I think I am blind or just a little dense.... BUT I have been trying to become a tempest for over an hour and cant figure this quest out. I have gone to Storm Coast and to all those locations but there is nothing to do. I feel like an idiot but can someone please help this sleep deprived girl!!!

I've figured out that part. In each of these locations there is a group of demons with no rift nearby. One large one and a few smaller. Pride demon, despair demon, and hatred demon. Killing the large ones yields apparatuses.

 

Tempest writings can be found in Sera's room on the second floor of the bar/tavern in Skyhold.

 

Bottle of smoke can be crafted at the quartermaster requisitions table

i cannot find the apostel landings and long rive ones...searched for 3hrs and nothing...evern parkor'd on mountains. can you give specific details on the where about of these demons? thanks

same here, found the ice demon, found the pride demon(apostle landings) cannot find the long river one. pple say its along the ledges beside it but i searched every ledge and parkor;d ever mountain i could find.....this is frustrating  . help any one!?

There is supposed to be a demon at apostates landing, near the solitude camp and the long river.

It was to be the one in Storm's Solitude, but I have had no luck as of yet.

check the high ground around your camp. i think my game is bugged because i can find this fire demon. and  side note; no one seems to know even though they completed the quest

Yeah, I still can't find the fire one.  I found the other two, but the last one just impossible to find.  The DA wiki says one is supposed to be at storm's solitude, and I found the other two at river and the landing.

i just found all three the fire is near a gray warden camp so thoes who didn't scout threm out it by the 2 northern ones when u start search around the ice 1 there and well the pic for pride if right it right in that place

I went to the bar/tavern on the second floor there are no rooms, on the third floor there is but there is no paper or anything is there something specific i have to do?
