Okay, so burning Andraste at the stake may have been a little excessive, but you can't blame him for being a little cross when his wife is like 'Yo dawg, I'm leaving you for the voices in my head."

Hahahaha

Although you gotta remember that this is a fantasy game so you can't really project atheism ... deities can exist in fictional settings you know :P

Getting his wife killed for 'cheating' (if you really think it was cheating) on him is just a 'little' extreme?  Sorry, you lost me there.

Yeah, yeah, I know.  Video game.  But seriously folks.  Maferath is an ass.  The Wiki basically says that he handed her over so he could rule the lands she conquered.  So, really, he's greedy as well as being jealous.

Yes, he was so upset he converted to her religion and lead an army in her name. It's not like her marriage to him was celibate; their sons went on to rule the south of Thedas.

He didn't do it to rule the lands, that was just a side benefit, and "she" didn't conquer them. They both did. He was a warlord and a general. She's just an unfaithful ******.
