Some people just aren't happy unless what they play is done their way I guess...
I was reading this to see if there was some shortcut perhaps to skip origin, but alas came upon these posts of anger and resentment that this option that some think is needed is not in the game.
Why was mario and duck hunt so great?
They didn't have forums.
A way to skip origins or a way to respec please.

There is an unofficial respec mod released. I find it most useful for altering the skills of additional party members. (Like dropping Morrigan's shape shifter specialty or making Leliana spec for DW instead of bows)

Talents and spells are all explained enough for you to be aware of potential combinations. For example morrigans freeze spells will combine well with a rogue as a main character. What new combos are not self evident?
I've not seen anything in-game about Storm of the Century or about overlapping glyphs. I found the latter by accident in my first playthrough (which was a fun moment, of course), and the former by looking up the list of spell combos on the wiki. Most of the others are mentioned in the spell descriptions, it's true (e.g. oil + fire).
All that has no bearing on the main point. For some of us, part of the enjoyment is to use the system effectively - figuring out which talents and skills work well together is the same kind of fun as learning how to position characters tactically etc. You will always have another fight to try different tactics, or for a particular fight you can just reload. In an information vacuum you may not realize that you blew it until a few levels down the road.

i agree that this game is SOOOOO MUCH better then WoW, but for someone not to say a RPG with similar weapons, armor, and game type isn't similar just has a personal agenda to WoW. They are alike in many respects.
with a respec option for this game, i'd feel a lot less frustrated. I really enjoy this game, but I regret my weapon and skill combination. I've gotten decently far, and am starting to realize I may have a lot more fun with a different combination. It looks like my only is to make a 2nd character and just continue with my present weapon/skills, which is flustering. But I guess I was planning on replaying this game numerous times anyway.. whatever. Consider it Bioware. All I'm saying..

It's simple, really. Options by themselves NEVER break immersion. Immersion is only "broken" if you choose to use them. And many people, like myself, don't have such mental insuffiencies that we can't deeply immerse ourselves in a game where the main character can respec. Wow.
I agree, and strongly desire a respec option for both the PC and NPCs. Constantly saving and fretting over talent choices is my single biggest interruption to immersion. The prospect of getting stuck with a mistake for the next 60 hours is unacceptable. I want to craft my character, perfectly... that's my immersion.
Re: DLC NPC's selling content via dialog.. I love it. This is a fantastic way of letting me know in-game that there is additional content to be had.
