Storm's Solitude Demon (Chilling Despair)

Located due south of Storm's Solitude camp.  Easily reached by taking a path south-west from the camp, and then cutting due east when the path reaches a steep grade on the west side.  For those who have explored a bit of the western side of the map, you will be on about the same latitude as the astrarium across the lake.

 

Apostate's Landing Demon (Seathing Rage)

Located just northwest of the astrarium and 'The Stone Tree' landmark that is on the same latitude of the Small Grove camp and the longitude of the Hessarian camp.

 

The map from earlier in this thread about the location of the Long River demon (Charged Pride) is accurate.

I was never actually asked to find the runes; once I had defeated all the demons and crafted the bottle of smoke, I was taught the specialization without any further tasks.  As for the essences, I had already collected enough just from killing fade creatures and sealing rifts.

I think the most annoying part is that those little subareas are not marked on the map, so I was going off memory from when I was exploring the storm coast.

I went to the bar/tavern on the second floor there are no rooms, on the third floor there is but there is no paper or anything is there something specific i have to do?

 

Sera doesn't really have much of a room. More like a cubby filled with random shite. Tavern second floor just follow around in a circle from the stairs and you'll find it.

The demon was in the exact location and ended several frustrating hours of searching.   

 

Note to others:  Look at the yellow path that Foxx took to get up there.   There are limited places to go up to that area.

I wanted to post here so that folks who were also having trouble could start to figure it out. I found the Pride Demon in the Long River location. Here is a map with me standing on the spot.

Okay, good to know I HAVE actually killed each of these, however apparently I never picked up the loot for one of them? Or it never dropped. But I'm missing one apparatus and I've gotten rid of Pride, Rage, and Despair. I got the containment apparatus from Pride and Despair but apparently not from Rage?

Anyone else with this issue? Having killed all three but missing a containment apparatus?

Twin - I also have the same issue. I have realized that I didn't loot it after I killed the other two demons (plus played for over 6 hours and did a bunch of side quests) and am now also stuck. I even tried finding it on the merchant in the Emerald Graves (not actually there), resetting the zone, getting the short list perk. Nothing has worked. I am really distressed that I might have to start over and lose 3 days worth of progress :/

I got another containment apparatus later on, doing the Varric's questline in the Stormcoast (could be a zone random drop on Elite enemies). the completed quest flashed again (known bug) so it could work

 

You could try that. Otherwise I think you're screwed according to earlier comments on Youtube's tutorial.

Hi all

 

the STORM'S SOLITUDE demon can be found as you leave your camp, follow the path going to the left, and take a small climb up the hill, almost above the camp. They are there on the platformy-hill.

 

the LONG RIVER demon can be found on another platformy hill a quarter of the way up the river from the delta.

 

the APOSTATE'S LANDING demon is actually at the STONE TREE, precisely one clik NE from the Astrarium.

 

I hope this helps, I would have posted a screenie but I'm on a console.

Anyone have a problem of books not there for Tempest or Assassin? I've looked in Sera's room and next to Cole (I actually thought I had already got the books) but they are not there.  I went to the merchant in Val and they are not there.  I've completed all of the other parts of both quests but no books.  I'm sure I had them and am wondering if I sold them by mistake if they got put in the valuables.   Any help?

The books don't appear until the companion's specialization is unlocked, and sometimes they don't unlock until you take the companion out with you (you can see if the specialization is unlocked by looking at the characters skill sheet).  So just do a party with Cole and Sera, go someplace safe like Val Royeaux, and come back to Skyhold, and the books should be there.

the apostate landing one is in a rage demon oin that area or at least that's where I found it not finding the long river one though although I've been upand down that area and still can't find it.
