of the tank tree and picked up a few side abilities.  By level 12 he's tanky enough for Routine so I'm starting to look at the damage tree.

I currently have Payback Strike, the 8 second invincibility thingie (with upgrade), the aoe taunt + extra guard thingie, and guard itself.  Start with the taunt and extra guard, then you can attack a few times and know that everything is going to hit you so guard again and BAM up goes the guard meter even more, then once it gets low hit the invincibility with extra guard generation as you get hit and you swing and stuff and then once that gets low again you're ready for the taunt thing again

so yeah by that point look at the other tree for stuff like faster stamina regen and whatnot, there's some nice utility there for tank legionaire

Maximum tankyness:

2 taunts + siege breaker + shield wall

Idea is to generate as much guard as possible while keeping the enemies on me and giving my allies the 20% damage bonus against taunted enemies.

I have tried working in a dps skill, but I usually need all my stamina for blocking since I am constantly taunting.

Tanking in general is pretty thankless since you get way less experience than the DPS who get more medals. We need to get medal for absorbing damage or something.

I respeced out of shield bash and all damage dealing abilities. Your teamates will do enough damage and taunting helps more.

I have shield bash and payback strike fully upgraded. The passive that restores stamina quickly if it drops below 50% too but that's about it as far as the offensive tree goes. For defense I have warcry, walking fortress and shield wall fully upgraded as well as a bunch of passives that either increase health/guard or decrease damage taken.

War cry, walking fortress, counter strike, and then the 4th is between shield wall and an attack skill. Legionnaire Is pretty OP really.

This is the build I wound up using and enjoyed immensely.  I like Shield Bash as my only offense given its low stamina cost, detonating ability, and AoE knockdown--especially good on higher difficulties--but could see the gapclosing detonator (same tier as Shield Bash, opposite direction) being very useful as well.  You don't need much offense but being able to detonate, damage, and CC all at once seems ridiculously important.  Shield Wall seemed really, really great when I didn't have true invincibility guard generation with 33% (?) uptime and two high stamina cost abilities that build guard to full.  Now I just get aggro, use cooldowns, and kite for longevity--gives less support XP but I'm preferring it vastly when it comes to success rate.
