I have wandered all over Fallow Mire in search of the wisps for the the Knight Enchanter specialization quest. So far I've only found the one at Granite Point. Was hoping that someone here knows where the other wisps are located so that I can move on with my playthrough

not really explored much of the Fallow mire yet, but I've got one wisp already somehow... my problem is the lazurite, where the heck am I supposed to find that?

The 3 Wisp Essence drop from 3 pure wraiths, in the Fallow Mire, 1 in each of three locations; Old Thoroughfare, Weeping Spires, and Granite Point.

 

Each pure wraith is part of a group for wraiths, so you will know when you have found them.

You can also get Wisp Essence as a drop when you close rifts. I had about 10 of them by just closing rifts.

As to the books needed for specialization, just search near the companion who has that specialization. For Knight Enchanter, it's Vivviene.

I can't remember now, but are those the same things you turn in to be researched? If so, I might have turned them in for the damage bonus, although I don't see them in the codex.

I can't find any Wisp and i don't get wisp essence when i close rifts. Can this be a bug?

I had the same problem. 

I generally don't find them around the rifts but further into the map. Leave the road and search the corners of the map. Find two that way and later got the last one on a different map/quest. 

Either way, those wisps are hard little scums to find.

Finally found them, the one in the Weeping Spires was by a windmill, and the one in the Old Thoroughfare was in between a rock wall and a cabin. Also, if you don't have Vivienne, you can buy the book in Val Royeaux for fairly cheap.

The Book is found on the upper tier of the main hall in Skyhold. It is on a night stand where Vivienne's can be found.

 

The Wisp Essence can be found by looting the PURE WISPS (look like tall Wraiths) usually in a group with Wraiths. Found near these 3 landmarks in the Fallow Mire

 

1. Light of Andraste (near begining of level actually a little west of the marker near a barn)

2. Granite Point       (southeast of the second Camp)

3. Old Windmill        (Southeast of the 4th Beacon)

 

The Lazurite can be harvested in The Western Approach.

I've killed all three groups, but number 1. didn't drop a Wisp Essence.  

 

Fast travelling away and back to each of the three spots never seems to respawn the groups + Pure Wisp, so am i left to just RNGing normal shades etc and hoping for a random Wisp Essence drop?

They're all next to a landmark.

Yes i've been to each of the three locations (as shown in post 12), killed three (3) Pure Wisp enemies, and only had two (2) Wisp Essence drop.  Cleared the map: planted every landmark flag, closed both rifts, done all beacons.

 

So my question is, do the Pure Wisps ever respawn?

Or are there any other options?

 

This seems a rare issue, not just people unable to find the locations and pure wisps, and from reading various sources (Reddit, GamesFAQ, BSN etc) it seems one's options is to farm Wraiths (very rare chance to drop), or close Rifts (rare chance to drop), or ???

I had no problem doing it the first time, but it was also the first time I'd ever been to the Fallow Mire.  I had this problem though first playthrough with the Way of the Assassin, it seems to work best if you've never been to the place before doing the quest.

Ok, a way to resolve this:

 

North of the Granite Point wisp area, there are some arches, under the southmost one a regular wraith will respawn every minute or so.  You can camp that, i just put a rubber band on my controller's auto attack trigger, and went and did some jobs (Combi-boiler sprung a leak). 

Farm that wraith, and eventually it'll drop a Wisp Essence. 

It's rare, but i got my 3rd eventually...

"The Book"? In Skyhold, go up to Vivienne's quarters and to the right of her, on a table you will find the prerequisite book in question. If that is not available, map to Val Rayeaux and find the book merchant.

I tried this for an hour or so last night with the with the solo wraiths at all 3 points on the map, however i still only have 2 wisp essenses... I am level 17 and i remember filling a inquisition order once for some wisps and now im stuck with only 2 wisp essenses left with no resources or knowledge of getting a 3rd to drop somewhere... any suggestions? im stuck an dont want to go farther in the story without getting knightenchanter. please help!?

I only have 2 wisp essense and i have went to all 3 points in the map mulitple times (i have already completed missions in area before) i cant find anything but fire and spirit essense in other regions... its frustrating trying to find a piece a loot that i dont know where to find? please help someone?

If you're looking for the books, look around the partymembers that has the specialization you want. Riftmage= Solas, Necromancer= Dorian and Knight Enchanter= Vivienne. Same goes for rogues and warriors.

All i need to get the specialization is one more wisp essense... I cant find it anywhere in the fallow mires and i also have taken down many of the rifts in the other regions hoping for a pure wisp to drop one with no avial... not sure what to do because ive already completed all of the fallow mires missions and im level 17... still lost trying to find one more wisp essense

The wisps you need are supposed to be in the fallow mires. I remember having troubles with the stuff needed for the assassin specialization, I had to kill several of the alfa quillbacks before I got it (I was almost tearing my hair out by the time it finally did drop). All I can say is see if the pure wisps respawn (the alfa quillbacks did) and kill them until you get the essence you need.
